Hi-Metal R
in Toys
I like how amiami's listing calls it the "Destroyed Monster" , I mean sure the destroids usually blew up, but the Monster was never really shown being blown up.
Unless you count the suspiciously small ones used for target practice in the tutorial of Macross 30

For some reason, after playing Leynos 2 (my introduction to the series) back on the Saturn, I could never quite picture the AS looking like that. Same goes for the Valken.

Bandai would never release a toy that needed a stand to stay upright!
Speaking of which, I recently tried attaching my HMR 1S to one of the Tamashii act stands I got. Wow they really are pieces of sh**. Really unacceptable being a sold-separately accessory rather than an included item.
Which Act stand was it?
My understanding is that you need an Act 5 for mecha figures.
Also why is it bad?

ThreeZero stuff is very different from what you get from bandai or Yamcadia. Plastic feel will be very different, everything will be painted and weathered like this or even more so:
pose-ability will be decent but not amazing. it'll almost certainly come with a fully articulated in-scale pilot that has a full fabric costume and will look excellent standing up but will be incredibly fiddly to handle. it'll also cost like $400USD.
look into the threeZero Titanfall mechs for a good idea what it'll be like.
Yeah, realistically speaking, this is what I am afraid of.
Though I was rather surprised by the amont of articulation on their Matrix APU that I got recently.
But I do wish they would stop making 1/12 scale fabric costume pilots. Those are always garbage tier.
Price will really depends on where you're buying from, but I guessing it'd be closer to 300USD for regular retail, and maybe 350 USD for a threezero store direct exclusive red shoulder variant
-
Pretty sure it's a new mould. It looks more articulated and has articulated fingers it seems.
Threezero stuff usually have rather disappointing articulation, but i hope they get this right. Also turbo custom pack hopefully.

Amazon thankfully has free shipping to Singapore now (though there are certain conditions and criteria, such as min. $125 spending, no bulky items and Amazon direct sales only etc.), so that's where I get most of my US imports.
For other stuff (namely toys), I have to go through a forwarder. They charge a pretty steep fee as it is calculated by every 500grams or so, on top of whatever insurance, fuel surcharge and their own fees, but is always cheaper than directly shipping from the US to Singapore.
The downside to that though, is that there is pretty much nothing you can do if the items or packaging gets damaged.
Also our country imposes tax for shipments totaling over about $284 USD including shipping. -

28,080 yen for damaged box version again. Not the best, but not too shabby I guess? -
I thought it was worth mentioning that NY typically lists the last day of the month the item is expected to ship, before updating it when they have a firmer date (usually when they ask for payment as well).
Off course, it could very well still be the 29th. -
would not mind if they made one, for the right price that is

Wonder if Mr. K mentioned anything about fixing the loose ankle issue for the YF-19 reissue.
-
been excited for this since i saw the trailer last year. haven't heard much about its release since.
-
10/10 would buy if it's a figure and not a kit.
-
Really loved the Dark Knight they made, and have Dredd waiting to be shipped.
Not too fond for most of these, but might consider getting Armored Batfleck and Punisher, as there aren't many good representations of these 2 (though I might lean towards the Mafex for the Armored Batfleck).

for those on the fence, I just wanna point out that this is actually a further discount on the VF-0A.
I actually got it when they slashed it to ¥24,360. Now it's even lower. Go figure. -
Thanks to saitousad for the first alert on it! .
I didnt think that the damage would be that extensive on the box, and i was quite relieved to find it was only confined on a small corner crease.
Yea the discount made buying the $ 0s a lil better
ikr? totally worth it. The box isn't even that great anyway. I wish I could toss it, but I need to keep it for future storage purposes.

They're offering Registered SAL as a shipping option (1310 Yen); even with PayPal conversion fee, CDJ's price can't be beat. I put an order in for one, with a 100 Yen discount I had, my total came to 6990 Yen = 59.18 USD.
I meant that it wouldn't make sense for me to ship just one, when I can combine the 3rd I have on HLH with other stuff to spread out the shipping cost.

mega bummed, because I already got 2, and would not mind springing for a 3rd, but it will not be worth it after factoring shipping.
Pity too, because CD Japan has like the lowest price for the Regults, when you compare it against Amiami and HLJ's prices -
Just a heads up that Amiami put up more of the discounted "damaged" box VF-0S if anyone is still keen

Amiami apparently has a few pieces with slightly damaged boxes for just 28,080yen! Grab'em if you're not too concerned with the box.

Really wish i could afford a 2nd one just to display it in the reactive armor

the Luca ghost set was reissued
When did they reissue the Luca ghost set? I must have just not noticed.
I think perhaps David was referring to the original single Ghost pack, and then the 3-in-1 that was packed with the Renewal Super parts.

I'm still contemplating picking this guy up or the VF-0S

Just gonna throw in this in to stir up even more confusion
Hikaru piloting a VF-1J with GBP in the DYRL game. -
Looks like the S.H.Figuarts X Chogokin HULKBUSTER will be released on May 2016 instead of Jan 2016 as earlier reported.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the May release date is for the 2nd batch of orders. Bandai did a 2nd round of orders because apparently too many people were placing orders for this at the very last minute, so they had to close the preorder early and create a 2nd one.

Somewhat tempted to get a 3rd, just to have 1 naked, 1 in fighter, and 1 in Reactive armor.
