  1. Awesome. I probably won't be on Xbox Live until maybe Sunday when my buddy's coming over to play Castle Crashers, but I'll definitely be playing WipEout later, so I'll send you a PSN invite today.
  2. Yeah you will. I just sent you an invite. eugimon, what's you're PSN ID? I have a couple of people on my Friends list, and I think about half of them are from MW, but I'm not sure who's who.
  3. I'm not sure what New PRP is, but the new retail price is actually going to be $359.99.
  4. Did it take you long to download? I started it around 6:00, and it wasn't done until almost 9:00. Anyway, I also only did a few races. It reminds me more of Pulse than Pure, but they're both fantastic games, so I can't complain, but as a long-time fan of the series, I do wish there would have been some tracks from WipEout XL and Wip3out.
  5. The hardest part about the Robot Master revisited levels in MM3 was that there was no gate before the first boss fight, so if you died you started at the beginning. For a lot of the massive pits and spike traps, you had Rush for by then. So I'd really say that MM9 is harder. Imagine, if you will, the dropping platform at the beginning of Gutsman's stage in Megaman 1. Remove the dropping part, but have it rotate so that you'll fall if you jump at the wrong time. Add some spikes, then drag it out for half a level. For the other half, you take that rain-pushing-you-back-when-you-jump effect from Toadman's stage (Megaman 4), then add single-Megaman-wide platforms and falling umbrellas. Congratulations, you have Tornado Man's level. To be really honest, I'm still not even sure the best way to do some parts. There's a store, sorta like Megaman 7's, where you can change screws for items. For one room in Jewel Man's stage, I bought an item that lets you survive a hit from spikes one single time, then took the hit to drop under a moving platform. My final bit of advice is this: if you really think you're going to get a PS3 soon, wait and get MM9 for it. I think the 360 controller has a great feel for a lot of games, but the d-pad just sucks too much for Megaman. I did play a little of MM9 on the PS3 today (I wanted to play WipEout HD more), and the control just felt a lot tighter to me than on the Wii. It looks a little fuzzy, though. If you've ever played NES or SNES roms on your PC with an emulator, and you set some filters to smooth the edges, you'll know what I'm talking about. For some, that might be a reason to go Wii, but for me, controls are more important (not to mention I have issues with my Wii's video output, but that's a story for another day).
  6. Heh, I won't say that I can't. I only gave it one go on the Wii. But yeah, it's hard. I mean, Megaman has always had its share of pits and spikes, but Inti Creates made a game of nothing but pits and spikes. Enemies are almost an afterthought. So, the Robot Master levels are like the Wily levels in the old games, and the Wily levels are... like Super Wily Levels, I guess.
  7. I'm not sure. I mean, yeah, any drive will do. I think the PS3 can reformat the drive itself, though. The drive should be FAT32 for the PS3; there's issues with FAT where a partition can only be a certain size, so depending on the drive you get/borrow, you might want to partition it with a computer.
  8. Well, I broke and bought the Wii version on Monday. The levels were clearly designed by sadists. I managed to beat the 8 Robot Masters, but none of the Wily levels. Currently downloading it on the PS3. Neither the Wiimote held sideways nor the Classic Controller felt right to me. Despite talk in some circles of Megaman beginning on a Nintendo console, and despite the fact that MM9 is done in the spirit of those Nintendo games, I've spent the last decade playing Megaman on Sony consoles... including the Megaman Anniversary Collection, with the first 8.
  9. Currently downloading it and Megaman 9.
  10. 2.5" SATA, like the kind that goes in a laptop. The best way to back up the old one, AFAIK, is to connect a portable USB hard drive, and run the PS3's backup utility.
  11. Is it just me, or is Kilmer getting worse at being KITT? And yeah, Attack Mode is an eyesore. And the plot makes no sense. But the preview for the next episode looks promising. Death races in the desert? That's pretty much what the old Knight Rider show was about.
  12. Maybe this one? Yeah, I've never heard of them either, but a reviewer claims it worked on 64-bit Vista for him.
  13. Well, for one thing, the PS3 uses 2.5" drives, not the 3.5" drives used by desktop computers. 2.5" drives don't come in 1TB (yet). I think they just hit 500GB.
  14. Specifically, there's a cutscene after you fight Vader in the hall. At the end of the cutscene, you'll be standing on a bridge. Run to the end of the bridge to fight the Emperor for the Jedi ending, or jump off the bridge to fight Vader again for the Sith ending. If there's more endings than that, I don't know what they are or how to get them. I don't really care, either. I'm probably going to sell the game this weekend.
  15. I didn't like that Grimlock mold enough to get another of a fairly obscure character... especially when Overkill was a dinosaur that turned into a tape, not a dinosaur that turned into a robot. That Prime mold is pretty crappy too, and not all that different than the first time they released it. But like yourself, I'm definitely interested in Dragstrip, since Mirage's mold was pretty good and I could always use more Decepticons. I'm thinking about the Megatron, too. I actually kinda liked that mold, aside from the lame right arm. Since I already have both Classics Megatrons, I think the Voyager one could be Megatron, the green one could be Brawl, and the white one could be Straxus (ala the Megatron clone from the old Marvel comic book). EDIT: Another advantage to that Megatron mold is that his gun (which I don't think he needs) fits nicely in Bumblebee/Cliffjumper's hands.
  16. *shrugs* Maybe I heard wrong. Or maybe it's day on the HD systems, night on the PS2/Wii? I can't remember.
  17. At least when they reused environments, especially Kashyyyk, it felt to me like they took pains to keep the levels from being too similar to the first run. EDIT: Maybe less so for those of you playing on the PS3. I heard that the Vader intro level is during the day on the 360, and night on the Sony consoles.
  18. Protoman DLC coming to Megaman 9. Finally. I've only wanted him as a playable character since Megaman IV.
  19. *offers JB0 an icepack* Oops, I missed "home" between your capital letter words. *rescinds icepack offer* Aria could have stood to me more challenging, yeah (DoS was). But the Soul system was simply the best magic system since Symphony, and after Circle and Harmony, I was glad to have weapons beside a whip. I maintain that Aria was the best of the three GBA Castlevanias. You've really just described the reason I'm not even considering the Wii. The only reason I might buy it is because, between Monday and Thursday, I break down with the need to play it. Achievements are the reason I could see myself buying it on 360 after finishing it on PSN.
  20. Actually, I was just thinking the other day that A New Hope was, what, 31 years ago? In modern Hollywood, that means it's due for a remake.
  21. The aftermarket prices are ridiculous, sure, but the set was $300 originally, right? Leave out Dreadwind and Bugbite, and I might have considered $90 for the three Seekers, figuring that three times what they were worth was enough gouging.
  22. I don't buy that at all. They could have released Thundercracker instead of Ramjet, or at the same time as Ramjet. They could have released him as a store exclusive like they did with Skywarp. Hasbro chose not to, with same lame excuse about not wanting too many of that mold on the shelves. Later they release Acid Storm, and it seems they're going to re-do Starscream now? It also seems to me that, if Hasbro can release Starscream in Classics, then repaint him and release him again in Universe, that Hasbro would be well within their rights to release Thundercracker, as long as the paint was different than Botcon. And I'm sorry, the ridiculous Botcon prices do NOT fit my definition of "viable."
  23. Rented the Blu-ray. I'm glad I didn't see it in the theater, but it wasn't a bad way to kill an evening on video.
  24. Megaman 9 release dates And they're soon! Day after tomorrow for the Wii (9-22), Thursday (9-25) for the PlayStation Network. Poor Xbox 360 owners have to wait until October 1st, though. As obsessed as I am with Megaman, I could very well buy all three versions, but if I had to choose just one, I guess I'm going with PSN. The PlayStation controller just seems like the most comfortable for a Megaman game right now.
