I was online all of last night. I know some people are able to connect, but I'm not sure why some are not able.
Could the people who are connecting say
1. what software they are using
and
2. anything about the settings they use on the ftp client software?
Maybe, there's a specific setting that needs to be checked or unchecked to get connected.
when i use smartftp to connect, I just type in the info.

i think my computer was locked up last night.

my abit be6 motherboard doesn't like win xp much.
I can only install or run winxp on the motherboard defaults, so a 800 mhz cpu can only run at 533 mhz. Then I had to find a beta highpoint controller to get my other hard drives recognized by winxp. I eventually figured out that win xp only installs one hard drive at a time. All 3 hard drives needed to have the jumper pins reset specifically so that win xp would not lock up when it couldn't recognize the hard drive. 15 hours later because I just refuse to let this computer and software cost me $50.00 more for computer repairs.
Everything is working and usable.
Hopefully, I don't have to do this too often with win xp.

Going back to Futureshop again with the XP pro upgrade with the 2nd copy of xp upgrade.
I think I would have to let Futureshop install XP for me, so I could be offline for more than a week.
I was finally able to connect back to the internet just now with tech support from MTS. Windows me messed up the tcp/ip info some how.
I tried installing XP 15 times in the last 4 days: 7 win me to xp ugrades, 5 full fat32 formats to win me to xp, 3 NTFS full formats to xp. I still get installation errors from "corrupt or missing files" - sp1.cab, sp2.cab. What a waste of a week. From what I can tell, I would have to upgrade my whole computer before XP would install properly.
I'm back on a fully reformatted windows me, which is working fine now.

imacross4 offline for the weekend.
win me refuses to recognize my canon camcorder! Tried reinstalling. Tried installing win xp pro upgrade 2x and got a completely black screen after the install and no response from computer. At least, I could uninstall and get back to the dysfunctional windows me.
I tried virus check (no viruses), adaware (no spyware), no driver conflicts, sys c:, fdisk/mbr, reinstalling windows me. Uninstalled virus checks or incompatible xp programs, but win xp refuses to start up; just hangs on a black screen after choosing to boot into xp.
looks like I have to do some backing up of my computer and reformat to get to win xp.

I'll be switching to winxp pro upgrade. I'm so fed up with windows me.
So, by the weekend everything will be updated and running smoothly.
I just wonder what happens with winxp registration when I want to upgrade my motherboard, cpu, video card and soundcard?

imacross 3 has switched to mirc contributor to animeskyscraper anime club. You would have to download the MIRC software and go to the animeskyscraper web site for logging on instructions or contact Lu523.
all the rest of the imacross servers seem to be on hiatus.
There's an Imacross FAQ thread for genereal answers to general questions and there is also an ongoing imacross server thread for specific questions or announcements about the imacross servers.
I seem to be the only imacross server left.
Anybody else out there would like to share?

floppy drive needed to be replaced. I needed a new USB cable for the all in one printer and reinstalled windows me. So, printer and scanner are finally working.
Just need to get the canon digital camcorder to work. <_< The camcorder just stopped being recognized by windows me. I'm thinking it's a hardware problem because I just reinstalled windows me. So, I'm going to buy a new firewire and svhs cable. Then I might have to pick a digital camera if the canon camcorder has a burnt out firewire connector.
I just have to spend some money if I want to get selling on ebay by this weekend.

I replaced my broken scanner and printer with hp 2210 psc all in one printer.
Now my camcorder no longer works and the hp sofware hasn't installed properly.
3 hours and still camcorder and printer is not working.
I have to get this camcorder to work because I have to get some stuff sold on ebay this week.
I might have to reformat.

I need to scandisk and defrag. Computer is locking up at least once a day with OE errors. I just formatted this computer last month.

Paid $300.00 US to Blackaces for the 1/72 paper Mac 2 monster on ebay (retail price for the model in Japan was $75.00.)
Maybe I shouldn't have put my high bid up so much? I had sold off 2 1/72 hcm valkyries for $300.00 US to a guy on macrossworld and it felt more like I traded my 2 hcm s for the paper model.
Paper monster is very cool, but I haven't complete it yet. Recently, my printer ran out of ink before I could finish printing out the model. So, now I'm not sure if I would like to finish printing it out on this printer because my epson printer ran out of ink and the software on it sucks and my umax scanner has just died. maybe an all in one printer?

not how it usually happens.
I take the bandwidth limiter off on the ftp server and then only 1 or 2 guys would be downloading at 20 kb/s each and everybody else would be waiting until they are finished. So, I lower the download speed to 4-5 kb/s and 10 people can download instead of only 2 people.

How many mods on macrossworld do we have?
Would the moderator workload be better distributed if each main thread had one moderator or certain moderators could be asked about certain topics/specialties?
I forgot that Roy Focker was not the only macrossworld moderator around because he's posting so much to get this macrossworld forum into some kind of order, so I pm 'd him. No rush order, thanks.
Moderating is supposed to be a "fun" hobby, but I guess not always.

i picked up these macross 7 (ass) episodes from lu523 for imacross4 when he had his imacross3 ftp server online. lu523 has now switched over to a mirc server. I don't know where to pick up the rest of the episodes ( ass version).
maybe lu523 knows.

To access the iMacross servers:
iMacross servers have redirected all files to external file lockers, bittorrents andstreaming videos..
A very good software for free and easy file locker downloading:
jDownloader
Copy and paste web links into jDownloader and enter in your premium or collector's account settings.Good to go!
A recommended bittorrent downloading software isthel uTorrent bittorrent software
1. run the uTorrent bittorrent software
2. top left of uTorrent, "click" file, "click" open, "click" torrent file
3. "click" add file and look on your computer for the downloaded bittorrent file
4. on the same window as (3.), "click" browse to pick a place on your computer to save the full version of the file
5. see how many people are up/downloading on the file
6. go do something else for a couple of weeks, this will take a while.
Note:
For bittorrent sharing: Once you have a full copy, then try to stay online to allow the macross bittorrent to be shared,otherwise the download speed will remain pretty slow.
Pro s:
1. superfast download speed ( when lots of people connected )
2. you can pick up lots of bittorrent seed files and download the whole file or a specific file under a directory for later
Con s:
1. can usually only download or upload 1-2 files at a time
2. bittorrent servers are not always online, but I try to be
3. after a couple of weeks, it looks like everybody who has the file already would not be online to share and downloadthe file to you. So, you have to regularly check anime bittorrent websites for current bittorrent seed files.

The current iMacross servers are online 24 hours a day because all of the files are hosted externally.
2. Why do I get disconnected from the iMacross server?
You might want to recheck your internet connection, network card, router settings or
file locker logon settings in your download sofware.
3. Why is my connection speed so slow?
Check to see if you are doing more downloading than just using file locker downloading.
My internet speeds drop when I'm uploading at the same time as downloading.
4. What video / audio / pictures / manga, etc. files are on each server?
You can browse the blog using the built in search engine to find specific posts or selecta category and see what posts are there.
5. How do I get the video file to work?
( no sound or no video or neither )
Use CCCP video codec package, which includes Zoom playerand Media player classic.
***Once you install, you sometimes have to restart your computer to get the divx software to work.
Double- check that VSfilter/DirectVobSub has "always load" to make sure that the .ass/.ssa subtitlesshow up properly when playing .mkv video files.***

Source of 3ivX codec and DivX Doctor II tool.
ffmpegX is a powerful tool for converting audio/video files.
If you want to view a movie in the IV50 video format , you probably need to use the Classic version of Movie Player.
The mAC3dec codec available on www.insaneness.com can be used in in conjunction with the DivX softwareto hear AC3 tracks in Quicktime. You can also convert the AC3 to AIFF, open in MoviePlayer, and then play
the video and audio simultaneously in separate windows. Primitive, but it works.
7. How do I get the games to work?
Currently Nero burning rom software can do nrg, iso, cue (and bin)I these formats are supported by nero. You can use CDRWin, Clonecd, ImgBurn or Nero burning rom software to make a copy for yourself.
Emulator software for psx, dos, and classic console games is provided in the games folders. You will have to do asearch on the internet to see how to get the games working. The macrossworld games section is a good place to ask.
8. How do I get all these split files to go back into one file??
Use WinRAR software or HJSplit software to reintegrate the rapidshare files into one file.
Check to see if a password is required for reintegrating file with WinRAR software: macrosshare.blogspot.com, archive, etc.9. How can I give back to the iMacross community?
Once you have downloaded a whole lot of Macross goodness, you might feel that you would like to give something back.
II. Start your own file sharing server:
A. If you find that you connections to the imacross servers are just fast enough to download, but not upload then make your files available on Azureus file sharing software.
To enable the built in AZUREUS tracker for sharing your azureus-made bittorrents, you have to enable the azureus built in Distributed tracker/server settings.
1. tools/options/connection - all boxes checked
2. tools/options/plugins/distributed db - all boxes checked, ip and port number open
3. tools/options/plugins/distributed tracker - all boxes checked
4. tools/options/tracker/server - all boxes checked except for 2 passwords and non-blocking option. Open up internet firewall ports http and https.
5. tools/nat firewall test - checking that UDP/TCP firewall port is open
6. see 3 green balls at bottom of azureus window, good to go!
7. consult www.portforward.com for azureus tips for your router
B. Upload files to a file locker and post the web-links in the Macrosshare Cbox or comments section of a blog post.I recommend using a file locker like Send Space or submit a bittorrent onto a torrent website or use Bittorrent Sync
for direct file sharing..
C. You can submit private, password protected videos to Youtube, Vimeo, Veoh or Dailymotion to share withyour friends.

vf-11b fp has a problem with keeping the shield attached to the arm. The shield keeps falling off, no matter how hard I try to press it into the 2 notches on the arm. I guess I'll just glue the shield onto the arm. I think someone had posted that the shield peg could be filed down for a better fit?
I didn't have this problem with the vf11b 1st edition.
I like the way it looks and transforms. There's just this shield problem.
addendum:
Looks like the shield is too curved to lie flat against the arm, so that the pegs cannot be solidly attached. I'll go get my modelling glue.

Last week was just a whole bunch of computer problems with upgrading to win xp pro. Now, the computer is running rather smoothly...until I upgrade the motherboard, cpu, memory and video card for next year when halflife 2 comes out.
