  1. I can't see how you can make smaller 1/48 boxes they use up all the space possible. And I'm all for stronger boxes, but not if it costs more (which it probably would.) Now the Elint and the Ostrich boxes... that's just ridiculously big. plenty of unused space. They don't even have missles, do they? The Elint has that big radar, but it's so thin they could have put it somewhere else in the box.

Oh well, I guess I'll take more clothes out of the closet, I couldn't fit into them anymore anyway...

    :(

  2. girls in office attire can sometimes be sexier than nurses... even though they belong in the same category. Just look at the amount of Bridge bunnies' fans! And then there's the biker and fightsuit gals... swimsuits... lingeries...

    uh huh... keep going...

  3. Bale's good enough. Better than the last 3. I like Michael Keaton, but not as Bruce Wayne. And I'm not a big fan of Tim Burton.

Chris Nolan had a forum not too long ago in UCLA where he screened the original theatrical release of BladeRunner. He said he was going to use that film as a guideline for how his Batman interpretation should be. I always thought Ridley Scott would have been the perfect Bat-director, now let's see it from someone who claims to emulate him.

  4. The most important thing to start with on a project like this is a good photograph. Try taking a sharper pic with more resolution. The second thing is to get the right background. If you can find the background first before you take the pic then you can get the lighting right. Otherwise your depending on a little luck on having two seperate materials come together.

    Good luck...

Add: If you look at the reissue boxes you'd see that those actually the toys with custom background.

  5. Can you guys possibly invision a live action movie featuring these characters:

Honestly it will look like such crap I can't even believe it... The only thought I have for them is to one down the character looks to the point where they are believable, however that wouldn't really be GI JOE would it?

Just remember, they did it with these characters:

I'm not offering hope... just suggesting a small amount of possibilities. :(

  6. There were no paper Monsters when I built him. He's my own design. Interesting idea though. But I think they'd be blocky and not sit right.

I used the line art from Perfect Memory and made up some rough plans and sketches. I think he's more acurate than either of the old 1/160 or 1/200 kits. Yellow subs is too 'customized' for my taste. He's solid resin and weighs a bit over 5 lbs and balances nicely. Nice testimony to the artists design in my opinion.

The prototype was made from various bits and ingredients. Styrene, resin, brass, epoxy putties, and a ton of crazy glue. Then I molded him and cast him. The one in the picture was the first all resin 1/100 Monster I made. I don't know if I want to make the next one crouching ready to fire, or taking a step forward. I still have the Defender on my brain.

    :o:o:o

    That's nuts!!!

    Great Job...

I like the way sneaked that monster into a Spartan thread and we're all like "WTF???"

    :lol::lol::lol:

  7. bobe-pat, did you mean no bootlegs of the 1/100s? I used to have a bunch of those. $5 at the swap meet. Good quality too, but had those goofy guns. Before I ever heard of Macross or RT, so I didnt care about the guns.

  8. Anyone know where I can get a replacement part for the piece that is used to connect the fastpacks? It fell from my hand and shattered... :( The fastpacks are fine its just the other piece is wrecked.

Did you try Monkey Nuggets pinned thread.

  9. thanks...i think i rushed it too much, but i kinda like the rough flowy look too...about hik's helmet, ill keep that in mind...you know for some reason, i really dont like the dyrl spacesuits, for some reason, they just look too uniform and not enough color variety....thats why i like tv suits....but mac zero has changed that...i love the zero uniforms and all that best..i have never waited so anxiously for an anime episode to come out, especially one with such a long time between eps...damn:)

You can't help but be anxious when they make you wait half a year for one measly episode.

    BoB, you crack me up!

    Nice work Milt.

  10. the 1/60 has quite a bit of die cast on it, while the 1/48 has very little, but the 1/48 is more stable by far, and handles quite well. realize, of course, that this isn't a kids toy, and if you mistreat it, it will break, where the bandais can take all kinds of abuse.

can you imagine how much the 1/48s would weigh with the FastPacks if they had more diecast... :o
