  1. Cap, are those of us using a 1A for the "donor" valk going to be short on head laser screws?
  2. Likewise, I'm on the list but would like to specify "unpigmented".
  3. I am definitely down for at least 1. The color matching also concerns me. Color matching to the existing Yamato gray would be great. That way I won't have a "frankenvalk" sitting on my shelf utnil I've developed my painting skills to the point where I'd be willing to customize a $150 toy.
  4. I just finished this kit a couple nights ago and I had the same problem with the screws. They don't want to unscrew without wrecking the spring. I grabbed the end of the spring with the screw in it with a pair of needlenose pliars to keep the spring from uncoiling while removing the screw, and it worked out fine. The trick is, to not grab the spring so tight that you scuff it with the pliars or pinch it to the threads of the screw. I also came across some spare screws from a dell laptop case that worked much better than the ones that came with the kit. The threads were much smaller and tighter together and almost perfectly fit the thin wire that makes up the spring. I'll have to see if I can scrounge up a few more.
  5. Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone Krull Cherry 2000 Hudson Hawk Movies the stars would never put on their resumes, but I can't get enough of. Someone else mentioned Ice Pirates; haven't seen that since I was a kid.
  6. The MB and CPU are brand new and while the rest was second-hand, they were like new. I slapped everything together, fed the CDs and everything worked fine. A couple days later, I got a call that it wasn't powering down all the way. I've tried a variety of settings and reassembling, but with no luck. My next step was to wipe the system and reinstall from the BIOS up (I was actually looking forward attempting an updated BIOS as i've never done that before) since there wasn't anything on it to lose. But she decided that she doesn't mind flipping the switch on the PSU after shutting down Windows. Saved me some work I guess, since other than that, everything works fine.
  7. Sweet! I'm glad this thread came up. I slapped together a bunch of spare parts so a relative could have a computer on their desk and got the same problem in reverse. Boots fine and runs fine, until shut down. After a few days, the system started to hang after Windows shut down. Fans, HD and the such but now power shut down. Not even "It is now safe to turn off your computer". The damned reset button wouldn't even work. The system works fine except you have to switch to power supply off to power down. I was ready to give up (after a lot of part swapping and googling) but now i'll try the PSU. Thanks gang. Is it me, or does "Macross Fan" seem to go hand-in-hand with IT professional, expert modeller and photoshop whiz-kid? And how many military/police personnel do we have? A lot of skills i'd like to have seem to be prevalent around here. Kudos to you guys.
  8. I've seen mechamaniac's pics of Rhoby's masterpiece and it looks absolutely amazing. The JM's never really captured my attention, but this looks like it can't be passed up. Including fp's! Wow! My only question is, will this be a toy or a kit? (preassembled, painted, etc.?) $100+ is pretty steep and how much work a novice like me would have to put into it, may be a deciding factor. This thing has my jaw on the floor, though. If they go for 115-130 shipped in the US, i'm down for one. Excellent work Rhoby. You could put some actual toy companies to shame.
  9. Put me down for one, andy. Can't wait to see what the cap cooks up for us.
  10. OMFG My wife would divorce me if i spent half that much money on toys. Where are you buying your toys that you managed to get 14 valks (11 of which are armored) for less than $2K? I can't find a shipped armored 1/48 for less than $200.
