  1. Here's a follow up email from N.S.:

    "Hello,

The original packaging helps with shipping but has no impact on warranties.

The demodulator should be considered separately, won't ship along the X0 for packaging issues, does not require maintenance, so you could buy it upfront or at the same time you buy an X0, with no down payment.

For the X0 you can pay in installments like $500 or $1000 monthly if it helps, a target of an April to June shipment is reasonable.

There are several issues with PayPal, their rules prohibit partial payments, their fees are high, and they won't protect from fraud

in the case both parties are not in the US, which is our case.

    Sincerely,

    Nicolas"

    ****************************

So, basically, all I need to do is come up with $500 a month for 8 months and

not buy any Macross toys for that period of time.

    OR

I would need to sell pretty much all the toys I have ready

for sale for the price I'm hoping for.

That would just cover the LD player, but not the Macross LDs or extra hardware.

Hmmm. I better sleep on this one.

I would have a better idea on how many toys I can sell by the end of January.

  2. So far, Neova and Valk009 haven't been able to find any Pioneer HLD-X0 or X9

LD players out in Hong Kong. Maybe, we'll get lucky.

Three HLD-X9s are listed up on Yahoo Auctions: $2900 + shipping.

Two HLDx-X9s are listed up on Ebay Auctions: $2100-3000.

The guy who listed the HLD-X9 for $2100 on ebay has a bad rep

from Nicholas Santini who had to repair this guy's ebay buyer's HLD-X9s.

Nicholas Santini runs a specialty Pioneer LD website for high end LD players,

    like the HLD-X0 and X9.

I emailed him yesterday to see how he prices the HLD-X0 players.

    Here's his response email:

    "Hello,

Will you be using the X0 for MUSE playback ?

RF demodulator: this is the easy part, can provide as detailed on my page:

    http://home.q03.itscom.net/nsa/

I have several X0's in stock, can provide what you want, price highly variable

to cosmetical condition, year of manufacture and availability or not of original

packaging, ranges from $4000 to $8000, that includes the Pioneer revision

made by the world-wide specialist of these machines at Pioneer Tokyo.

Shipping to Canada is around $700, possibly less. All quotes in USD but payment

is by CAD bank wire to my father's Bank of Montreal account. Revision may

take up to one month, is triggered by your down payment; final payment due

    when ready to ship.

Pls let me know what you are looking for and i will tell

you what i have that suits you.

I'll be gone 3 weeks from Dec 19 so no shipment can be finalized before

    mid to end January.

    Sincerely,

    Nicolas"

    *******************

So, he does have an HLD-X0 for sale, but it's $1000 more than the HLD-X9 ($3000),

not including the RF demodulator ($250).

I wonder how much for the down payment?

    Wire bank transfer?

I dread wire bank transfers, since my younger brother was scammed by

a guy out in British Columbia for a non-existent Lap top.

Banks just don't care about fraud for some reason.

But, I'm not sure why my brother didn't make a small claims court claim against that guy in B.C.

N.S. will be unavailable until end of January because he's taking a vacation, so I'll work at getting some money together and see what I come up with by the end of January 2010.

For now, I posted up some toys and comics on ebay. Then I'll see how many more auctions I can do for today. The rest of the toys will be posted in the For Sale thread after the ebay auctions are done. I don't want to get too busy by selling too much at one time.

  3. I relisted and added more stuff.

Ebay is having 50% off initial listing fees for today and tomorrow.

I'll see how much I can list up for tomorrow and the rest I'll post into the For Sale thread.

    **************

I had to switch all the auctions to 5 days in order to get the ebay fee reduction. Then I sent an email to Ebay customer service to see if I can get a fee credit, otherwise 58 auctions come out to $79 in fees without selling anything. I hope I sell more stuff this time.

    *****************

That auction turned out pretty good!

Thank you, if you happen to have bid on my items.

So, today I'll send out the shipping rates and then start shipping out the toys as soon as the

money gets into my paypal account.

I'll be listing up some ebay stuff at least once a month. Starting ext month January, I will be spending about

$500/month towards a purchase of an HLD-X0 Laserdisc player from Nicolas Santini.

I hope that Neova or Valk009 can find one of these LD players for less, but

still in good shape. But, we'll have to see by the end of January.

  4. It looks like I'll be having trouble retaining files on Rapidshare again. It has been almost 3 months since the last time Rapidshare put a time limit of 3 months for files on rapidshare accounts that have over 50gb of files.

I received an email from Rapidshare that the time limit is every 2 months.

Files are going to start disappearing on iMacross4 and Macross Share.

I was not able not able to renew iMacross4 rapidshare download dates with the File Uploader software this time.

Rapidshare was able to block File Uploader for renewing the download dates.

The latest File Uploader sofware does not even have the Rapidshare Link Keeper function.

    Possible solutions:

    1. FTP server

(Limit to number of people connected at one time: 10-15. Upload rate slowed down by ADSL connection: 50kb/s total. Changing to Shaw Cable ISP is faster, but Shaw does do upload+download caps.)

    2. Direct Connect Hub

(Hopefully, it's not as buggy as it was 3 years ago. I couldn't connect to DC hubs half the time and people coundn't connect to me. ADSL upload speed limit.)

    3. Gigatorrent files

(With utorrent, you can pick and choose which files you would like to download from within the bittorrent.

    Maximum ADSL upload speed 50 kb/s. )

    4. MegaUpload

(I would have to upload all the iMacross4 files from my hard drive. There is no batch transfer software for moving files from Rapidshare to Megaupload.)

    5. Every 2 months, upload missing files.

I'll make a new directory file of what I have on my hard drive.

Upon request only, I'll upload the missing files to iMacross4 rapidshare server.

    6. Usenet ?

I'll have to read up more on that.

    7. MIRC ?

    Any other ideas?

    *******************

    Update:

I tried jDownloader + Flashgot for Mozilla web browser for a batch download of 300 files from iMacross4. Rapidshare recognized my ip address and so the last download date remains the same for all 300 files: Oct. 14/09. That's the last time that File Uploader was able to renew the download dates.

  5. I was just checking around for any more VIP M7 subtitled releases and

found that MiniNova.org has deleted all the macross bittorrents.

    http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/life/sci_tech/76235257.html

Isohunt.com is also being taken to court this week by MPAA and Canadian Recording Industry Association, since it's based in Canada. So, even though the minority Canadian Conservative government hasn't been able to pass bill c-61 (US like Copyright DMCA), the CRIA is suing isohunt anyways.

    http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/can...b-70689512.html

It bugs me that the MPAA has continued to garner ever increasing profits every year for quite a lot of movies that are not that good and the MPAA are sue happy on a global scale.

    http://arstechnica.com/old/content/2008/03...ord-profits.ars

    http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/media/2008/who-owns-ideas.mp3

Private bittorrent trackers and Usenet might be the way to go.

  6. LD fan sub video capture on Anime suki forum.

I'll read this over and see if there's anything else on that web forum that could be helpful.

Doom9 forum looks like there might be some info there as well.

(Doom9 forum seems to be down.)

I haven't tested the Hauppauge HDPVR just yet to see what options I can use for resolutions and codecs.

It appears that the hdpvr does use the h264 video codec. Huffyuv video codec would be prefrerable.

Alternatively, I can use my JVC Everio HD camcorder to capture video (AVCHD/m2ts video) from LD player.

The camcorder cables look like component video capture.

I could take back the HDPVR and then put that money towards buying the LD player. I'll go check on the JVC website for the manual to see what I can do with this camcorder.

(Update: HD camcorder video cables only useful for output, not input.

    I'm keeping the HDPVR.)

After skimming through the anime suki thread, it looks like I'm after a too hard to justify expensive LD player: HLD-X0. A Pioneer HLD-X9 or an LD-S0 LD player would be the 2nd/3rd choices. Even then, those LD players are expensive, too. 4th, 5th LD player option?

    ******************************************

    Mercurial Morpheus:

    Colour palette with Histograms?

Maybe Chad Dunham would know more about this, I don't.

Unless you would like to take a crack at colour correction for LD rips?

I'm not sure what would be the "correct" colour scheme for each scene in DYRL.

At best, I would notice if there is too much of one colour, like blue.

The remastered DYRL DVD video resolution is 853x480 at 1x1 scale, but the picture does appear to include black bars on all 4 sides of the frame. The LD resolution would be less than the remastered DVD. If the LD resolution does not include the Left and Right black bars like the remastered DVD, then the LD resolution would be just right for a LD rip.

    ************

    Correction:

My mistake. Mercurial Morpheus is correct. I misread that the 6 part OVA compressed into one movie as the 6 part OVA included on the bluray discs.

Gunbuster 1 and 2 ova were remastered to DVD in 2007, but not on bluray just yet.

  7. remastered SDF Macross TV episode 16 and episode 17

    bittorrent is available

You can check on the Galaxy Network website usually

every 2nd weekend for an update on the SDF subtitling project.

Gubaba was able to find the time to update the Macross OST disc 1 lyrics, too!

    Seed when you can, thanks!

    Fan editing notes:

I'm still downloading HD Star Wars .wmv files from Chad, so that fan edit project is on hold.

I went back to womble video editor, since Sony Vegas movie studio looks like it works better for adding in 5.1 audio and video effects after the main movie is edited. My macross zero music video was at 3 out of 4 minutes done and then there wasn't quite enough Fokker vs DD combat to make that last minute work. Fokker in the armoured VF0S might be a good ending. I could put together a partial music video with Shin vs Nora combat and then flip back and forth between the two videos using Vegas movie studio to put in the video transitions. Power Director video editor might be good for subitling. I'll keep working on it.

Mostly, I've been researching on how to do laser disc preservations.

    I updated that thread today.

Laser disc preservation looks to be an expensive project, so it might take me at least 5-6 months to get some cash together for the HLD-X0 laser disc player (if I can find one.) Otherwise, I'll just upgrade my computer and see what else might be needed for that project.

2 1/2 weeks ago, Gubaba emailed me the SDF tv episode 18 subs, so it looks like that episode needs to be timed for this week.

  8. Update:

I haven't bought any LDs or hardware yet.

I'm waiting to hear back from Neova.

Neova might be searching for HLD-X0 players this weekend. I haven't heard from him, since last week.

Yahoo Auctions has two HLD-X0 players up for about $2900 US, but the payments are direct bank transfers.

I don't like direct bank transfers.

Read two long original trilogy forum threads and now reading over the X0 project website for laser disc capture details.

    There you go!

  10. Those are good points you raised, thelonewolf and chillyche.

I understand that the resolution of a laser disc is not as much as the hd remastered. But, I did read that mpeg video can and does have video artifacts when compressing a 35mm movie to a DVD. So, I would hope that capturing the laser discs to h264 .mkv or raw avi would minimize the compression artifacts with Chad would work on some video processing and then OptimusX could give me some advice on converting them into avchd DVDs .

On the other hand, laser disc videos do have their own inherent potential video problems and limitations.

The HD DYRL DVD came out Dec. 2007 and there's still copies of the non-limited DYRL DVD available on cdjapan.

Standard Definition DVD Macross Zero: Dec. 2002

    Buray Macross Zero: Aug. 2008

    (corrections)

Standard Definition DVD Gunbuster OVAs released: 2004

Remastered DVD Gunbuster OVAs released: 2007

    BluRay Gunbuster OVAs not released

So, the bluray DYRL movie is possibly to be released in 2010 to 2013.

    I watched a

and he's a very busy guy working on 2-3 potential animation series as well as the Macross Frontier movies. 2012?

I'll hear back from Neova next week to see how expensive the HLD-X0 players can be.

  11. I'll be updating the first post with new information as this project gets going.

Such as, I asked Neova to look for a HLD-X0. He said he'll take a look around Hong Kong this weekend. I expect that there are HLD-X0 players around, but we'll have to see how expensive it gets.

The one HLD-X0 player on Yahoo auctions this week is going for $2900 not including the $700 shipping or the $500+ customs. Apparently, this player is built like a battleship a with very thick and sturdy metal case weighing about 80 lbs.

I haven't finished reading all 87 pages of the Star Wars X0 laser disc preservation project on originaltrilogy forum just yet, so I'm still unsettled as to some specific hardware or software that can be used for this project.

I noticed that the X0 team said they used a pixel magic bnc video capture card to get the most clear video signal as they could. I doubt it would work on vista 64bit. As well, I'm not sure what to make of video processors. Some people on the AVS forum say that all you need is a high end laser disc player like an HLD-X0. Then there's the other bunch who say you just have to have a video processor (DVDO or Pixel Magic or that Entech box that is listed) to make sure that the video is outputted properly to a hi def tv with as little video artifacts as possible.

Anybody know much about video processors?

Otherwise, I think Chad can do just as much as a video processor can.

  12. Macross Laser Disc Preservation

    Hi there,

Have you ever watched the Bandai HD remastered DYRL DVD and said to yourself what's with all that film grain being turned into macroblocks and what's with all these little background audio pops in the background?

After reading up on laser disc versus DVD video quality and the X0 project on originaltrilogy forum, I found that the mpeg compression on DVDs can cause the video macroblocking and improperly sampled ac3 audio can cause the background audio pops. While laser disc video/audio do not incur these problems.

I propose that that the Macross CAV Laser Discs be properly

converted to BDs/ AVCHD DVDs with a purchased Pioneer HLD-X0 laser disc player.

The current plan is for me to purchase an HLD-XO LD player from Nicolas Santini and any additional hardware or software for this project to make high quality raw avi (huffyuv codec) video (BNC to RCA video) and RF ac3 audio captures.

Then once the video and audio files have been captured, Chad Dunham has offered to do video fixes with virtual dub, Mercurial Morpheus has offered to do colour correction and I am going to see if I can do video glitch removal with after effects.

    ***********************************

This project could take at least 1-2 years for completion (of just one 2 hour movie, such as

perfect edition DYRL LD) because of how long it takes to afford to buy this LD player

and to do a good job getting these LDs cleaned up and into

subitled AVCHD DL DVDs or BluRay discs. It's likely to take less time for Macross Plus and 7.

I'm not sure how all the videos will distributed, but it would be easier just to mail

the discs out to those who worked on the project or donated and then by request only.

I'm hoping that the price of bluray recordable discs drops. Currently, I think I can only mail

out the discs if the the discs + shipping are paid first.

Rapidshare and private bittorrent servers would be the main options.

  13. phunky204 uploaded Turbine's dyrl english dub laser disc rip to rapidshare.

    thanks to Turbine and phunky204

    http://rapidshare.com/files/299865036/Macr..._sideB.flac.002

2 parts for each side of the laserdisc, HJSplit

I was able to convert the two .flac audio files to one high quality wave audio file with Winamp audio player.

Then I used soundsoap 2.2 software to take out most of the background hiss.

I'll see if phunky204 would like to do some audio editing for this new file, otherwise that will likely be my winter project.

This time, I have a better idea on how to do the audio editing to avoid the audio pop sounds.

The star wars fan edit is on hold until I can download the 30fps wmv hi def files from Chad.

I'm working nights this week, which means I'm just downloading a bunch of new macross files from bittorrent for iMacross4. As well, I downloaded the Vegas movie studio platinum trial to see if that software is more useful at video transitions, compositing, titles or editing in general. I've read good things about sony video software, so I wanted to see if it's worth buying.

So, far movie studio is taking more than a day to load in some macross frontier hi def .avi files. It looks like it's converting the avi files 24fps to 30fps. I hope that that doesn't change the video quality. Womble video editor just accepted the hi def .avi files no problem. I remember from reading on fanedit.org that womble video editor is good for basic cutting and editing and after that sony vegas can be used for video transitions between scenes, titling for credits and compositing.

I'll start again with that Macross zero music video edit with womble and finish with movie studio.

I want to focus on one project at a time and get that done.

  14. Most of the projects, I'm currently at work on are only possible with the help of other people.

So, a big thanks to Chad Dunham for his video upgrading, Gubaba for his translation skills, Xeros and OptimusX for their DVD subtitling and Hikruo and his DHE english dubbing team for DYRL, Macross Zero and Macross Frontier episode one.

I doubt that fan editing will get me a job because there are much better fan editors at fanedit.org who do amazing work.

A few fan editors I admire are Adigitalman (many well polished fan edits), Adywan (Star Wars revisited), kerr (LOTR book cuts), TMBTM (Jaws: Sharksploitation) are just a few that are really good.

I have a long ways to go before I make as good a fan edit.

The two I've done so far, COTB and DYRL Extended, look and sound clunky.

I hope to get back to them to do a better job.

  15. phunky204 was able to get two .flac audio files of the dyrl english dub laserdisc from Turbine.

I'm hoping to get a copy of these files from phunky204.

From phunky204's message, it looks like the laserdisc audio will incur the same difficulties in matching up to the 24fps remastered dyrl video.

If this audio sounds better than the vhs audio, then I'll seriously consider updating the audio for COTB fan edit.

  16. A $3000+ Canadian funds Macross model!

    (shipping and customs included)

    Nooooooooooooooo!

I'd almost consider selling half of all the toys I have right now to get just one,

if it was completed like the master replicas millenium falcon prop model.

    Oh, well.

  17. remastered SDF Macross TV episode 15

    subtitled by Galaxy Network

    bittorrent is available

Gubaba has also re-encoded remastered SDF TV episode 1-6 in lower quality for easier download and storage.

    Seed when you can, thanks!

    Now on iMacross4:

remastered SDF Macross TV episode 14 (Galaxy Network)

    5 parts, HJSplit

remastered SDF Macross TV episode 14 (Special edition)

dual audio, Chad's updated sdf video

    6 parts HJSplit

    Fan editing notes:

Chad was telling me how he picked up hi def ntsc star wars wmv videos after I was telling him about the star wars fan edit I've been working on. So, instead of me trying to figure out how to get pal (25 fps) video to convert into ntsc 24fps mpeg, I'll be using the ntsc hi def video. And then I get to start again. I know I need the practice for video editing, but sheesh!

So for future video fan edits, I'll try to get the best video footage in ntsc 24fps/30fps.

  18. phunky204 was asking me about getting the english audio from the DYRL english dub laser disc.

I told him the best I had to offer was the rebuilt audio from the fuzzy english audio DYRL VHS tape that is currently on the COTB.avi 2.2 fan edit.

Does anyone have the Macross DYRL english dub edition laser disc and can capture the audio into a high quality mp3 or .wav file from it?

Also, a couple of questions come to mind for the DYRL laser discs, since I visit the originaltrilogyforum.com website every couple of weeks.

I read on this forum that the original Star Wars 1977 movie has been best preserved by going back to a laser disc capture rather than trying to use the new special edition star wars video to reconstitute the 1977 movie.

Has anybody made a video quality comparison to perfect edition DYRL laser disc with the new DYRL remastered DVD or the perfect edition dyrl DVD?

Would a laser disc to dvd preservation be the way to go to get the best DYRL, if the blu ray DYRL does not appear?

    Just wondering.

  19. 3 days ago, I installed vista x64 service pack 2 through windows update.

Since then, my computer has been locking up programs (dvdfab, handbrake, dvdshrink, explorer.exe) that ran just fine last week and I've had to power off the computer and restart.

I'm uninstalling this service pack until there's a new update to fix the program lock ups.

Just thought I would post this info., so somebody else can avoid this situation.

  20. iMacross4 will remain intact, but (requested deletion)'s Macross Share website will be either restructured or allowed to fade into internet history.

I used babelfish to see what (requested deletion) had originally written in Spanish on his forum to see what ideas he has for Macross Share website.

    Sept.23/09

    "Considered usuary of blog,
Macrosshare created in March of the 2007 crecio of form very fast and cumplio successful its primary target: To collect in a single site all the existing material of macross in the Web (we arrived at 415gb). With time two problems have appeared, the lack of update and ascent of archives, and the subject of the Financing. If they have porfavor time they read both.

    Update of Macrosshare:

To raise to archives the account premium with its respective entrance and the continuous replacement of these exempt time (some are eliminated by reports of illegal material rapidshare). Lamentably no longer I have sufficient time and I cannot follow with the update rate that originally Macrosshare tapeworm.

Gustaria to know to me who this interested in helping to raise archives rapidshare.com through a Collectors Account that I am going to them to provide (Is free do not need to pay nothing). Clearly it is by love to Macross, but they got to exceed accounts (this subject this explained in the financing of the site) the payment sera in rapidshare.com accounts of 1 month. The only requirement is hopefully to have a speed of ascent superior or equal to 512kbps, I hope that the followers of macrosshatr have been from the beginnings of blog can help.

But because rapidshare? that better sites exist, but they must think that 100% of the material already this raised rapidshare and but the important thing is better to have everything in a single account, by the subject of the life archives. Since to raise a file mediafire anonymously or with temporary account it does not give any guarantee of which in 1 year the file follows there

The idea is to maintain everything ordered in a single account, and automatically to move the archives of the Collectors account to the Premium.
If you have a Premium account and you want to contribute, welcome you are. Any other idea that implies to maintain the site to the day sera welcome.
    Contacts: (defunct)@gmail.com

    Financing of Macrosshare:

Originally through the account premium points by each person who lowered a file, thus when having were collected 10000 podiamos points to exchange these points by accounts Premium Rapidshare of 1 month (which are vendian or gave in blog) or with these same podiamos points to expand the duration of the annual account.
Generally these gains most of cubrian the annual costs of the site, these are:
    Dominion Web: 10 USD
    Account Premium rapidshare.com: 81 USD
    ANNUAL TOTAL COSTS: 91USD

Lamentably rapidshare.com change the system for days, and now we have not been able to exchange the points to finance the site completely. Now the gain of points is by users who buy an account rapidshare through ours links. For that reason the publicity of rapidshare.com in the site.

Until now we have collected sufficient points for 3/4 of the payment of the account, but I invite to which think to buy an account does that it this way:

To buy a Rapidshare.com account here.

    Thank you very much!
    Attention(or attn) takes leave,
    Admin"

In a more recent email that I have received from him directly, (requested deletion) states that "If you noticed, there are no new updates on macrosshare, I don't have enough time... and with this new problem (rapidshare 25gb file limit or 3 month file renewals) the objective of maintaining all macross multimedia is uncertain.
The blog needs new updates, so I'm considering a team, I can't do everything. Markcell is one of them, maybe you know him.
Do you want to help also?"

    ********************

From the translated Macross Share forum posting, I think (requested deletion) is saying that currently he's trying to raise funds for his premium Rapidshare account by getting people to get their their own premium rapidshare accounts through a specific weblink that would credit (requested deletion) rapidshare account. That would cut down on his rapidshare server costs.

Last week, I sent (requested deletion) an email about file image uploader software and its file download date renewal function that would bypass rapidshare's current 3 month/25 gb restriction. I'm hoping he found the time to get that done and save the Macross Share files.

Otherwise, it looks like he will be relying on the many people who have downloaded files from Macross Share to take part in making available their rapidshare files on a new Macross Share website. So, that a whole community of Macross file sharers would be sharing through the Macross Share website and not just serviced solely by (requested deletion). He would also need a team of people to keep this new website organized and updated on a regular basis.

After October 20, I think (requested deletion) will write up more specific details of what he'd like for the new Macross Share website.

You can help (requested deletion) on his new Macross Share website by contacting him via email for details: (defunct)@gmail.com

    Than you for your support!

  21. File Image uploader appears to be renewing the download dates.
    Huzzah!!

And it only cost me $4 to get the registration key.

I emailed (requested deletion) with the details, so hopefully he can spare 1 day to get his rapidshare weblinks updated.

    ****************
    UPDATE:

    Done and done.
Back to uploading stuff on rapidshare.
If anybody would like a premium megaupload account good for 3 months of uploading,
then I have one available for $20.
    Pm if interested.

  22. I sent a pm to (requested deletion).

    "Hi (requested deletion):

I was looking over rapidshare in my premium account and found that I can transfer all my files to a rapidshare collector's account.

I know last year I transferred over some Macross files from a rapidshare collector's account to my premium account. I originally opened the collector's account to avoid the same rapidshare upload restriction almost 2 years ago. But, I can't remember if the download time limit changed or that I had to put the transferred files back into premium file folder.

For example, I still have a Macross Frontier and a Macross 7 collector's account folder after I transferred the files from collector's to premium account. I don't remember shuffling the files back into the collector's folder and I still can upload premium files and copy them over into the collector's folder. First premium Macross Frontier file added into the collector's account folder on April 6/08 and Macross 7 on August 8/08.

So, I think it's possible to temporarily change over the premium rapidshare files into a collector's account and then back into the premium account to reset the rapidshare restriction. I would might have to copy the files back into the premium folders.

Does this sound right to you?

    boinger"

I'll see if (requested deletion) concurs or if anybody can confirm my "hypothesis", before I transfer all iMacross4 files back and forth from premium to collector's and back to premium. Maybe, if I had 2 premium rapishare accounts, then this would be easier?

So, no more uploading to imacross4 rapidshare for this week, until I can get this resolved.

    ******************
    Update:

I uploaded 1 jpeg to my collector's rapidshare account. I'll wait one or two days and transfer the jpeg from the collector's account to my premium account. Rapidshare only offers to transfer all all files at one shot either way to collector's or premium account from what I can read from the website. I'll upload one more file and see if I can be selective when transferring files from collector's to premium for tomorrow.

    **********************
    Update:

One day later and I have transferred the collector's files (2 jpegs) over to my premium account. Unfortunately, the download dates do not change at all. So, if I transfer the premium files into the collector's folder, all the files over 3 months will be deleted. That will be over half of the 200 gb of Macross files. No files will be permanently lost, since I do have back ups.

There is one last chance to renew the files by downloading each file a little bit with File Image Uploader sofware http://z-o-o-m.eu/. I sent $4 yesterday to this guy to get the registration key for the software in order to make the rapidshare link keeper functional. Now, I just have to wait for him to email me with the key and get the rapidshare files updated. This appears legitimate, but we'll just have to see if it will work in time.
