I'll get a few more Defenders to repaint if they ever go on sale anywhere later on.  Still hoping to someday get a 4th, 5th, and 6th Monster for cheap not in a normal sale but like in a clearance sale or something.

I wouldn't mind a second one for an Urban Camo custom.

  2. Paid for my 2 pack. Been waiting for these since Bandai first announced the normal Regults. Now the Scout is my new Holy Grail of HM-R toys.

  3. The girl that was doing the promotional overview of the Sideshow booth at the SDCC, completely ignored this Deckard figure for some reason. This was the best screenshot I could take, since the camera just blurred over it all the way to Jack Burton. It's not listed in the SS site either (as of now), but it's the most exciting thing from the Con for me so far. After all these years, finally a decent 1/6 licensed Deck figure!

They should have paid Nyankodevice for his SDF-1.....

Yeah, not biting. The guy that did the toynami sculpt lacks aesthetic eye and good taste. The lighting is also tacky. Looks like a chinese KO. This one is gorgeous, I'd give an arm and a leg for a toy that looks like this and close the SDF-1 chapter for good.

  5. That EVO test shot seems to be made from the same cheap plastic they used on their VF-2ss. The 1/60 has me slightly more interested. What's the point in having a High End toy if the landing gear is useless and ugly anyway? This way they'll only have to concentrate in making sure the toy is sturdy and locks together well. Cheaper and fun to fiddle with is also a bonus.

I've heard stories that not paying when the payment request comes up results in an automatic lifetime ban.

I've also heard stories that asking for cancellation of items can get you a lifetime ban.

And I've also heard stories that if you ask nicely and well in advance then you can get a cancellation with just a warning to not get too comfortable cancelling orders.

I have done one cancellation with AmiAmi.  I had pre-ordered Vol 1 of Yamato 2202 thinking it would be like 2199 and have english subtitles.  A month before the release of the BD, it was announced 2202 would not be released with English subs.  So, I sent an email to AmiAmi explaining my reasoning for wanting a cancellation of that item.  They cancelled the order and sent me back an email saying they were cancelling for me as a courtesy and to not do it again.

I wouldn't say I'm a big customer for AmiAmi, but I'm a fairly regular one.  They're currently my first stop for figures and such.

But my recommendation?  Don't order from AmiAmi unless you are absolutely sure you're going to carry through with the order.

Thanks. I knew there was a reason I was hesitant of ordering with them. I guess their price is not the worse out there, so I'll just stick with them this time. Mykombini also has a history of taking a few days to put up their Hi-metal preorders up, BTW.

  7. Still waiting for NY, but preordered at Amiami last night just in case. Can you cancel on them without trouble or will they punish you somehow?

If you really don't want them, I suggest you sell them now and get what you can.

The prices peaked and have nowhere to go but down.  There are not enough collectors interested in these to drive up prices anymore.  Even the rare and exclusives no longer sell.  For example, the Macross Chronicle 1/48 Weathered Strike VF-1S Hikaru is by most definitions a holy grail....yet the collector interest is just not there for the 1/48 Yamato VF's...it is an example of rarity not equating to desireability....thus the declining market prices for it and all other 1/48's.

To make matters worse for you and others on the fence with these specific collectibled......what do you think you could sell your 1/48th's for when the 1/35th DYRL Anniversary Ultra DX comes out next year?  ;)

In short.....keep them if you like them....dump them if you really don't...

So is the 1/35 confirmed for next year?

  9. Thanks for all the replies. I assumed that much. Too much new Macross stuff out there already, so this may not the best moment to sell these out. Ebay sellers are asking quite a lot, but I guess I'll have to lurk around to see if they're actually selling.

  10. Hi, everyone.

I have a modest 1/48 collection that I'm thinking to part with, but I'd like to gauge the current interest on those first, since I don't want to list everything only to sell a FAST Pack set in the course of two years. I'm willing to take the risk of course, but it doesn't hurt to gather some information first.

So. Are 1/48's selling these days? Or is everybody focused on DX's and HM-R's? Thoughts?

I'm surprised by how many don't like this scheme. To me it's the best one right after fokker's 1S. It feels like the spiritual successor to fokker's IS. I always felt that every vf-1 (except maybe CFs) should have squadron markings on their heat shields.

Nobody hates it either, I think it's a thing of affinity really. Me, I would've pick at least two Cavaliers, or an Enigma (talking about non cannon). But I feel no love for this one.

  12. I'll take the wallet break, Bandai. Thanks.

Weird. I can think on so many obscure variants of the VF-1 that are actually cannon and would love to see made (This guy for instance). I guess anniversary releases are for shoving in whatever new stuff toy companies can come up with.

Man, still waiting for HLJ to locate an Armored Factory...

Bandai should make a new one in the HMR line.

  14. Bike mode is clearly a solid prototype. Are these photos new? I believe they were posted before. Anyway I'm sure the actual toy will look great, being die cast and all, and I even like the redesign, but after the inicial hype, I had to cancel my preorder. That Shogo figure and the long torso were the real deal breakers for me.

  15. Armo Soldier is growing on me, but yeah, reviews first. Judging by the size, I'm guessing ET is going the High End route with this one (like when Yamato released the big a$$ Ingram and Scope Dog toys), but to pull that off, you really need to be willing to swim the extra mile. Engineering wise, I'm still waiting to see something different than what Toynami and CM's did. For example, there's no indication that the tail fins wont be swinging freely in and out the moment you pick up the toy.

I'm getting one of each destroid, except for the Spartan, since it seems to be the only one that has two combat modes: hand to hand and artillery.

Edit: And because I always loved the design and never had one.
