Picked up GOW2 today, and it's fantastic...
-
I did not see 28 Days (I don't like scary movies or zombies...) but my friend made me go see 28 Weeks and I loved it! Very bleak and dreary happenings... I will definitely go out and get 28 Days and see it now. I would also certainly enjoy a 28 Months/Years if they come out. It wasn't a super scary movie, but it had some suspense and my friend who likes scary movies nearly pooped his pants in one scene... I'm debating going to see it again. It was really interesting and alot of fun.

Mospeada 1/48 Inbit models?
promethuem5 replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Actually... there's a great epoxy I use called JB Kwik Weld that you could use to line the sockets on the resin side... the RT joints have a nice smooth finish that the Weld would shape to but not really bond with, so you could epoxy the RT joint in place while it dries, then remove the joint and have a perfectly sized slightly flexible socket liner... it's kinda odd to explain, but it works and I do it all the time... -
Ha, yeah, eugimon, I'm right behind you... it is a luxury market.
-
There was a line-art drawing in the Feb Hobby Japan I think... nothing great tho. Graham has a prototype shot or two in his WF report on the main page... there may be more I don't know about, but I don't recall any good big pics yet.

So... uhh... how far back DO you still have molds? I might be interested in one maybe...
-
Do you really dispose of the molds when they are done?
-
I can understand ya on the plastic... but still, your comments on the 19 itself, even you can admit those are minor niggles and not deal-breakers, right? I have always thought about the shoulders in fighter mode myself, but I really don't notice it all that much.
-
I've gotta go with VM here, but probably for me because I've just never really gotten a Yamato toy that had issues so that I could not enjoy it. The crooked gunpod on the 19 is annoying, but I find nothing else the matter with it except I had to make the landing gear spread... the neck is as big a deal as many have made it out to be (aside from the few people who have had the neck break) and the rest of the toy is great, and gorgeously made. Even with this I see no reason to not buy more 19s if I wanted aside from the price... there are just not too many deal breakers with Yamato toys for me. The ONLY things that have made me ever stay away from Yamato products were the VF0 shoulders and the Garland's shoulders... I own one 0A and love it, but it has floppy shoulders that are cracked, and I have not bought a Garland. I own 1/48 VF-1s, 1/60 VF-1s, the whole Mac+ 1/72 line (which I LOVE), the new 19, a Koenig Monster, and two Scopedogs plus every available accessory set... and so far the only thing I have not liked are the 0A and Garland shoulders... I buy plenty of first run toys and have never had a real problem... alot of this stuff just isn't that big a deal... I cannot understand some of you guys like flipping out at some hapless new guy who happens to like the toy just because some of you have gotten a little overexcited...
-
It's not a financial pain to get the Scopedog figure first... it's just having to find it. And, like you said, it's not like I don't already have plenty of other Scopedog toys to play with that I can't bear waiting for the possibility of a combo set. The real clincher to me is which will come out first... the Yamato or DMZ RSC weapons sets? I've already got my RS Scopey for the Yamato set...

Probably static pose as I'm sure it's not all that tall...

Whole lower half, huh? I'm still waiting from an email response from HLJ cuz they are just getting off Golden week. I expect them to do the same for me.

Mospeada 1/48 Inbit models?
promethuem5 replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've thought about that myself... I modded cap's Tomahawk to be fully posable with WAVE Ball joints and Kotobukiya and extra Gundam polycap joints... but Revoltech joints would be a whole nother animal... the biggest problems would be hollowing out enough room for the ball, and mounting some kind of poloycap material for the shafts to ride in, as they would just slip out of a resin socket... interesting idea tho... if they start making RT joints more readily available, I can see myself spending alot of time working with them on various projects. -
Yeah, those missiles on the 1/12 you really gotta push into their clip, but a good bump will still send them tumbling out. CG ATs could be good, but they are going to have to be some really gritty and detailed models to impress me... M0 stuff was good, but I think they could be better still. Just finished Kummen Jungle Wars myself... gotta pick up set 3 next! I LOVE this series.

Is the DMZ RSC going to be available as a set? The toy consumer whore in me wants to try a DMZ, and unless they release a Turbo Custom, the Red Shoulder scopey is the only one I would consider... I like playing with my Yamato Red Shoulder (I'm really puttin it thru its paces Graham, and having the Chirico figure is alot of fun as well!) but you guys have such nice things to say about the DMZs, and I do like the paint jobs on them...

Aoshima Variable 1/48 Legioss for 2007
promethuem5 replied to Save's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can easily see myself buying the CMS set and both Mospeada figures, but I would need to see alot of improvements over the MPC for me to buy the Aoshima one. -
Mospeada 1/48 Inbit models?
promethuem5 replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Interesting idea... I might be interested, but if this goes successfully, I'd be even more interested in the one Ghadrak posted -
Haha, well, I gave up on the HCM Sazabi and ordered it a month ago from HLJ and it came in no time... was on sale as well from HLJ so that worked out great... the ESazabi looks to be on the same boat as the HCm for BBTS bc/ it's still getting bumped each and every month so I might end up getting it from HLJ as well... dunno wtf is up with BBTS's Gundam toy supplier.
-
I'm sure the ESazabi does look rubbery and soft, but that's okay because I want the ESazabi to go wtih my Revoltech-type figures... I've got the HCM Sazabi as well and it is a gorgeous figure, but they are more for display IMO and the PVC type figures are actually pretty fun to fool around with all the time and get some real play value.

Anasazi Decals now available through Robographics
promethuem5 replied to Anasazi37's topic in The Workshop!
It would be a really big shame for a few whiners to have ruined what looked to be a great solution to our decal gig... -
Yeah, LRS is simply awesome. So much great action, and the quality is just that much better than the TV series...

The ESazabi looks great... wonder when mine will come from BBTS

The movie suit does look good, but I must admit Adi Granov's Iron Man work has never been my favorite...
-
Fewture releases have typically had significant die-cast content, and I think they are usually around 8 inches tall? Check collectiondx.com for Fewter Chogokin reviews...
