Price wise, it would be aroung 80,00 USD from WSF plastic from Shapeways. I will try to reduce that but not sure the work required worths shaving a few dollars. A bit more expensive that what I expected though

Decided that it would be 9.7m long, 162mm at 1:60 scale. Due to the complexity of the figure, I could not use the "Full color Sandstone" material as planned, so it would be available only in WSF plastic. Also I couldn't figure out how to make the head to fully open. I use the WSF flexibility so it can open a few degrees, I will test how much we can open the figure once I got the printed parts. Here what I got so far:

As mentioned earlier, here comes my new smaller project for Macross Zero. It would be a perfect addon to any VF-0D or SV-51 CF version! This is the head of the Bird-Human that appears in Macross Zero in various episodes. It appears at different times in the OVAs with different level of details (and scales...) I am still hesitating for the scale and have to decide if it will be 9m or 10m long, the pictures below shows the 10m version. Because of the "limestone rock" aspect of the head, I am planning to make this design available on Shapeways in "Full color sandstone" material, because this material is fragile and cannot be to much manipulated, the sandstone parts would be used over a articulated skeleton in WSF plastic so that it can be transformed! So this thing is gonna hopefully transform like a blossoming flower as seen in the underwater scene and would display the head with a moving eye. The model is well advanced right now, but still processing.

Not this, but I have always wondered why Yamato haven't made this one, it is the destroid screened in the most aggressive scene against the bad hero guy and it did pretty well.

I got an idea for the wings, but because I want it to be as simple as possible, I will try to figure out a rotation mechanism that would work in only one plastic part, without metal rods or with sliding plastic parts such as Arcadia's canopy/gears' bays. It also should "click" when the wings are in deployed position. Schedule: it is too soon to have an idea. It could be on pre-order before Christmas but not sure because I have in parallel an another smaller Macross Zero project right now. Price should be lower than $200 with all options. I am thinking of making landing gears as an accessory that could be printed in steel from shapeways. So for those who doesnt want them, they can just keep the traps in closed position. The missile bay and boosters cannot be made separated from the main body, they need to be of the same finish and quality of the rest of the ghost. As an engineer, what I really like when designing are the moving parts and inter-connections between things. I would also love to make transforming toys, my Macross Zero project can be transforming though, I am still trying to figure how to do it! I would leave to others the designs that are just an external shape.

A few great ideas there, thank you. The problem with all these mechanisms is: are they largely available, as well as in Europe or in the USA? Like I have always avoided using screws because you can't find easily the same size on the two sides of the Atlantic.

Hi guys, The masters are FINISHED! They are gorgeous as expected. I am sorry the picture below doesn't do justice to the work that was made to the parts but you can see that they are far cleaner than the prototype. I have asked to all the pre-orders to proceed to the second half payments so that the kits can be shipped as soon as they are ready. Keep in mind that the painted version will take a little longer to be shipped because they need more work and more time to dry between putty/paint layers. Anyway, I am sure Jasonc will update us.

We got oyster ice cream available on the Ré island. I really like it, but this is not a large production and I could not find it anywhere else than there.

The boosters are planned to be included, but they are even a greater challenge with the folding-up wings. A little too soon to confirm how everything will be implemented yet.

There is one 1:60 scale drone unpainted available for anyone wanting or waiting. That means that you can PM me to secure it.

I made the stand adapter already. They fit a Yamato stand. I can make a different attachment end if needed, but trust me the drone won't hold on these little arms such as the stand from the VF-19 advanced (if they are the same as the RVF-25 ones). I got these included in the RVF super parts. The X-9 will be more organic with more curved lines, that's at least what I think.

A few parts have been completed yesterday, more are in the final stage today. The rest of the parts should be finished soon. I can't confirm the date, but as you can see it won't took long now.

Hi everyone, I haven't asked for final payment yet, I want to ask for it as late as possible, that means when Jasonc begins the molds. At this moment, we will need the payments to cover the resin costs/painting/shipping costs so it should be soon, like next week. I will try to get a final date, but this is very difficult to determine because it is made by people who make that as an hobby and not on a scheduled time job. Sorry for the delays again.
