  1. You guys got to see this. I know this is a Macross forum and this of a Star Wars model but this is a papercraft thread to and I think you all might like to take a gander at it. This is a 2 year scratch build.

Not quite in the same league but fun nonetheless. Google "Paris Metro Ticket Millennium Falcon". I had some online friends in France get me a stack I tickets and I made the millennium falcon and x-wings. No glue required.

  2. I see you're in Pittsburgh, PA so I assume you mean Gouf / Duncan? If so I know him well ;)

Glad you like the papercraft. A lot of work went into the upgrades from the original model. There are more in the future to develop but other projects have taken priority ATM.

Yep. That Duncan. I was at his house as he was wrapping up your "care package". Along with all the crap Jim was giving you haha.

  3. Standalone Super parts have decals for the shoulder parts because each character has a different color, and it was cheaper for Bandai to give you decals than mold 4 different sets of shoulder armor.

Alto and Ozma Super bundles come with proper colors molded. Out of luck with Michael or Luca though.

Thanks. Yeah I understand bandai's reasoning to make one white set of armor. But since I have a vf25f I want the super armor. Cool time to order the sprue then. Can anyone check if the sprue numbers are the same for the alto super parts and the stand alone generic super parts sprue? Thanks.

  4. Can anyone calrify something for me? The VF's that come with super parts, Alto and Ozma, are their armor pieces casted in color respectively? I saw in my Macross F Archive that the stand alone super parts kit has decals for the shoulder armor pieces. I would prefer to not have to use decals nor paint. but rather have casted plastic. if this is the case I will need to request that sprue from HLJ.

  5. It comes up every year or so. Anyway, just like every other year I will state that the Sharon Apple/Ghost X-9 would best any of the listed pilots on a 1 on 1 contest, provided that no ramming or cheap suicide tricks are allowed from the flesh and blood pilots...

I dunno, Luca could unleash his ghosts and he has three, sharon apple only has one.

  6. Well done!

How did you get that weathered look on the feet?

it was rather simple. I used Tamiya gunmetal and tamiya flat black. I first used a trick I learned from Botcon '09, scrub the plastic with a toothbrush and gojo/orange pumice hand cleaner. the tiny pumice beads will scrub the surface of the plastic and make it nice and matte and even. helps to get into crevices and oddly shapped objects.

Then i dry brushed the gunmetal over the brown feet. Next I lightly drybrushed the flat black to look like soot.

  7. Hi, you'll be surprised that i did not do anything else than just panel line and sticker it. ;) Out of the box is what is shown in the photos. Except for one part where I paint it white, which is the wing's missile cover. That part should be white in color so I use tamiya spay paint on it. Other than that, all are out of the box.

I guess this might sound good news for those who don't have the time or equipments to paint it. It's just simply wonderful.

    Cheers,

    ikhii

wow amazing. that just cemented me to get one. Specially since the DX is over $200!!! NICE.
