Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<
wolfx replied to Chief Guld Goa Bowman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think its an old wound from season 1. GN propulsion apparently cancels inertia so if his wounds opened up it was due to clashing with Setsuna, not the TRANS-AM. Or perhaps another oversight by the writers. Wow A-LAWS are being the real bastards of the show aren't they? You'd think nothing could be worse off than TITANs. -
Episode 2....man awesome pirouette!! Apparently the story will become more politically charged later on. Not that i'm complaining.
-
Nope....its pretty hard for the legs to seperate from the torso without force since the pegs are angled upwards.
-
Did you get a bootleg or something because my Unicorn is rock hard solid. It was my latest MG kit and i was so impressed by how "solid" it felt and how all the joints were so tight. My only problems with it was the extremely fragile V-fins which I DO NOT RECOMMEND you to transform it or even touch it much as well as the legs' lack of poseability that doesn't allow a crouch (most Gunpla these days allow the crouch pose). The legs just needed a small tiny mod/redesign to allow the crouch.

Nice. Just curious, but why did you decide to do Sev up with red patches rather than the clean patterns on his other mates? EDIT: Nvm...seems his scheme IS like that. I personally think the "dirty" troopers were abit overdone with the chipping but at least you got the effect right. Nice job overall.

You started a thread like this right after watching Evangelion...why am i not surprised? Incidentally am watching Toru Majutsu No Index, the magicians have pretentious magic names (nicknames). The titular character's full name is Index Librorium Prohibitorum. A walking library literally..... Then there's Fortis931, Salvere000, etc etc -

Wouldn't that by default mean the Flag or at least the OverFlag should have the same system since the Enact was part of some arms pact between the Union and the AEU? Billy mentioned to Graham in the 1s episode that it was just a copycat MS. -

The only way the Masurao can be even more awesome is if it was a valkyrie. -

Well yeah...and my point was GN Taus can't be charged by mere solar energy. They have to be charged by a GN particle charger. As we already know GN particles are not converted from electricity so its not as simple as plugging it into a wall socket or something equivalent. I was just throwing a counter-theory....he could be right though with the accelerated growth of GN tech the federation achieved in 4 years, so who knows? -

Okay thanks. Actually, the old MS-es like the ENACT and the FLAG use power directly beamed from the orbital elevators through microwave. It may be possible for the Masurao to switch power sources from the GN Tau to conventional solar energy (with a huge performance drop) but it would still need to return to base to charge up the GN Particles. I don't see how the elevators can charge up the GN Taus unless they decided to pollute the whole world with red GN particles. -

azrael: Is there a website that gives a summary of what happens in the 00 novels and manga? I'm quite interested to know what happens in the side-stories since they seem to give alot of meat to the history of CB and the development of the GN Drives. Or even better, PM me on where to get scanlations. -

IIRC only the true GN Drives had the potential to TRANS-AM, and this ability was not recorded into VEDA hence Ribbonz surprise when it happened. Ribbonz who had a part in the development of the GN Drive Tau surely would know if there was a limiter installed in the Taus and found a way to release it way before Professor Eifman did. In fact, how Eifman found out about the TRANS-AM is also dubious since he himself did not have any way to study the GN Drives before his death. Also, found out the flashback where Billy, Kujou and Kathy are together in episode 10. Kind of odd billy and kathy didn't recognise each other since Billy was pretty well informed about Kathy's reputation. -

Another thing. GN TAU requires recharging after the GN particles are depleted. Does that mean Graham can only have 2 minutes before he falls like a rock and considered unoperational? -

TRANS-GRAHAM made me I'm curious how Billy figured out TRANS-AM before the Innovators did. I'm abit annoyed that the Gundams are pretty much useless now despite the power ups and only the 00 is changing the tide of battles. Seravee keeps getting its butt kicked literally and Arios is mostly off screen doing nothing. Akimbo Arios reminded me very much of Strike Noir though. I wonder if the animation was recycled. Cherudim's beam rifle's range is amazing because of TRANS-AM? For the 1st generation Dynames to be able to snipe at targets in orbit, i think a few nautical miles should've been nothing. Empress has Val-Walo arms but fires taser cables. Lame. Kathy forgotten who Billy is? Weren't all 3 of them in the same academy , as shown in that flashback scene under the tree? Elevator in Africa got captured.....what will A-LAWS do now? What i want to see by the final episode: A whole Celestial Being army VS the Innovators. -
My 1st post on this thread is the truest definition for moe. Its just that lately some nitwits decided to coincide moe with lolicon because moe characters tend to be little girls and then there's the sexualisation and the rest, as they say is history. Moe in the purest form will contain little to no sexualisation over the character. Its produces a very "paternal/maternal" feeling rather than "I feel so horny/disgusted after watching that" feeling. That was not my originally my intention. Firstly we have to clearly distinguish between people who watch anime, and people who don't. That said, ppl who watch anime in general regardless if they are japanese or not, are not widely accepted in society. Your bolded statement threw mine out of context. And as for hug pillows, they'd be creepy regardless if they had a moe character or Kenshiro on it. Its besides the point. Secondly, ppl who watch anime are by MAJORITY moe-tards, whether you like it or not. The proof of this is the media being churned out panders to this fanbase and is guranteed sales. It might or might not be a cultural thing but in my experience in various messageboards, it is usually the westerners that are vocal and against the moe-movement for whatever reason. Perhaps they are the old fans that never grew up from watching anime. Fans who have children and the moe-ness strikes a protective chord in them as a parent, whereas Japanese adults tend to grow up from anime (if they don't, they tend to be reclusive rejects of society) so perhaps there are little parents in the Japanese anime watching fanbase? This same point can also be expanded that the average unmarried otaku might be compensating for his undirected paternal instincts by directing them towards moe characters. My point is, the Japanese market for otaku panders to moe for a reason. It sells. There is demand thus there is supply. I'm not saying this is right or wrong but it IS fact. And as for if this is socially acceptable or not in Japan, look no further than at junior idols , most below 13 with parents as their managers and also at prime time TV programmes like the Morning Musume girls. Japanese starlets are getting younger and younger. I for one daresay am not a moe-tard and prefer strong to stoic characters ...but I don't mind moe and i don't see where all this RAGE is coming from for moe.
-
To those who hate moe, i'll just say stop watching japanese anime and watch western anime like Avatar or something. Because for the next few decades, moe WILL be invading your anime. Anime isn't made to cater to western tastes so even if you moan and groan about it, its not gonna change much when the target audience wants more moe. Actually its such a staple in anime nowadays that I barely notice it anymore. I just started watching Toaru Majutsu No Index where there's a loli nun and loli teacher in it and I go meh. But i'm sure some people are going to have a problem with this and feel like a dirty pedo while watching it and condemn fans of said show as dirty pedos. As for the blogposts in the 1st post, I regard them as un-researched claims designed to troll on the internet.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
wolfx replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Started watching Maria + Holic. Hilarious. Girl transfers to a Catholic girl's school. Due to some childhood trauma, she has a phobia against guys which leads to her having "lesbian" tendencies. Catholic girl's school filled with pure maidens = Perfect hunting ground. She meets a princessy kind girl, the perfect girl....only to discover, that he's a sadistic crossdressing guy that enjoys seeing girls suffer. Directed by Shinbo and animated by SHAFT of Negima?! and Tsukuyomi Moonphase fame.....couldn't stop laughing. -
Where have u been? Moe has been big since the Card Captor days. Besides i dun regard the examples given (cooking and retard?) in anyway moe even. The blogger is just generalising fan fetishes. To him it would seem anything that caters to fan fetish classifies as moe, which in anime can range from cat ears all the way to mecha parts appended to girls. Moe , shortened from moeru which translates literally to "burning" refers to the burning feeling in your heart when you see a character. A sensation that can only be described as a feeling that "Makes you wanna hug her and go AWWWWWWW!!!" Examples given above do not qualify and thus are not moe. That said a character that isn't normally moe can turn really moe in just one episode, i.e. Klan Klan sitting in Michel's cockpit. MOE~.

Strangely that topic didn't appear in my search 1st time round or i'm just turning crazy. Oh well. Merge em mods.

Hmmm...i'm guessing Eifman found something else with the GN TAU....because i doubt he can immitate the TRANS-AM since the manufacture of the TD blanket itself is impossible over such a short period what more on earth. I guess its one of those human ingenuity things and something just discovered. I can't wait to see what the new MA Empress can do. -
