  1. I have enough real books so I don't need something passing off as a book. Not to mention my bookshelves are full.

I think the best packaging has to be the original Takatokus or the 1/55 Bandais (not the 1990 Super though).

  2. Normally I don't bother with ebay/half.com stuff, but for this guy I make a definite exception. Order a book from giantbookstore Friday night and it gets here Monday morning, and the people are in HK. Definitely would do business with them again (not to mention the book was less than half they charged in the bookstore).

  3. Okay, here's what everyone should do if he screwed you with an ebay item (if you know of anyone else that got screwed and isn't a member here, send the link to them too). Use the following link and report him to ebay about it. They actually take complaints about sellers seriously (unlike buyers) and if enough people complain, they will get him banned from ebay permanently.

  4. After Takatoku was liquidated, Bandai picked up the SDF-1 mold. Some were made and sold under the Robotech line but with Bandai and Macross on them. Then they were released with Matchbox and Harmony Gold (and Robotech on them). They wound up being licensed by Matchbox and they didn't actually own the molds (I believe this was confirmed by some of the HG people at a panel somehere like a year ago).

  5. I got this from amazon when it first came out. It's decent, but I don't think it's worth $15 for stuff one can easily find online.

Although I did like the fact that they brought in their own Macross stuff for the pictures (as is obvious due to the yellowing some of the toys have). It's also somewhat annoying that there was a lot of stuff not pictured (they go through every Yamato Valk and don't have the Destroid Monster there).

I believe the reason the monster pix is in there, is because the book was make prior to the release of the monster pix and any news about it.

My bad. I meant the Takatoku Monster, not the Koenig one (which I have no interest in).

  7. But the "other side" needs lots of work. Agent One and I were talking about integrating the board and the main page... making it smoother... but Shawn is ever elusive.

I think everyone has noticed it needs a lot of work. And wasn't there supposed to be a Christmas update too? (Shawn didn't say which year though)

  8. I've come to the conclusion that customs everywhere (except for the US, we don't seem to care) is horrible.

That being said, the USPS is just horrible. Anything to continental Europe takes forever. 2+ weeks to Italy (EMS). But this is the best. Something I sold on ebay and had it shipped (strangely the guy didn't e-mail any questions about it so I just assumed customs didn't update it), although the guy paid for EMS (they say 3-5 days).
