5500 yen comes out to about $47.
Yeah that's more then a decent price.
I'm sure you'll love the book.
Too bad there isn't a hardcover version.
Either way though, the pics are awesome as is the entire book.
Congrats on finding a great price on it too!

Thanks Graham, the pics look great!
This looks superior to any Valk I have ever seen.
Awesome!

I'm guessing just on pure speculation with what the market is like here (ebay etc.) that the max would probably be a little easier to find, simply based on the fact that the low viz was a limited edition release and it's commanding a huge price nowadays. I don't think you'll be finding one at the price it was released at i could be wrong though. Both are just about the hardest to come by valks since they've only each been released once.
Actually I believe the VF-1A Max has been been reissued once. I remember Neova was selling a ton of the 2nd editions for $90 a pop here at MW some time back.
I just regret only buying one at that price, damn!
I agree the Low Viz obviously should be harder to find.
The max also will be difficult for now, but hey if they reissued it once before who's to say they won't do it again?

Funny thing, she recognized the name "Macross World" and could have sworn that she was scheduled to have an interview with this site in the near future. Shawn? Graham? Can anyone confirm this? I'm positive she wouldn't have us confused with Robotech.com. And if this isn't the site she had in mind...let's make it so!Â
Anyway, here's a picture of the beautiful Miss Iijima and myself (modeling only the HOTTEST in geek fashion ):
She probably recognized the name "Macross World" because she attended the Macross World Con last year. Do a search to see some cool pics of her with the some of the guys here at Macross World.
By the way cool pic of yourself with Mari! Print it out and have her sign it the next time you meet her!

Wow every year I ask this and there are always SOME people here that went.
This year no one huh!?!?
Well it was in a new building, and was held on 2 or 3 floors.
Macross items were rare, and expensive if you could find any.
I did buy a good amount of Transformers though.
I go the Pepsi Prime for $45 flat, and reissue Galvatron for $50.
Then I went to another dealer and he was selling the reissue Tranformers for $30 each (minus the expensive ones like Prime & Megs, and Soundwave)
He said if I bought more then 2, I could get them for $25 each. So I bought #11 Astrotrain, #19 Perceptor, #20 Kup & Wheelie, & #18 Blitzwing.
All for $25 each!
I would have bought more, but I had the rest of them. I should have waited for this con to get most of them. I overpaid when I pre-ordered those babies at HLJ when they first came out.
I saw one dealer selling the #13 Hot Rod reissue for #19! I shoul dhave bought it, but passed. Now I regret not getting it. The thing is I already have it, but damn that was a good deal!
The 1/48 Macross were way too overpriced.
The only decent priced Macross I could find was an 80's film comic/manga for $4.
Also those Banpresto catcher machine Transformable Valkyries, one dealer had them for $5 each. Even the ones with the armor were $5!
Other then that, not too many Macross items.
The highlight for me was getting autographs and hanging out with Kevin Smith & Frank Miller. Oh yeah Jim Lee showed up and started sketching for people and he wasn't even on the guest list, that was pretty cool.

Here's everything you need to know about the Samuel L. Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane:
There are snakes on a plane.
Samuel L. Jackson is in the movie.
Samuel L. Jackson beats up snakes.
Samuel L. Jackson uses Mace on a snake.
There are snakes on a plane.
Samuel L. Jackson demanded that the producers not change the name of the film from Snakes on a Plane.
There are Snakes on a Plane.
Now, if that's not enough to get you psyched for this movie, nothing will.

At those prices they must be the Hong Kong bootleg version right?
I do agree though, Macross Plus was awesome and one of my favorites.

HI everyone ,i am a crazy Macross fan in China.First time found this web,i found some friends dont know the Macross cartoon very well.So juat attach the calendar.
As i know,(coz i lived in Japan 4 a while,)the macross series should be :
Macross tv (show on tv about 1981 in Japan)
Macross the movie-Do you remember love (1983 in cinema)
Macross 2 (OVA edition on VHS,VCD,LD.. 1991)
Macross plus (Ova on VHS,VCD,LD.. 1994)
Macross 7 tv( 1997 ON tv)
Macross 7 the movie (about 2-4 movies)
Macross zero (OVA,2003)
expecting some people correct me
OK if no one will make the corrections, I guess I will.
Some dates listed above are incorrect.
1. Macross TV aired in 1982
2. DYRL was in 1984
3. You are missing Macross Flashback 2012 (from 1987 I think?)
4. Macross II (1992)
5. Macross 7 was in 1994 not 1997.
6. Macross7 had (1) movie, and 2 OVA's? (Dynamite & Encore)
7. Macross Zero ran from 2002-2004
Feel free to correct ME if I am wrong, but these are the mistakes that I noticed right off the top of my head.

Sweet!
Nice job TOONZ!!

Like >EXO< said yes it was.
I think this was the 3rd release.
I wish they would also do another run on the VF-1A Max.
I think they probably will at this rate.

Yeah the Kinokuniya in San Francisco & San Jose had a ton of them in stock.
They usually mark up the price just a little past the yen.
So they are a good option.

I believe he's asking about this book:
-
I would actually go for the MP-03 Starscream.
If I didn't have ANY 1/48's, then I would go with a 1/48 of course.
This Starscream has potential to be damn cool though, it's almost like a 1/48 Valk.
A robot that turns to a fighter plane, and will contain a lot of die cast metal. WOW!
-
A good price to me is regular yen price Y4000, which came out for me about $35 + more for shipping to my location.
So anywhere in the low $40's is pretty decent.
-
As far as I know, only the "first editon" Roys had the crooked skull on the tailfin. It was fixed along with the nose cone from the 2nd edition and up. So as long as you get a 2nd edition, 3rd, 4th, 5th, you should be ok.
-
Cheapest place to get a new Milia that I've found (outside of fleabay auctions) - this is about the same price as a Roy w/ fastpacks.
Yes this is true. I've ordered my Millia Super from Neova also.
His price is awesome at $165, shipping to me in California was $25.
So $190 is a super price for a SUPER, and another thing is Neova is one of the very very very few people that still his her in stock.
-
In my opinion the 1/60's are crap.
Sell them, use the money to help you upgrade to the 1/48 line.
Roy's 1S scheme with strike parts is what it sounds like you should get.
Roy is probably the cheapest 1/48 you can get now days because they reissue him a lot. So there is a lot of Roy's VF-1S floating around for you to grab at a great price.
Millia's Super 1/48 is as awesome as hell, but right now a little harder to find.
Probably cost you near $200 at least, or much more.
If you are tight on cash, get the Roy for now.
Sell your 1/60 Roy here at MW, use that cash to help you upgrade to the 1/48 Valks.
That way you won't spend money on a Valk which you already have, which sounds like one of your main concerns.

Great thread!
I guess the plug won't get pulled on it even though it has nothing to do with anime or science fiction.
You know since it was started by a mod and all.
Cool!
