Power requirements could factored in. It's been mentioned in the Chronicle that energy converting armor is not active in fighter mode, normally. In GERWALK, it's running in a reduced output mode and finally runs at full output in Battroid. The YF-19's pin-point barrier system only works in Battroid mode due to its power requirements and only the VF-27 can use pin-point barrier and energy converting armor in fighter mode due to its engine output while the VF-25 needs the Armor packs' power capacitor to run energy converting armor in fighter mode. Which reminds me, I should read the section on beam weapons.... Well, if it was an experiment, it would still have the "X" in the name. I would say it's more like the product that went to market but failed to pick up steam...like Windows Vista.

Can't say we didn't warn you. Oh wait.

So it's a "We told you so"?

Variable Fighter Master File VF-19 Excalibur
azrael replied to nexxstrait's topic in Movies and TV Series
Fixed. Just to be clear, the VF-22's BDI system is only there to help. It's still a conventionally controlled fighter and the BDI is there to simply help the pilot with mundane tasks during periods of intense flying. -
The VF-25 as well. Canon for the VF-11C. There's no mention of them in the VF-11B's pages, at all. Even the D-type doesn't mention anything about internal bays in the legs. Almost every other mention only says "VF-11" with the C-type being used as the reference pic.

Are we so sure that they would see combat in space a majority of the time? What happens when they find suitable planets? The UN wanted flexibility. They were not getting that with the VF-4/VF-5000. I won't discount it either, but considering its usage, I'd say it would probably be <10,000.
-
Well....costs could be seen as a reason. We do know that the VF-4 wasn't quite as good in performance as the VF-1 in atmosphere, hence the VF-5000. So they're double-dipping on fighters by having the VF-5000 and the VF-4, both acting as the main fighter at the same time. By having the VF-11 as the main fighter, they would have eliminate cost of double dipping.

Considering that they're gonna re-re-release some Macross Saga-thingy for Christmas, they're obviously gonna milk it until the bone marrow is dry. Is it so hard to just reboot the franchise instead of waiting for WB to do something? Just come out with a cartoon that starts everything from scratch. That's the trend of the day, rebooting franchises. Redo the entire series from scratch and, putting it in today's lingo, make it something that today's audience can relate to. Or is that too hard? Don't get the Mechwarrior-folks started, 'kay?

It appeared in the VF-14's entry in the Chronicle.

The VF-3000 wasn't a VF-4 replacement, more like a VF-1 extension that didn't pick up steam. The Chronicle notes that the VF-11, was the first true replacement for the VF-1 as an all-environment fighter (jack-of-all-trades, master-to-none-deal), which is why it was loved.

I wonder, the stand-in poles seem a bit short, especially for this Decepticon (and a spoilerish pic with a Baysplosion) (TFW2005.com) -

Trust me, when we actually do get a release date, it will be posted here and in the SCOOPDA thread, and then repeated hourly, daily, and weekly until people realize that it's been posted that many times. Until then, STOP ASKING. -

Actually, those are probably stand-ins. They're visual cues for actors to look at so that they know what to look at, where to look at it, and whom to look at. The guys with the sticks will be edited out in post-production. -

Few questions and things: -Have you installed any software or updated Windows, prior to your re-wiring? -Do you have MagicISO or MagicDisk installed? -Have you checked for viruses? -Try this, boot into safe mode, open a command prompt, type in the following (no quotations): "chkdsk c: /f" . What does it report? -Did you install Vista SP1? -What happens when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistadesktopui/thread/02b7e62c-ac58-479f-b5f8-9ef2b26f5294 Try some of the things above before doing a restore/repair. -

Do you have a regular computer monitor by chance? -
Won't be the first time a comic artist drew an anatomically incorrect body...

Well, the producers said they were going for something more alien in the costume...
