I finished retiming SDF tv episode 14 Wednesday. OptimusX is retiming the SDF tv episode 15. So, Gubaba will be doing last checks on the subs and probably releasing the episode 14 .mkv this weekend.
Fan editing notes:
I'm up to 36 out of 45 minutes for editing the Story of Return of the Jedi.
I learned that merging/compositing two still pictures can be affected by how high the brightness of the two pictures are. So, if one picture is brighter than another , then you can see the black borders of the brighter picture instead of the two pictures together.
The ROTJ laserdisc to DVD that I'm using has blurry still pictures.
So, I went to look for the hi def 1080p star wars videos on tehparadox. I'm almost finished downloading the .mkv videos and then I'll convert them to .avi for video editing and snapshot use. I remember that the colour/tint is more blue for the special edition version. I might have to adjust the snapshots to match the video that I'm using.
I find that I'm getting a little better at synching the audio to the video, but in this particular video edit there are "jump cuts". The audio is abridged, so that the dialogue has been shortened even within scenes of the movie. For example, in one scene Luke would be talking while looking in one direction and then he would be looking in the opposite direction without turning his head.
So, I have to make the choice of keeping these "jump cuts" in the video edit or taking the beginning or ending of that scene and making it a snapshot. I'm going to use the hi def star wars video and see how some of the snapshots turn out. There's at least 50 snapshots of ROTJ that I've used so far to bridge from one scene to the next, so to replace the "jump cuts" with snapshots is quite a few more snapshots.
For every 1 minute of video, I've had to make 5-10 video cuts and 2-3 snapshots, which can take me 1 hour to do. And then there's still video transitions (wipes) to plug in.
At least 2 more weeks to get the initial editing done, then watching it over to put in transitions and final edits.
Then I'll split the video into 5 parts for youtube.
I'm thinking of switching back and forth from Macross video project to non-Macross, so I'll keep interested in video editing and hopefully get better at it with more practice.
Next project will likely be COTB DVD update with Chad's DYRL video footage.

Well, that hi def star wars rotj video is much better than the what I was using.
I'll be fixing that fan edit up, but it will set the release further back to end of November.

Magic Engine 1.13 demo has the sound working mostly!
No laser fire or missile sounds and there's 5 minute time limit.
I'm not very good at this game.
I'll try a couple of other emulators and see if that makes any difference.
Now to take a look at FRAPS software.

Macross 2036 CD game almost works!
I burned the game with CDRwin software.
Imgburn doesn't work with cue files.
Now, I'm not sure how to get the sound working properly.
All I hear is a harsh electronic explosion sound as I keep getting blown up.
No intro music, game music or other sound effects.
There's numerous sound buttons in the Magic Engine emulator, but only volume up/down and sound on/off is working.
Is there some some sound settings I have to manually type into the Magic Engine .ini file?

If anybody is interested in making Macross 2036 or Eternal Love Song video game walk-throughs, then I would be interested in getting the video footage subtitled.
Here's Valkyrie's uncorrected english script for the Macross 2036 walk-through that he made.

The game music for Macross 2036 and Eternal love song are availableon Macross Share.
I could not figure out how to get Macross 2036 or Eternal Love song game working on Vista 64bit.
Magic Engine emulator and Ootake emulator kept telling me that the rom was corrupt when I converted the file folder into a zip file or changed the name of the zip file to .pce.
The TOC.txt file in the game folder is exactly the same as posted on that Macross 2036 forum page.
I burned the games at 4x speed with imgburn and Magic Engine tells me that it's not a .pce CD.
Just not working for me.
I asked sunteam, who posted the youtube videos, that if he's going to capture any more Macross 2036 video footage,could he also add Vakyrie's english Macross 2036 script to it. He says no, but he would like to see the english script. Maybe, he'll visit MacrossWorld and he'll change his mind about capturing more game footage.

I tried using that magic emulator. The emulator wouldn't recognize the CD that I made of the image file with imgburn software.
I would like to get Macross: Eternal Love Song and Macross: 2036 working, so that there's a possibility that the gameplay could be caputured with FRAPS sofware for a fan edit.

OptimusX is almost ready with the AVCHD of DHE's english dub of Macross Zero episode 1 in high definition.
You will be able to play it on a Blu-ray player, but I'm not 100% sure about the software avchd players.
Available on either rapidshare or bittorrent.
Would anyone like to submit a DVD cover for this project?
I finished tinkering with the DHE DYRL DVD to upgrade all the video with Chad's video upgrades. Then I reworked the DYRL subtitles for this all english dub release and also shifted around the audio to try and better match the video. Lipsynching English to Japanese anime is not easy.
So, I'll upload the temporary DVD to OptimusX for subtitling and final release.
Other than that, I've been trying to learn a bit more how to do video editing by matching Star Wars Return of the Jedi to the Story of SW ROTJ audio play. I found this play on the internet after I had watched Movealong's Story of SW and Empire from fanedit.org. I'm not sure how to make this SW fan edit as nice as those fan edits, since I don't have high definition versions of SW movies and I'm using Vista 64bit. I expect it'll take me at least 2 months to do a fair job. It's 40 minutes, so I'll probably just post it on youtube in 4 parts.

I also found Mari Iijima's audio commentary on episode 4 and 9. You can add them into the .mkv episodes with MKVMerge software, but you might have to adjust the timing delay.
OptimusX is almost sure he has the Hi Def AVCHD Macross Zero disc working. So, we'll know pretty soon whether this is going to work.
We are working on remastered SDF TV Special Edition disc 01 DVD using Chad's sdf tv video, Gubaba's version 2 subtitles and dual audio with commentaries. I just need to update the subtitles a bit and fix up a mini bonus video.

When DHE Macross Zero episode 1 Version 2.0 is ready, then the audio in the .mkv can be swapped out with MKVmerge software easily enough. I'm ready when you're ready.
(7 parts, 200 mb each, HJSplit; it's pretty big for a good reason 1080p !; I'm not sure if all computers can even watch these hi def .mkv videos.)
The 19 part DYRL .mkv videos turned out really big in order to get the same video quality as the original 7 GB DVD.
I tried shrinking the videos down to less than a 1 GB with AutoGK or Handbrake software and the results were not very good.
I couldn't figure it out.

The youtube clips sound really good!
It's going to take me a while to sort out if I can even do any hi def DVD version of M Zero with DHE audio.
OptimusX is doing a very interesting project with avchd DVDs and hi def Macross Zero video encoded by QYQ.
Maybe, I can send him a pm with the DHE 1.0 audio?

It's summer, so I'm working more than usual and not much else.
I did some minor updates to the Fan Edit info first page.
OptimusX has done subtitle patches for
the theatrical DYRL DVD,
remastered DYRL DVD v2 and
remastered DYRL DVD with the updated DYRL June 2009 subtitles.
Bittorrents for some of OptimusX's subititled Macross DVDs have been uploaded to iMacross4. You will need to register with asiandvdclub.org and maintain a good upload ratio.
OptimusX has also completed the subtitles for the remastered SDF Macross TV DVD disc 01 and posted it up on asiandvdclub.
Flashback 2012 now has an .ac3 karaoke audio file for the DVD project.
I'll be uploading the .mkv version soon.
DHE DYRL still needs a DVD menu fix, otherwise all the rest of the video, audio and subtitles have been fixed up.
I was working on timing the M 20th anniversary subtitles. It just was so tedious that I stopped doing that for this week. I'll keep plugging along on that eventually.
I noticed that Hikuro has recovered a bit and is now working on Macross Zero version 2.0 again.
So for tonight, I've been trying to get the QTS M zero episode 1 (1920x1080) to match up with DHE audio, japanese audio, THORA english subtitles and DAPDX Macross Zero commentary.
I've been having difficulties editing 1080 h264 video.
Cyberlink powerproducer is supposed be able to edit avchd/bd 1080 interlaced video. But, avchd doesn't appear to be h264, since power producer doesn't even recognize h264. Then it would crash every time I load up the macross zero episode 1 1920x1080 xvid avi.
After I get the dhe m zero 01 special edition .mkv done, the best I can do with the m zero ep 01 1080 xvid avi is to run it through womble video editor and turn out a very nice 720x480 wide-screen video.
The end credits for this version need to be redone because when I add in the end credits from the original DHE m zero ep 01 avi., the credits jitter up and down, instead of smoothly scrolling upwards.
I'll post again when I have something uploaded.

Chad is working on the video for SDF TV episode 07-10 for the special edition episodes.
I've been working nights all week and didn't get much done for fan edits or anything else Macross related.
I have a few Macross videos and subtitles to upload in the next couple of days.
I did finish up the .mkv for the DHE DYRL english dub (.mkv, 19 parts, HJSplit) though.
The DHE DYRL DVD menu fix is on my to do list for this week before I hand the DVD over to OptimusX for subtitle patching.
We'll see what else I can get done for this week.

iMacross Server Problem
Starting Oct. 20/09:
If a rapidshare account is over 25 gb, the rapidshare will be deleting files that have not been downloaded for 3 months.
This new rapidshare ruling affects both iMacross4 and the Macross Share website whose contents are over 200+gb of Macross files each.
I picked up a megaupload premium account to see if it was possible to transfer the rapidshare files to megaupload.
So far, I've been able to get 430 out of 2300 rapidshare weblinks into a text file, but the megaupload manager refuses to import them for file transfer. 20 different websites have given me information about previous megaupload software settings,but are currently quite useless for multiple rapidshare file transfers.
I've been looking for days on how to find any other megaupload methods or different file websites. For example, avoid using multiupload.com, since the weblinks are wrong or 6kb in file size. It looks like the best I can do is use Megaupload for the >25gb of Macross files or just do upload requests only.
(requested deletion), of Macross Share, has told me that he's been very busy and will not be updating his website after Oct.20/09 without a lot of help. A team would be needed to maintain and manage the Macross Share website.

Update:
I was just looking over the rapidshare website settings.
It might be possible to transfer all the files over to a collector's account, which would reset all the weblinks. Then transfer the collector's account files back to my premium account. Hopefully, that would reset the download timing back to 0 and we would have 3 more months before any files are deledted. After that, I could spend a couple of weeks putting all the files back into their respective folders.
Maybe, I didn't need to spend the $20 for megaupload?
