the armored VF-0 actually hovered for a while over the water while Roy unloaded his missiles on Ivanov, after that he boosted it towards the deck of the carrier, so i think the VF had engines powerful enough for the mobility of the armored Battloid from the beginning, considering that the VF-4 was the first variable fighter capable of leaving Earth atmosphere on its own power I would guess technology progress far in in Macross Frontier to allow the VF fast movement with the armor even if somewhat restricted.

Ranka is actually a human form vajra and it is remembering from when they destroy that ship and the flashback was from her vajra point of view Can anyone identify the ship that is destroyed? it seems to be the size of a VF unless that red vajra in the flashback is bigger than the ones that attacked M25. About Ranka and Ozma, if you lost all your family would you want your only family member left or guardian to be in a job that would put him in danger at every moment? I really hope Ozma doesn't die. For a variable fighter that is still in testing, the VF-25 has a lot of add-ons, I am guessing that like the VF-0 it is still in testing but all ready in production.

Now they control the PPB with Wiimotes I thought that the system was upgraded in the Macross to make it automatic after figuring that the whole trackball thing wasn't very efficient. What i like about Macross is that there i not that much technobabble, the VF's still use missiles and bullets in there guns, and whatever energy weapon they use every now and then, is limited due to overheating, needing to recharge or has some kind of logical drawback.
