  1. You can find better pricing but don't wait too long or you'll end up like this....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-Tamashii-Chogokin-SOC-GX-48-Big-O-Arms-Limited-MISB-/251193488620?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7c4c74ec

$329 for Tamashii Parts for the Big-O....Damn it that crap pisses me off! I didn't even know about the SOC Big O until I bought mine last year. Yes it's completely my fault for being out of collecting from the end of 2008 until end of 2011 but that price is ridiculous; especially for what was originally 6300¥ worth of parts that should have been packed in with the figure to start with. Especially since Bandai could reissue it tomorrow if they wanted to. At least the Super Parts and Armored Sets for the Valks are legitimately add-ons! Anyways, off on a rant, sorry; buy now or be really pissed later.

I just bought those parts about two weeks ago on Ekizo Mandarake for $156 plus shipping. Slightly used though.

  2. well, I finally placed an order for the toy yesterday, can't wait any longer as the price seem to be going up on every one sold at NY. But at least they shipped it fast, it's already shown shipped.

But with all these stories of it breaking apart while you are transforming, I'll probably just leave it in fighter mode for a couple of days before even trying the transformation. Also for the people that ordered from NY, did you use Fedex or USPS EMS?

EMS. I usually have no problems with EMS' speedy delivery except this once wherein it was held in customs for 9 days. This was LA. Most members here whose packages didn't go through LA got theirs within 5 days I think.

  3. Whoopee!! Got my armored parts today. N-Y continues their unbroken record of delivering the goods, and lousy packaging: one layer of bubble wrap, tossed into a too-small FedEx Express medium box (for SAL shipping, go figure...) with no further cushioning other than some crumpled newsprint to protect the contents from the straining folded over flaps held together with lots of tape; good thing those FedEx boxes are sturdy stuff, and the USPS gorillas took pity on my package, and it arrived in perfect shape with not a mark on the toy's plain brown box.

Now to open this bad boy and see what all the fuss, adoration, and frustration is all about. ^_^/>

That's exactly the same packaging mine came in. I also used SAL since I wasn't in a hurry to get these. I've noticed that NY has been reusing a lot of old boxes and have been stingy on the cushioning. My first ever purchase from them were both Super Packs for the renewal 25's but those came in a new box double their size, styrofoam peanuts and bubble wrap. Cost cutting for sure. Hey, at least we still have the little note thanking us for our purchase. =)

  4. finally an update from tracking stating that my VF-4 cleared customs today in LA!!

    Dec 31

17:08 In Customs AMC LOS ANGELES UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

    Jan 14

03:29 Departure from inward office of exchange AMC LOS ANGELES UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Man, can't WAIT to get this!!! only trouble i have now is figuring out where to display this as it doesn't really go with any of my other macross shelves.

Congrats! You should get it by tomorrow since it is "technically" Express Mail now that its out of customs.

  5. Wow! Sorry to hear that some of my fellow collectors still haven't received their VF 4's from LA customs. I assumed that all the ones from the 31st have been delivered. BTW, when mine came, my heart sank since the shipping box was crushed on one side. Good thing that the contents were undamaged. Hopefully you all get yours before the end of the week! Once it clears customs, you should have it the next day.

  6. Los Angeles, the San Porn-nando Valley.

Haha! I thought the location under your avatar was just a joke of some sort. Turns out to be true! My wife always wonders why I have a smile on my face whenever we pass through the San Fernando valley coming from Loma Linda after visitiing some relatives. =)

Anyhoo, I'm assuming that the local packages for that particular shipment went out first then the others are to follow. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: Mine just came out of customs about a second a go! Woohoo!

  7. It's good that you'll be getting your VF-4 soon but that means there's no way to tell if they'll let some of our orders languish in the back of a warehouse for a month or two because they're not even consistent with inspecting each item in order. It's complete dumb(emphasis)-luck.

I'm assuming NY shipped ours at the same time since all of ours arrived in LA customs on the same date. Although, my tracking still shows no update, I'm hopeful that ours will be out of customs soon. If you don't mind me asking, where are you located Murphy?

  8. Really??? This makes no sense at all, I would be super pissed by now..... Hopefully you guys will get your valks soon. Where did you order from and what day did it ship OzmaLee?

Ordered from NY and it shipped on 12/28 via EMS. Arrived at LA customs on 12/31. Like I mentioned before it usually just took 4 days to get to me. Customs must really be backed up. Still no word on my VF-171EX armor parts either except that it left Japan on 12/29 although I only opted for SAL ECO with that one.

  9. Mine shipped on 28 from HLJ and learned that by the end of the year EMS takes tooooo long to arrive. Probably I'll see it in January second week if I'm lucky.

Have a 19S on the mail since the 22 and it is still have not touched Mexico yet.

I guess I should go FedEx next time I order something that gets released late December. Oh well, it will get here eventually. Enjoy your VF-4's guys!
