When you say the new Gundam: One Year War controls like a FPS, do you mean like last year's Transformers game, or more recently, like Star Wars: Battlefront or Mercenaries? That sounds like it'd be pretty cool. I also have a lot of respect for the games Namco develops, although I'd go so far as to say that they either have a hit on their hands or a turd when they develop a new game. I've played some awesome games by them, but I've played some games I've hated, too... but rarely a game by Namco that I thought was kind of just "eh." A.C.E has been intriguing me for awhile, not so much for the other mecha, but for the Gundam mecha. Also, I've heard that it plays fairly similarly to Zone of the Enders. I loved both Z.O.E games on the PS2, although I thought they were both ridiculously short. If you've played both A.C.E and Z.O.E, would you say that they're similar? As for the Gundam SEED games, I'm going to take a pass, for now. SEED is Bandai's cash cow, both in Japan and in the States. They've got a SEED game coming out domestically in June. I might check it out then.

To be truthful, I'm terrible with strategy. Usually, anything with the words "strategy" or "tatics" in the description is an instant turn-off for me. I appreciate the suggestion, but I think I'll have to take a pass on that one.

Okay, as a Gundam fan, I'm thinking about importing some Gundam games for PS2 However, their track record has been less than stellar. Of the American ones, I've tried them all except for Battle Assault 3. I loved Feddie vs. Zeon (and preordered Gundam Vs. Z Gundam), enjoyed Encounters in Space, and pretty much hated Journey to Jaburo and Zeonic Front. Oh, and I did import AEUG vs. Titans already. Now, of the Japanese games... it just seems like there's so many. Which ones were the ones that got renamed and ported over here? Of the remainder, which ones are good, and which ones are less than good? If a good number of them are rehashings of the One Year War, what makes the good ones worth playing? Does anyone know if the newly released One Year War game was any good? And what's up with these Gundam the Best games? On a semi-related note, is A.C.E - Another Century's Episode any good? I was going to buy it when it came out, but my import shop never stocked it. Is it worth $68 from NCSX? Might as well ask this too, but has anyone dealt with NCSX before? Are they good to order from?

Anyone in this thread read EGM, and see the current issue's Vs? For those who aren't familiar, every issue they have a small vs. box where they have a game go up against something that sounds like the game (my personal favorite was Donkey Kong Jungle Beat vs. Beating a Donkey in the Jungle). The current match was Star Wars: Republic Commando vs. Arnold in Commando. A1, you'll be happy to know that Arnold won by a large margin.

I couldn't resist... I got that bastard tuna right in the face...

That seems odd, but I can offer maybe one suggestion, because my friend had a similar problem. When you load the mp3 onto the PSP, after the computer looks like it's done and after the loading bar on the PSP is full, wait a few more seconds. My friend said that it looks like the computer and the PSP are done, but it's still accessing the Memory Stick.

Ghost Rider movie thread
mikeszekely replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
From what I read, the movie Ghost Rider will borrow elements from both the Blaze Ghost Rider and the Ketch Ghost Rider... but it'll be Nick Cage as Johnny Blaze as Ghost Rider. Not a Ketch in sight. -
Ghost Rider movie thread
mikeszekely replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm with Max. The original Ghost Rider story was the kind of cheesy one-shot that you'd expect in a book dedicated to cheesy one shots... which it essentially was (Marvel Spotlight #5-11). Even though the Blaze/Zarathos Ghost Rider launched the series, the Dan Ketch/Noble Kale Ghost Rider was much more suited to a superhero book. If I'm reading things right on the net, the Dan Ketch Ghost Rider story was never fully resolved, and they just kind of launched into a volume 3 with Johnny Blaze again possessed by Zarathos and transforming into the Ghost Rider. While the bike in the upcoming movie looks a lot more like Blaze's bike than Ketch's, Blaze's bike was largely unremarkable. With the demonic bone and skull design, I'd go so far as to say that it actually reminds me a bit of Vengeance's bike. -

Variable Fighter Spartan Destroid
mikeszekely replied to wolframbane's topic in Movies and TV Series
This is way better than my stuff. In hindsight (which is always 20/20), I would've made the variable Spartan more like the original, with the fighter and gerwalk modes looking more boxy and utilitarian. think of it this way- Which looks more sleek and sophisticated, the F-22 Raptor or the A-10 'Hawg? Now, which one looks like a tough hombre who can kick some mean ass, the F-22 Raptor or the A-10 'Hawg? If I were to do it again, I would go for more of an A-10 feel. p.s.- on a side note, when I did the Variable Spartan, some member (I can't recall whom) thought the idea of a Variable Destroid was silly. The, a couple of months afterwards, the same guy couldn't stop talking about how much of a genius Kawamori was for designing the VB-6 Konig Monster... WDC, let me start by telling you that your Variable Spartan design looks awesome. I have to ask, though... what role would it serve? Whereas most Destroids seem to have a specialized role, the Spartan always struck me as a sort of jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none mass-produced alternative to the VF-1's Battroid mode. Take a Spartan, add the costly transformation system, and I'd kind of think that we're back at VF-1. I'll say, though, that your Variable Spartan looks more heavily armored than a VF-1, more like a VF-3000. And you did already draw a comparison between the F/A-22 and the A-10. Would you have a Variable Spartan serve more of an attacker role? Sorry if I sound a little critical... I honestly do like your Variable Spartan, and I do think it's a better idea than a Variable Glaug. As for the VB-6, the fact that it has a Battroid mode is a waste. I mean, what for? The idea of a Monster that can turn into a shuttle/bomber to get from point A to point B makes sense, though. -
From what show are these pictures?
mikeszekely replied to Laserstorm's topic in Movies and TV Series
Niether did I until I turned off my firewall. It's actually a link. Very strange... Anyways, I've never regretted getting a Saturn just to play that game. Makes me want to hook it up and spend the weekend flying my valk. Was there honestly a huge difference between the Saturn version and the PSX version? I got the PSX version... I'm suprised no one's mentioned those keychains. I sure as hell wish I had a super-deformed Macross hanging from my keys... -
Great...now there's gonna be about 200 of us pouncing Dell for those 1gig memory sticks... I'm not... people I know have had problems with Dell. That and, since I live in an apartment, I'm leery of ordering expensive stuff and then having the mailman leave it in front of my door. Or worse, UPS. Twice now the UPS guy in charge of my area had marked that he attempted delivery and no one was home, but since I track my packages, I had been deliberately sitting at home waiting. On one of those occasions, he did bring it the next day after I complained to his supervisor. On the other occasion, I had to drive a half hour out of my way to go pick up my package at their HQ. Again, complained to the supervisor.

Shockwave! Damn thats so foolish of me! But hell no to Brawn...I'd rather have Mirage or Bluestreak... I cheered when Brawn got blasted in TF:The Movie! Mirage! How could I forget Mirage!

I have a 512 MB stick, and while I haven't actually tried getting any Macross on it yet, I've found that the 512 is good for about an hour and a half of video, depending on the settings you use to convert your video files and the size of the orignal video file itself. Screw $450 2GB Memory Sticks. Last I checked, they're Duo PRO High Speed (which the PSP can read, but only as a regular PRO), and are more suited for professional digital photography. I'm just going to hang in there for another month. Then Gamestop will start to carry the 1GB for around $150.

Tell the PSP to figure out everything automatically, and make sure your router is set to "Mixed B/G" mode since the PSP doesn't work with G.

Doesn't Sony replace PSP units with dead pixels? Sometimes. Maybe. They're encouraging people to play with their PSPs to see if any dead pixels bother them, and if they do, they'll handle it on a case-by-case basis. Almost everyone I know with a PSP that has a dead pixel, both personally and on the boards, has stated that their dead pixel doesn't bother them.
-
You gotta have Shockwave and Brawn, too.

And it IS an adaptation of G1. A straight up origin story. I was afraid that a live action TF movie would look like ass, but after seeing the Citroen commercial with the breakdancing car/robot, I'm convinced that they actually could make a sweet-looking live action TF movie. Realistic-looking CGI Optimus = kick ass movie, reguardless of plot.

Robotech used in a Public Service Announcement
mikeszekely replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sticks & Stones, my friend..Sticks & Stones, Ha! BTW, at least HG aligning their product with an orginization that deals with making world a better place to live. Really? Which one? In any case, at least Big West comes up with some original content now and again. In 20 years, all HG has is Robotech, and even that wasn't really original. Original content let's see......Macross 2......Macross 7....Countless Macross video games..... This isn't about which orgnization is better, to me they're both rich fat cats that are doing the same thing. Sell, sell, sell, and sell. List of Big West Anime Macross, Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Dynamite 7,Macross Zero Getter Robo Go Idol Tenshi Youkoso Yoko Irresponsible Captain Tylor Orguss, Orguss II Southern Cross Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer Yeah, everyone is in the business of making money. But at least most companies turn out something new every so often. -
Oh, right... no, like I explained, your save game stuff goes on the Memory Stick. If creating the folders by hand doesn't work for you for mp3s and what not, try moving your game save data to your PC, then format the Memory Stick and move it back.

CRT is definately the way to go if you want a smaller TV. But if you want a bigger TV, CRT sets are simply to large and heavy, and the picture seems dimmer the larger you go beyond 36" JsARCLIGHT, I don't think DLP TVs are really any larger/thicker than RP LCD. LCD computer monitors are pretty thin, but also relatively small. At the 44" size, they're both between 14"-15" deep.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but if you never formatted it, and you still saved games on it, it's fine. You just need to create the rest of the directories yourself. When browsing the PSP's Memory Stick (for the sake of discussion, let's say your PC named it 'I'), you should have two folders. I:\MP_ROOT I:\PSP Unless you want to watch movies, you don't need the MP_ROOT folder. (For those of you that do want to watch movies, there should be another folder inside, I:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01, and all of your movie files go in there. Remember, they must be in the mp4 format, and they must be named M4Vxxxxx.mp4 where xxxxx is the number of your movie. If you have two movies, they would be M4V00001.mp4 and M4V00002.mp4). Inside the PSP folder, there should be four folders (if you already have save data, the PSP must have created one of them already). I:\PSP\GAME I:\PSP\MUSIC I:\PSP\PHOTO I:\PSP\SAVEDATA Pretty self explanitory. GAME is where games that can load from the Memory Stick (like future Emulators) would go. MUSIC is where you put your mp3s, and PHOTO is where you put your jpg files. SAVEDATA should be the one that's already there, and that's where your game save files and your Network Settings file go.

If by that they mean whoring their bastard series for 20 years with almost no original content to show for it, then that'd be accurate, right? -

Yessir! So... actually... I was kind of thinking it'd be better if they used Voltron instead of Robotech. Everyone likes Voltron.
