  1. There's (unsubstantiated) rumors that Angelina Jolie has expressed interest in playing Catwoman. Even if it's true, there's no script yet, much less any guarantee that Nolan wants to do a third film at this point. Complicating matters, Bale will likely have a deal in place to do the three Terminator sequels, so there's his schedule to work around too.
  2. Yeah, that would go over well with the fans. Besides, didn't they recently invalidate 40 years worth of Spider Man in his latest mega-arc?
  3. Didn't they already try to re-launch He-Man just a few years ago?
  4. You're obviously far easier to impress than I am. Friendly tip: You should really stay out of a car dealership showroom, for your own sake.
  5. I don't care that they invented head sculpts for unseen mecha, especially since I won't be getting these either way. I just can't stomach somebody overselling his own product like that. You'd think we'd get the point that he's pleased with the results the first three times he says it, but he just keeps plowing on obliviously about how great he thinks they are. But then again that's always been the Toynami way of doing things. Incidentally, did anyone else notice how coy Sohn was in the video about the Beta connection? From the sounds of it, it'll look good on display, but will NOT be play-worthy.
  6. I think at that point they will have come all the way 'round the other side and become death metal.
  7. Uhh...isn't that how about 75% of Robotech "canon" came to be in the first place?
  8. Man, if I had no idea what he was talking about, I'd say that George is the best salesman ever based on that video. "Look at these heads Tommy designed? Aren't they awesome? They're sculpted exclusively out of win! They're so perfect it hurts." Screw this "exclusive" head BS. I want something that looks like the cartoon I watched, not this "updated" Yune-ified garbage. Can't HG and all ancillary licencees learn to just leave well enough alone? And somebody get Sohn a freaking dictionary, so he can learn the difference between "exoskeleton" and "endoskeleton." Or, just watch Terminator. It's on DVD, ya know? Finally, I'm not sure what the point is of bringing in these re-re-reissued 1/55's? Sure they'll move a few units based on the improved design, but by this point I'd think that anybody who wants a vintage-styled Valk (sorry George, not gonna call 'em Very-teks) would have their fill of them.
  9. Wow. It makes me long for the "simpler" times when all there was only the Weapon X serial in Marvel Comics Presents.
  10. It could be worse. Howlett could be his middle name. Last name; Themoon.
  11. Watch the trailer and get back to me.
  12. I watched the trailer this afternoon, while it was still online. It looked pretty good, IMO, but I could have done without Gambit. Since when is he part of Weapon X lore? Or has there been substantial retconning in the 15-odd years since I quit reading? Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth looks to be an excellent bit of casting.
  13. Given the reception the promo reel seems to be getting, I have a hard time imagining them not moving forward at this point. But then again it's Disney, so who knows? Either way, this one is a long way off so don't expect any 3 3/4" lightcycles under the tree this Christmas.
  14. I've been reading that this was little more than a demo reel, a proof of concept if you will, and that the actual film has yet to even be green lit. Given the lack of information on IMDB for it, you may want to hold off clearing space on your toy shelves for this one.
  15. Steering things away from the rather circular discussion on a hypothetical AI's penchant for genocide, there's some news from SDCC, and apparently it's all good. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/080727f.php The biggest news is that Dark Knight co-scribe Jonah Nolan has done substantial rewrites, so much so that he may get sole credit. Take that, Brancato and Ferris! From what I've read on another site, the crowd was pretty positive about the featured footage. I'm still extremely skeptical about this whole endeavor, but the increasingly positive word of mouth is tough to deny.
  16. Anybody have enough cash put aside can OWN A PIECE OF BSG. Kudos to whomever is able to assemble the entire Galactica bridge.
  17. *crosses fingers for typical MPC pricing* C'mon Toynami....don't let me down. Again.
  18. Interesting article, but the paragraph where the "Cylon Collective" is revealed was groan-inducing. Considering how good the current BSG is, I'd say Singer made the right choice when he left to make X2 (a great movie in its own right).
  19. Stories about guys who get zapped into computers usually are.
  20. I saw the new Falcon in Wal Mart just the other day too. Huge is an understatement. I was mildly tempted, but common sense and an awareness of my lack of space in the house won out.
  21. You can have my copy of Maze-A-Tron when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. So if this film has actually been made (and right under our collective noses, apparently) can we also expect some more of the lesser 80's genre movies to get sequeled/remade/rebooted? Return to the Black Hole? Never Say Never Say Never Again? Ultra Mega Force? Metalstorm: The Further Destruction of Jered Syn?
  22. Would you sign my copy of Intellivision's Tron Deadly Discs?
  23. Maybe if Tron was a property that I cared about in the first place I could help you out. But Tron bored me even back in 1982, and hasn't exactly improved in my eyes since then. But hey....I'm sure this dude is even more pumped then the rest of you are.
  24. Meh....I'll worry about this one when it actually has a script, a director and a cast. Right now it's talk, like so many other anime adaptations. Remember when the live-action GITS movie was announced? Yeah, nobody else either, does because there's been no mention of it since.
  25. You guys are misquoting Skynet's motives. In Terminator 2, the T-800 tells Sarah (and the audience) that once Skynet became self-aware, the researchers panicked and tried to pull the plug. Skynet launched the missiles out of self-defense.
