  1. Lol...I detect a BIT of pent up rage towards Roddy, methinks. Reminds me of when my friend Jessica used to put my Iron Man figures in...um...compromising positions in my old dorm room.
  2. Hot Rod's definitely worth it...great design on the robot and car modes for a character that, love him or hate him, was pretty crucial to a major part of G1 history.
  3. Cybertron was an ok line...had its share of crap figures (Lugnutz and Ransack come to mind), but some pretty good ones too--Primus, Starscream, and Soundwave were excellent, I thought.
  4. He was indeed...turned into a tanker truck and a jumbo jet.
  5. Don't think they ever explained it, but it probably helped make for a dramatic plot device/tactical disadvantage for the Autobots to overcome. That said, the writers/producers also overlooked the fact whenever they wanted to as well.
  6. I remember that episode...saw it somewhat recently too when I was going through my DVD box sets. It was cheesy as hell, yes, but it was pretty cool to see Blaster and Soundwave finally face off. Aside from their battles in the Japanese series Headmasters, they never squared off again in the US cartoon.
  7. *Raises hand* DH, you're on the money with this one. As I recall, the instructions for Grimlock and Wheeljack Alts gave me FITS. Hell, they still do, especially when it comes to manipulating the shoulders and rotating the lower arms to their correct position for vehicle mode.
  8. And I just found some of IDW's TF solicitations for January up at Comic News International...mostly for the animated movie adaptation, the Ultra Magnus spotlight, and Escalation #3. http://comicnewsi.com/article.php?catid=208&itemid=9054
  9. Lol...forgot to add that Ehobby has more pix up of the THS-02B black repaint of Optimus Prime. http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/cgi-bin/omc?port=...&code=tfe24 I really like it...and I can't afford it...
  10. Seibertron and TFW 2005 have news bits up about another upcoming GI Joe/Transformers crossover by Devils Due, with links to some promo artwork as well. http://seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=8666 http://comicnewsi.com/article.php?catid=159&itemid=9052 Also, Don Murphy has apparently confirmed that the head of Megatron will NOT look like what we've previously seen as leaked already.
  11. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Seibertron has an article and link to an interview by Hobby Japan with Kawamori...check it out here: http://seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=8612
  12. Actually, Don Figueroa mentioned the Titanium Ultra Magnus...I believe he even said that the armor won't have to be removed for the transformation. No pix of it yet, though. They're also, according to Don, going to make a two-pack of War Within Prime and Megs, and will correct the floppiness issues that have been cropping up.
  13. Lol...I've never thought of it that way. I haven't been to a BotCon in years...whenever I tell my girlfriend about it and she gets that horrified look in her eyes, I tell her that I'm actually the closest thing to normal at the convention.
  14. Bruticus Maximus from the Energon line was actually pretty ok, at least in terms of toy design and overall appearance of the gestalt. But I also wasn't entirely fond of the fact that there wasn't much difference in terms of individual vehicles for the limbs. Superion Maximus suffers the most from it, I think.
  15. Nice decal sheet. For whatever reason, one of the things I always looked forward too was applying decals. Kind of takes me back to when I built models as a kid...I enjoyed taking the time to pay attention to detail and fine placement. Gonna be hard to decide which insignias to put on him whenever I get him.
  16. As an FYI, since BotCon is going on this weekend, one of the Hasbro reps apparently said that if Hasbro brings MP Screamer to the states, they'd release him in his G1 colors. This was reported on either Seibertron or TFW 2005, I think.
  17. More pix of the dealer room from BotCon are up at TFW 2005...check the link to see some pix of the upcoming Rumble and Ravage Alternators. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=111781
  18. Interesting update from BotCon...apparently, one of the extra features on the TFTM 20th anniversary version of the movie is Scramble City. No audio, though...sounds like Hasbro wasn't able to get the rights to it. Supposed to have fan commentary, though.
  19. Thanks for the links, twoducks and wolf. All they did was whet my appetite even further for these toys...which I REALLY can't afford right now. Keep an eye on Seibertron and TFW 2005's websites...BotCon is this weekend, so there'll probably be some news updates that we want to hear about.
  20. I like that black Prime too...reminds me of the Nucleon Quest repaint of Powermaster Prime from several years ago. If I had the money, I'd get him right away...but I'm trying to save up for MP Starscream as it is.
  21. I actually just picked up Alt Prime, and I have to admit that I'm enjoying him more than I thought I would. I agree that the lower legs are too long and that his alt mode is still more suited to Ironhide or Trailbreaker, but he's pretty cool nonetheless. Now, if I could only find Mirage...
  22. Looks interesting, especially since it's the first Alt to NOT transform into a humanoid form. Makes sense for it to be Ravage, since the car's a Jag. And, of course, I'm curious to see who they'll make the repaint into. Steeljaw, perhaps?
  23. Prime was at the Walmart earlier when I picked up Megs today...I'm still trying to figure out if I have the money to afford him. And god help me if I see Alt Mirage or Alt Prime...I still haven't seen them in stores yet, and I want them BAD.
  24. I was wondering when we'd get the fourth incarnation of this thread. Just picked up the 6 inch Titanium series Megatron--the tank version. Now that I've opened him, I'm kind of torn about the figure. On one hand, he looks pretty cool, and the die-cast construction is pretty solid. On the other hand, it took as long to get him out of the twist ties as it took me Armada Unicron...and he's floppy as hell. Really weak hip and shoulder joints.
