  1. Yes lovely use of the background and clear (yamato?) display stand! :)

If it could get any more perfect you need to lower the 1S lasers in fighter mode a bit. ;)

Sigh, Hikaru 1S where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Probably will grab the 1S Roy 2nd re-issue with fixed/ironed out shoulders for sure.

whoops didnt see that. haha yeah you get too focused on lighting and composition that you forget other details.

  2. Uh, No. I don't think that was implied by my post. It is identical to the WF version.

So steve, you have two now? Your first one, is the WF I assume? so the blue cummerbund is matte. while the Mass Produced is glossy? wel you know what to do now? Matte clear coat haha.

  3. Whoa there big guy,,, nice and easy...

First of all I am kinda glad I didnt get the first run , I would 've ended up with 4-5 defective shirts..

that woulda prob made me  ..so maybe my tardiness was a + to me in that case..

Not tryin ta dis or anything...not asking you to pander to our wants either.. .just this is not what EXo's thread was selling...not because WE dont like it..because it's differant than the sample posted, with no mention of moving the graphic...understand OUR frustration, WE cannot have a "good" con shirt??.

believe me i hate whining and complaining...but I just want to show off that sick little SD Rohby drew up..sucha good design it deserves to be centered.....

I believe in one PM I did offer to front the production of a second run-T, if you are willing to send me some contact info, I will front the third run..(providing enough people still want to see this centered on T).

First of all, I spoke with your personally at MWcon and we discussed a possible 2nd run. You were eager to have one made. I did not feel so inclined. HOWEVER I did explain to all those who were there, you included, that if and when i do a 2nd run. that the shirt will be printed to MY original design. I explained thoroughly that it will NOT look like the first run. You told me that you were OK with that. Now you are not. Cant help you there.

  4. That guy.....makes everything cool for himself and sells us s*..,he said the same thing about last years con shirt and long sleeves...

He even managed to get the Th centered for himself but not for us??even after everyone was like wtf????..thanks .....

The reason you were left holding the bag is because that is not what was offered to begin with..

I'll prob end up buying these anyway , cutting them up and frickin sowing onto a jacket....

Look, you take what I make or jsut dont buy them. Or heck make them yourself. I WANTED the off center printing. that was my ORIGINAL design. the shirt printers F#cked it up. They said they couldnt center the humdinger on a hoody because of the huge pocket in the front. they cant silkscreen over layers like that. so they centered it. It was free for me cause of my order.

Im not going to PANDER to people's wants. these are limited runs. this is ALSO why i HATE doing second runs. You people like to whine and complain. You had plenty of time to get the first run, Granted there were issues outside of my control, such as the crap job of silkscreening. You were too late to get the first run too bad. You knew the shirt was gonna be there. Crap silkscreening aside, it is your fault for not getting there on time to get some.

You dont want this run because its not the way YOU like it? THEN DONT BUY IT. Dont sit there and complain. Make your own shirt. That is what I did. And I love it the way I have it.

  5. I am a little confused. I think your translator is not working well. Translating from Japanese to english does not work very well, if you are using an online translator. can you put the parts back together? Take a picture of the parts that will not transform then use photoshop or some other editing program to circle or point at the piece that does not work.

Also you are in Okinawa, right? Then you can call Yamato directly. Do they have a customer service phone number?

  7. It makes sense considering the price of it, that some would buy it simply as an investment to turn around and sell at a profit or as a collector's item to kept in mint condition, out of sunlight, etc. Still, it's a little sad to think after spending that much money on it that one wouldn't at least handle it once or twice to view it's details up close.

have you seen my pics? I opened it and transformed it for the MW Community. go pack a few dozen pages and you will see my pics.

  8. I don't believe Kawamori worked on the 1/55. Noburo Ishiguro was interviewed in an old issue of Animerica where he mentioned the old 1/55 toy. During Macross' production, he and Kawamori were worried that no toy company would be able to build a perfect transformation Valkyrie toy. But when Takatoku demonstrated their 1/55 prototype, he says that both he and Kawamori were shocked "like the apes who saw the Monolith." :p

hmm But given kawamori's pedigree of mech design and specifically transformation. I understand that the original VF-1 transformation was made of legos or paper.

  9. Thanks to kidkorrupt for bringing up an old debate with me. Astromagnum is the mold for G1 Shockwave. Astromagnum was sold by Toyco in japan.

I am curious to know about Toyco. I wonder who they got to do the tooling of Astomagnum? I know that Studio Nue was tapped for some of the diaclone toys and microchange toys like perceptor. I met the toy designer of perceptor at Botcon this year. For those of you who dont know, one of the employees at Studio Nue, was Shoji Kawamori. He designed the original Battle Convoy toy aka Optimus Prime.

Jason Jupiter pointed out uncanny similarities in Astromagnum's tooling to Takatoku's 1/55 Macross valkyries.

Carefully look at Shockwave's leg. The Silver/grey panel and look at the panel lines.

    shockwaveur7.jpg

Then look at this Bandai 1/55 elintseeker, Look at the leg panel

    img0080qt8.jpg

Now look at Shockwave's upper arm/bicep area.

    shockwavearm2cp2.jpg

And look at the elintseeker's arm.

    img3870vk2.jpg

Not only are they similar, the ratcheting design in the arm is similar to the 1/55 toy technology.

I dont think it just a coincidence. unless one company blatantly ripped off designs from the other.

I cant remember who actually designed the 1/55 toy? what is specifically Kawamori? I know he came up with the transformation concept of the toy. but did he do the actual tooling? Was it someone in Studio Nue? was it an employee of takatoku? Did they contract someone else? Could that person have worked on Astromagnum because the evidence seems to support that. Or maybe they were huge macross fans haha.

  10. if you do another order let me know plzzzzzz

    what size do you need?

Ok so the shirts got printed. there was a slight mess up in the number of shirts. I still count 40 shirts but I dont have any XXXL and only 2 XXL which are spoken for. I will see if I can get the XXXL printed up. But no guarantees.
