  1. I sent off an email to Nicolas, who I purchased the HLDX0 from. Apparently, the DeModulator is for decoding only Dolby Digital audio from LDs. I have some Star Wars Special Edition LDs to test with the DeModulator and I will hear if that is working for me tomorrow. Unfortunately, none of the Macross LDs have dolby digital audio according to the LaserDisc Database. http://www.lddb.com/search.php?search=macross&sort=title,asc The Macross Plus LDs from Manga Entertainment have dual English & Japanese audio and those LDs would be better for video captures, since those LDs would not have the hard encoded Japanese subtitles. The main thing is that the LD player is working.
  2. I finally unpacked my HLD-X0 and I was watching DYRL on LD! Here's the box that the HLD-X0 has been sitting in since January 2011. Unpacking! 80 lbs of LD goodness! Here is the extra video hardware for external 3D comb and later color correction. The plug in places of the HLD-X0. For the best video from the HLD-X0, I read that you would use the BNC video pin hole and then use a RCA video cable for the output. I got that working just fine. But I found a small audio problem that could affect AC3 audio extraction for later. The included Yamaha DeModulator box doesn't appear to work. The RF DeModulator box is supposed decode the AC3 audio track that is stored separately on the LD. http://home.q03.itsc...YamahaAPD-1.htm Is there some hidden setting on the HLD-X0 that initiates the RF AC3 audio output? I know that the LD remote settings can be changed from Digital to Analog, but that is not the problem. I used a 110 volt converter to give power to the RF DeModulator. Then I used the included RCA audio cable and plugged it into the LD RF AC3 top plug in. The other end of the RCA audio cable went into the RF Demodulator RCA input and then I used a spdif cable to connect the Demodulator to my Sony surround stereo. No audio is being demodulated from the LD when played. I checked that the Demodulator has the electric switch on the back slid to 110 V. Also, I checked that the HLD-X0 audio settings are set to (D)igital and not (A)nalog audio. And the power on button for the DeModulator was depressed in. I know I can get digital audio directly from the LD spdif audio output and the alternate LD RCA digital audio output. Is there a difference between the RF AC3 audio output and the other two digital outputs? My test Anime LDs are: 1. http://www.lddb.com/...loe3-%281995%29 2. http://www.lddb.com/...tion-%281984%29 The DYRL perfect edition has digital dolby surround audio, but I'm not sure if that type of digital audio would necessarily be decoded by the DeModulator? And I found out that the Macross Plus International LDs have English only audio with hard encoded Japanese subtitles. I'm not sure if the LD remote has a button for turning subtitles on or off. That's it for now until I can get my laptop working with the Hauppauge HD PVR and make a test video capture.
  3. That's good to know somebody is still interested in this project! I know I still am and other Macross related projects as well. dokworm, I don't know you so well, since that is your first post here. If you could show some samples of LD video captures or how you get your LD captures done, then maybe somebody might take you up on your offer. What kind of outboard comb filter do you have? Would you be using Avisynth filters or After Effects software to improve the image quality? talk to you later! ************** I've been very busy with personal stuff. Now that I have some holiday time, I'm cleaning up my place and getting my projects back on track. My HLD-X0 LD player is still in the shipping box! I have to clear out some more room in my living room before I can get the LD player working and start testing it out. I'm thinking this weekend would be a good time to start doing that. My 8 year old XP Pro laptop will be used to get the video capture done with the Hauppauge WinTV HDPVR. Otherwise, I have to upgrade my laptop or move my big desktop computer over to the living room where the LD player is. In the meantime, I've been able to order three different DYRL LDs for video capturing: 1.Super Space Fortress English LD, 2. DYRL Dolby digital surround LD 3. another DYRL LD. These LDs have just been ordered last week from Rakuten, so I'll have them by next month. Hopefully, each different DYRL LD are from a different film sources. The reason I picked up more DYRL LDs is because according to the original trilogy forum, multiple video captures from different sources can be re-combined and up-converted in resolution to provide a cleaner image. If people can get that better image quality for Star Wars, then why not do that for DYRL?
  4. I skimmed over that post and pre-ordered the DYRL BD LE set from YesAsia on March 23 when the LE BD set was momentarily difficult to pre-order. YesAsia does not allow cancellations of pre-orders. I just read Macross + Bluray = spend money. Never mind me.
  5. When I pre-ordered the DYRL LE BD set, I did not know about FB2012 bluray as an upscaled version from the remastered DVD. And I definitely did not know about Kawamori smudging two scenes, adding in an introductory text card and altering the audio. I have mixed feelings about this DYRL release. The extra booklets and art cards are great, but the movie itself was misrepresented as the "theatrical" version. It's too late to return this movie to YesAsia, since I had to see and hear how DYRL BD looked. This movie still needs a lot of work to restore properly.
  6. I have that book as a part of my Macross book collection. I thought it was a DYRL scriptbook. Now we just need someone to make a translation.
  7. You found M7 Sketchbook A! Lucky!
  8. Rakuten Japan still has the DYRL limited edition BD set available for sale. http://books.rakuten.co.jp/rb/ /超時空要塞マクロス〜愛・おぼえていますか〜Hybrid-Pack〜ハイブリッドパック-初回限定版「30周年アニバーサリーボックス」-PS3-4582224494767/item/11613852/ But, you would need a proxy service to get it. http://www.ebay.ca/i...984.m1439.l2649 I have bought from Yahoo Japan Auction with this ebay seller many times and received good service. I sent them an email now about buying the DYRL BD on Rakuten Japan. I'll update the post here for proxy pricing. ****************************** Masa, ebay proxy seller said "On Macross anniversary Package:.... Item Price : 11,730 JPY (US$146.63) Our Commission : 1,760 JPY (US$22.00) Total : 20,118 JPY (US$168.63) We would have to find out the EMS shipping cost after the item is delivered to our location."
  9. $232 US + free shipping to Canada on Yes Asia.com I'm just waiting to see if my pre-order for the DYRL limited edition bluray went through. Just now, I received a shipping order number, but no email notice and the bluray is not listed in my new Yes Asia account to show that I just purchased it. I thought I did something wrong and went through the order process again with the same result. Maybe, someone at Yes Asia has to manually confirm the order and send me an email? Now, I need to cancel one of the two DYRL limited BD sets at Yes Asia. **************** Both orders are being processed, so I sent an intra-website message to cancel one of the bluray orders. Maybe, if I see another bluray set for less, then I'll cancel this order.
  10. 3 years of waiting and I missed out. I would guess that scalpers are quite happy right now.
  11. I finished looking through the old MW forum 2002-2004 for WM Cheng's model postings. I could not find the VF-2SS model build up, but I did find a website with the completed model pictures. 1. 1/72 Hasegawa VE-1 Elintseeker Completed Photos 2. 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1A Max Super Completed photos 2.A. 1/72 Hasegawa Valkyrie Progress Feb 6, 2002 (missing pictures) 3. 1/72 Hasegawa VT-1 Ostrich step by step guide 4. 1/72 Musasiya VF-2SS Completed Photos
  12. I uploaded the missing pdf files to mediafire and found WM Cheng's completed VE-1 pictures thread in the old MW forum. WM Cheng's first post has almost all the old weblinks recovered. Only the 1st part of the VF-1A Max Super build up is available. I'll keep looking for the other missing WM Cheng postings.
  13. What an amazing project! I hope more Macross custom toy modifications will be made. We are pretty close to seeing a full fan made Macross toy.
  14. otakubell.com 's great laserdisc cover archive is back online! I am backing up the the Macross LD pictures this time. Macrosshare Update: 1. Forum back up is going slowly due to me having too much to do with work and family. 2. I am posting streaming Macross videos to offset the slow re-uploads of missing Macross files. 3. Mediafire will be used to replace the Macross files 4. If somebody sees some missing files that are not from MegaUpload on Macrosshare, e.g. Robotech The movie avi, then instead of posting in the comment section of the Macrosshare post to tell me, please post in the Macrosshare forum. I hardly have time to read the older comments unless there are a lot of spam posts to clean up.
  15. Looking really good! Dark "Heroes" Entertainment Unless Hikuro is actually producing comics as well as dubbing anime?
  16. I like the 2nd one. Maybe, you can try a semi-transparent darkened border around the text. Would the DVD covers need the Dark Heroes Entertaiment logo?
  17. Not working for me! I clicked on your weblink after registering with crackle.com and I get an crackle 404 error page that redirects me to the crackle homepage. I'm in Canada, so could I be blocked from certain shows on crackle?
  18. I cannot find Macross on crackle.com at all. Provide a weblink, please?
  19. May 26, 2011 DYRL Settei Booklet posting until November 12, 2011 Macross U Print Software. And then I also updated the Macross SDF remastered series episode 21 and up, some of the Macross Frontier TV series and throughout the Macrosshare blog wherever updates were needed. Even markcell will have to update his massive music collection! Macross Generation: First Half and covers Radio Play Mika Kaneko - 2 Okunen mae no You ni Shizuka de ne CD Single VIDL-10221 Password: bymarkcell Hiroko Kasahara - Mou Ichido Love You CD Single VIDL-10298 Password: bymarkcell So, if you see a Macrosshare megaupload link and have already downloaded the file, then please upload to a fileshare website and then post a weblink in the comments section for that file on Macrosshare and leave a message on the chatbox. Then I will update the Macrosshare posting. Mediafire seems to be a favorite, but it is USA based. MultiUpload.com would work. Rapidshare still works for me. Thanks for helping! Macrosshare co-admin boinger I have just now renewed my Rapidpro account for the next 3 months.
  20. Macrosshare Update: MegaUpload has just been taken offline pending a criminal court case in the USA ! http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2012/01/megaupload-wasnt-just-for-pirates-angry-users-out-of-luck-for-now.ars So as of now, all of the Macrosshare megaupload links are non-functional ! Mediafire is USA based and Filesonic is no longer allowing public downloading. http://torrentfreak.com/filesonic-kills-file-sharing-after-megaupload-arrests-120122/ Currently, Macrosshare Rapidshare weblinks are still working. But if you have downloaded any of the Macrosshare Megaupload links, then I will need help to re-upload to MediaFire or to alternate file websites. Thank you!
  21. Years ago, I lost one of the super pack antennae for the Yamato 1/60 VT-1 Elintseeker version 1 toy and could never get a spare part. I'm interested in this, too.
  22. Can your 3D printer make models formed in 1/60 scale? And would the 3D printer be able to paint or tampo pint decals on the models? That would be very cool!
  23. Avid software could need a software update patch and the video card drivers might need updating, too. And then it could be the video encoding settings within the Avid software. I don't have Avid software myself, so that's my best guess.
