    Macross 0 toys

Let me tell you what I foresee... This will be the first transformable VF-0 toy... You WILL want those like hot cakes no matter what. Even if is made out of cardboard. Wet. Then, you will want buy more when they make some 3 or 4 variations of it... About one year later they will anounce a bigger, better and more expensive model... now with perfect transformation, better sculpt, dream scale and an obscene cost to pay for a toy... It will be the shinny light of your life. That eventually will have more multiple variations on the subsequent months... Make sure to save some dough for a reissue of the same models fixing design flaws after another couple of months... And since they are milking you good, why not push you some nice add-ons for half the price of the original toy? And if half of you didn't file for bankrupcy or are stuck with a couple of loans, release enemy fighter, restart the process. I can't wait...
  2. The sentinel is much better and sturdy in quality. You'll realize is much heavier too, but some care is required. A friend of mine broke one of the tentacles when playing with it. He was bending it and the whole tentacle just snapped out… My advice is to hold the tentacles' base with your hand when bending them to avoid unnecessary stress on the joins. Also, I would love a version of the sentinel with LEDs… can you imagine that thing hanging on the ceiling with glowing red eyes in the dark?
  3. I take relatively good care of my toys. They should not sell a toy that is not supposed to be touched. It is a toy, for Christ sake. And the problem is that those things are already broken inside the box!
  4. I don't have a picture because I returned the darn thing already... sorry about that, I'll snap a picture next time. It is the connection between the left arm and the main body. You can't miss. The problem is that you can't really spot just looking at the box because the toy is all locked with wires. I'm not very happy with that figure myself... but if you manage to take it off, I belive it is the same size of a Gi-Joe... you can put some cool Cobra pilot in there. I Hope it helps. -Limbo
  5. This is just a piece of advice for those considering the Matrix A.P.U. Boxed Set, also known as Mifune's Last Stand. O got the A.P.U. on my local Toys R Us last week, and it was with the left arm broken. Heartbroken, I returned it for a new one, drove 10 miles back home only to find out the same left arm broken again... After a 3rd trip to TRU, got my money back wondering if maybe their lot was screwed during transport or something... so I went to my regular comic shop and buy an A.P.U. ... still on the store I open the box in front of the owner and the same damn left arm was broken!!!! Usually I try to find a way around it, epoxy and crazy glue can make miracles... but this one it is a very sensitive plastic tube that connects the arm to the main body, allowing horizontal rotation. Trying the superglue fix will probably lose or reduce the already limited range of movement of the arm... I try to disassemble but there's a lot of stuff glued blocking the way to the screws that would let me disassemble the toy... Now I'm very apprehensive to get another one because if they are breaking inside the package like that, I'm sure it will snap out later when I'm posing or playing with it. The problem could have been easily avoided with a metal part for the connection, and I’m sure even a better quality plastic would do it. I still think McFarlane Toys have the best sculpts and their paint job is awesome. Too bad their corporate greed is so high that the qualities of their toys are sacrificed in such a way that nobody can possibly consider playing with them.

    1/1 DYRL Helmet

It looks nice to display and stuff... but I doubt anybody in here got the nerve to go outside in that thing...
  7. I'm in south Florida... It will probably be here next week... Oh well... Thanks guys!
  8. I ordered an extra 1/48 FP from HLJ, and trying to save some cash, I selected SAL rates (1,280 yen) instead of EMS (2,800 yen). It was shipped about 2 weeks ago, so by now I'm almost stalking the postman and planning a stealthing mission to the post office to search "my precious"... Does anybody have any prior experience with SAL? What is average for delivery?
  9. You definitely need a stand if you want it on planet mode. The unicron.com stand is not bad, but requires assembling. It cames with a short and a long clear poles, and a black polycarbonate one, but to use with unicron you can ONLY use the black one (The others are made of some kind of flexible plastic and can't handle the weight) You need to use some crazyglue to fix the black pole on both stand parts, and make sure you let it dry before use. Be careful with the crazyglue. It lets a white messy UNREMOVABLE layer when it dries, so you don't want to use too much of it and risk spilling or leaking. (check my stand pics to see what I'm taking about... I had to find on the hard way...) Besides that, the stand is great... You may get a little freaked on the beggining when you see the stand tilting a little bit, but once you find a good stable position, you'll love it! Make some earthquate test on the table, to check if it's stable enough.
  10. Target seems to be the hotspot for Unicrons... I saw two sitting there a couple of days ago...
  11. Yeah... It is a little cartoony, but I don't think it compromises the toy after all... I was thinking in painting it using the movie colors, but I think it would lose a lot of the texture details of the transparent plastic parts... Does anyone tryed to repaint a Unicron yet?
  12. Unicron is out! and it is awesome! Poseablitity is great, and those promotional pictures showing him on planet mode don't make justice to what the toy really is. I seriously recommend getting one of the customized stands at www.unicron.com. Here some pictures of my new planet eater!
  13. 1/72 = 0 pcs. 1/60 = 0 pcs. 1/48 = 3 pcs.
