  1. The PS4 so far is a huge disappointment.

    1. Sorry...I don't want to stream games....here let me pay extra and use up my monthly 200gb of bandwidth through my service provider. I'm already using double what I'm supposed to.

    2. Sony doesn't realize that the most boring thing in the world is watching someone else play a game. No I don't want to see your streamed videos of your play. Social aspects be damned.

    3. I don't want a slimmed down counsel prone to overheating. Give me big with extra cooling capacity. Would love it if it were the size of my Denon Receivers.

    4. No imcluded motion controlled gaming....not that I use it much myself but its great for the kiddies.

    grrrrr

I always found it beyond amusing to see what a complete bunch of lying little hypocrites every member of the Japanese media, and Pro-Sony gaming community in Japan, turned out to be after every single one of them claimed that the original Xbox was insulting to Japanese gamers because it didn't respect the small size of their homes and was too big and that's why they hated it. Never mind that LD players were massively larger and that never hindered that format in Japan. Then the PS3 comes out, dwarfing the original Xbox, and all those same voices are totally silent.

I know a lot of us old timers may not think like that (especially from the comments of those who want physical copies of everything). And I've heard all the reasons, from personal risk, lack of redundancy, backup, etc. But what we must understand is that paranoia doesn't exist in the younger generation, for good or ill. And for most of our generation and older who are still purchasing media, digital distribution has simply become a matter of convenience and a reality of modern distribution. Digital distribution isn't going away, it's physical media that is going away. If Sony wants to plan for the future, they have to face that reality and they are doing so with the Playstation 4 (at least partially).

This is why Sony with their the Playstation 4 has to cater to connectivity, digital media and other current market forces. However, there are other considerations as well that may cause problems for both Sony and Microsoft. Because consolidation is such a big deal, opportunities for a video game console have never been worse. In fact, all the major taditional game platforms (PC, console, portable) have a big challenge ahead competing with mobile gaming. Most simply game on their mobile phones or tablets. Also, most are no longer willing to buy more than one console, if they want to buy one at all. Consoles are too expensive to purchase more than one and a not insignificant portion of consumers won't purchase a console at all.

As it happens, this is why "Big Picture" from "Valve" might actually have a shot at dominating the home media center. To so many computer users, Steam already represents the pinnacle of digital distribution and consolidating your PC video games with your movies and music AND a video game console (via the Steambox), it's like a dream come true for the modern digital consumer. Everything consolidated, everything digital, everything accessible and all of it running on one box.

I don't disagree that Digital will be the way of the future for most users. Doesn't mean that we can't still want to actually own what we pay for, even if in a archive-able digital version like Gog titles. I don't agree however that consoles are too expensive for people to buy more than one and the growth of the industry does contradict that claim. Especially when you look at the fact that these same pro-digital consumers will pay $400-600 every 12 months to buy a new iphone, for no reason whatsoever other than to have the new model. It's hard to believe that people can't/won't afford the cost of more than one game console that they will use for years to come and, presumably, not drop in the toilet and have to replace 3 months after they bought it.

here's a novel concept; buy and use original PS1, PS2 and PS3 consoles and their related softs of your choice!!

a PS4 hitting market hardly means that the many examples of it's predecessor consoles available out there instantly stop working or anything.

myself, for instance, i'm one of those lucky/wise few that have been able retain every VG console i've ever owned, all the way back to the NINTENDO NES,

as well as favorite choice softs for all of them.

sure, it consumes shelf space, and is a minor bother to cycle in and out of my A/V system in comparison to Emulation for older consoles,

and backwards compatibility for PS editions, but the flexibility is unparalleled, and preventative maintenance

on optical disk-based VGCs goes a long way towards greatly extending their service life.

i'll likely be getting an Almighty PS4 like all the rest of you, but i'll be proud and comfortable in the assurance

that i wont ever be shooting myself in the foot by disposing of all my classic favorite consoles and related softs just to keep up with the technological joneses...

Agreed. I do think the "OMG the PS4 iZ almost out. All you Old ConsoleZ are in the DumpsTErZ!" nonsense is a bunch of crap. I have retained every console I have owned since the PSX/Saturn and all of them still work; and I even went back and reacquired a couple of older platforms as well. In fact the only one I've had real problems with is the 360. I avoided all the disc read error days of the PS2 by buying the games I wanted and sitting on them until I picked up a couple units last year. Notice too that the NEWER machines are shittier made than the older consoles we are supposed to throw in the dumpster. But the new ones can stream your replays! OMG the FeatUREZ!!! Sadly this is the result of the "me" generation; all the braindead, nothingness-filled little drones who think that everyone and their grandmother wants to read every tweet, watch their webvids, and read their blog about how they had a huge turd today. I don't dispute that there is a market for catering to these folks; I'm just not a part of their crowd and never will be.

You are, of course, posting all of this from a computer running Mint Linux

(or perhaps even Windows 98). You'd never post from a machine running a

copy of Windows you couldn't install on another PC. And certainly you

are not posting from a Mac. You also have never purchased a movie on

Blu-ray that you own on DVD. And, of course, you have never purchased a

Blu or DVD that you already own on VHS. You also don't have cable or

satellite, since you don't own any of that content, and can't watch it

    any time you want.

I can keep going if you like. "Sheeple," LOL. Nice, dude.

If you want to keep going we can, but why you chose to PM me this I'm not sure. I'd rather debate this in the forum or not at all.

I actually don't have cable or satellite; years back I lived in an area without cable and after doing so will never go back to having "boob-tube" content at the ready to waste my time and interests on.

I have plenty of films that I own on multiple formats, you realize that actually supports my points and not yours, right? I still have a ton of my old VHS collection, I find them fun to have displayed in my collection and there are some titles like some of the Streamline Pictures anime releases that were never available on LD/DVD and their dubs were FAR superior to the current crop of anime dubs (which is why a lot of studios have picked up the Streamline dubs to include on their own version of a title they later licensed). I still have my entire LD collection. I still have every DVD I have ever purchased. Notice that unlike paying to stream a movie on Xbox or PS I PERMANENTLY OWN all of these. Aside from damage or me not properly preserving them they are mine; they can never be removed from my possession via revocation of use rights by a digital content provider. Digital is nice, it's cool that you can watch stuff online. But that's apples to oranges when you try to compare digital to permanently archive-able, physical content. So again your point actually aids my arguments.

As to the OSes; l actually almost exclusively use Win XP still and the last couple laptops I bought I wiped the drives to remove Vista and installed XP. I have lost a lot of respect for MS in the last few years with what they are doing with their OSes and the sole laptop I have that is running Win 7 will be replaced with Linux when I have the chance (I am just now beginning to look into Linux based on a recommendation from a friend.) I see what you are getting at, OSes are "use rights", or at least they are in the last few years. This is kind of a disingenuous argument on your part as most people only need to install an OS once, or it comes preloaded. Really not the same as a game that you SHOULD be able to own forever if you so wish. And you can simply not play ball with M$'s new totalitarian licensing structure with things like Linux. As to your Mac comments I owned a G3 and will never touch a Mac again. They really are machines made for idiots who need big pretty buttons on their screen, and like to pay $100 a year for a new OS which is actually all the updates that they should have been receiving for free all year long. Also I only used iTunes once, downloaded a single Album (ES Posthumous' first album) discovered that, at that time, you couldn't do anything with it aside from use the iTunes player and furiously uninstalled that piece of crap and will never buy anything that Apple makes ever again.

So yes, in response to your implications, some of us actually do talk the talk and walk the walk. If you love digital so much, as you seem to, why do you care? Go on your way and leave us silly collectors alone. When you look back in 20 years and wonder where the tens of thousands of dollars you spent on games/movies/tv went with nothing to show, while I have a collection that has accrued in value, you can look back on this and remember how right you were at the time about how wonderful use-rights digital content really is.

  2. Except for the glaringly obvious, which is your example of GOG is completely irrelevant in this case. PC hardware != console hardware. PS2 emulation is dodgy at best, even on the top of the line hardware, and PS3 emulation isn't even a reality. So yes, the complaints about not being able to physically own these games--which you wouldn't be able to play on the PS4 otherwise--is rather short-sighted and silly (kinda like your use of sheeple). ^_^

Didn't say that PC hardware was the same as Console hardware. Honestly I'm not even sure why you are arguing with me. So far you haven't contradicted anything I've said, all of which was a response to GU-11's similar sentiments about digital. As to my "sheeple" comments...clearly those have struck a chord with you. People buying games off GOG aren't sheeple as they are actually buying games. People who are buying avatar items, people who buy apps that only work on their current phone (which they will drop and break in 2-3 months), people paying for "use rights", the guy who finally pays $50,000 for peter molyneux's "Curiosity" DLC...all those situations are Sheeple. If you find yourself offended by that, well, honestly...tough. It's really stupid to pay for digital content you can't preserve. But if it makes you happy...well I have some Soma for you to take your mind off such troubling matters as what happens to your real world money when you turn it into digital nothingness.

  3. Picked up the re-release of Momohime from Muramasa before she gets expensive again. Really cute figure. The base is simple but really well done too.

Me too. I missed her the first time around so I was glad to get her at retail price. I'm also really pleased that I finally got Velvet from their previous game Odin Sphere. I've been trying to get Velvet for years, had all my previous preorders cancelled when not enough made it to the US market during the first two releases to meet demand.

  4. No, you're the only one.

Next time I recommend watching or reading a few reviews with size comparisons before buying. As for the price the detail, paint apps and accessories (if its a ms that has extra parts) are what make it so much.

    Wow...way harsh Tai.

Actually I did. In fact the review on CollectionDX....

    http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/oz06ms_leo_and_leo_option_set

...was what convinced me to buy. Silly me for not going all the way back to their first Robot Spirits review from 2009 to see a size comparison against a AA battery. I was just surprised by how miniscule these were, it's not like the publicity shots or even the images on web retailers even give a remote hint as to how small these are. But whatever, I'll just stick them in a box for two years and then sell them off to buy some Valks or something worth while when they're oop.

  5. I posted this in the Robot Damashii thread but that seems to be deader than Bandai's consideration for the consumer so I'll try here. So I just got my first few RS/RD figures...the Leo, Space Leo, and Tallgeese. Are all the RD figures so damned tiny? I certainly wasn't expecting a chogokin or anything but these guys are like blister-pack sized but 4 times the cost. Am I missing something here? I'm a bit confused about how I just spent $60, for example, on this tiny Leo toy and parts. Anyone else feel stiffed by these? I have a few of the early GFF figures and I'm thinking I may just finish Gundam Wing to have a complete set and then go back to GFF or something else. And I can't even imagine how stiffed I'd have felt on the Space Leo if I hadn't been able to order it for only a few dollars over the Tamashii Web price via Amazon Japan...but to pay what people are asking for on Ebay now...I'd blow a gasket to find out I'd bought a miniature gundam figure for almost the retail price of a Chogokin Valk!!!

  6. Free will is an illusion. Every "choice" you make is pre-determined by human instinct/nature and prior experiences, removing any real choice from the equation. Just sayin'.

Sheeple, very cute. During your rant, you completely ignored the fact that these services make available games that you can no longer buy for systems that are no longer made, at prices that are a fraction of what they went for when originally sold at retail--including rare titles that go for silly amounts of money on eBay.

Didn't know that I was "ranting" but I forgot that here on MW anything I say is a "ran" and unprovable prattle about predestination and such is intelligent commentary.

I think you completely missed what I was saying, obviously you did since you ignored the fact that I praised the way GOG.com handles their digital distribution. I think DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION is great, I think USE RIGHTS are a scam.

Personally I am a collector. I highly prize games in my collection like Radiant Silvergun, Metal Slug 3 AES Home Cart, Panzer Dragoon Saga, etc. Do I expect others to go to similar lengths to obtain such a title? Absolutely not, but that's what make me a collector...something I think a MW member would understand. Thus I always want to own my games, rather than rent use rights.

That said I do think it is great the DD allows classic titles to be reissued again and again. I LOVE GOG.com, and the best part about it is that i can play a game like Gabriel Knight that originally ran on DOS 5.0 without all the headaches of trying to force it to run on a newer system. There absolutely is a role for DD and I wasn't saying otherwise. And Sony has done a good job with preserving their software legacy through DD and that looks to continue with the PS4; especially with the promise that every PS game ever can be available again through Gaikai. Funny how a 10 year Xbox fan is being accused of ranting when my post was actually complimentary to Sony...oh this forum....

  7. All this talk of data streaming if depressing me. Call me an old-fashioned geezer if you want, but the day console games become 100% online without an offline campaign mode, I'm retiring from gaming and taking up fly fishing or something. It's not really an option because the broadband here isn't really good enough for that kind of gameplay.

The idea of downloading games, while convenient, presents the problem of having no backup if the console gets damaged or stolen. Sure, they might have an authentication feature where you can type in a password and re-download it for free, but it's a hassle, and an accidental deletion in their servers might mean customers lose hundreds of dollars' worth of games if anything happens.

I know it's quite a bit of negativity from me so early in the announcements, but online console features have just never appealed to me. Damn, I must be getting old.

I agree entirely, in fact a friend and I were discussing this same issue earlier tonight. The digital revolution is fine for Sheeple who like to allow others to control their content but I'm fortunate enough to have this silly little thing called free will and I don't believe others are entitled to control what is mine. If I paid for it, then it's mine. Digital, mostly, strips this from you and replaces it with absurd "use rights". Sorry but I don't pay real world money for digital nothingness that can be revoked whenever MS, Sony, Nintendo, Steam, etc decide to. Just about the only digital content I buy now is through GOG.com since everything is infinitely redownloadable, constantly updated for newer OSes, and I can burn the game installers to a CD/DVD and preserve it forever.

I also find myself playing a ton more on my older consoles recently. Maybe that's because they quite literally don't make games the same anymore. And by "anymore" I mean the way they did all of 5-7 years ago. And games like Symphony of the Night or Panzer Dragoon literally don't have a place anymore because they're crafted with heart, rather than crafted to sell insultingly-priced DLC packs.

As for the new stuff next gen, most of it will get ported. MS has especially shown that they can't hold a single title exclusively and I've tried to warn for years that it's going to backfire on them. My favorite game this gen was Alan Wake...AW2 is headed to Xbox 720/Durango/Nextbox/FUBox or whatever they want to call it....but why bother? Ms will claim it's an exclusive and at most a year later Remedy will self publish it for PC just like the did with AW & AW:AN. I actually do see Sony doing a way better job next gen of having exclusive content given the way they've gradually lured developers back after the disastrous PS3 launch and MS taking the lead. And before anyone claims I'm hating on MS let me clarify that this "hater" currently owns a Halo LE Original Xbox, 2 of the Crystal Limited Xboxes that were released in Canada, the LE Clear Black Japanese Launch Xbox, a White 2nd Anniversary Engraved Xbox, I've been on XBL since the Beta testing, and I would own 5 Xbox 360s were it not for the fact that 4 of them have died and I'm down to the RE5 Edition 360 being the only one that still works.

I really can't see myself supporting MS next gen though I might eventually go for a PS4 if they keep up with the original/exclusive content the way that have the last two years or so. In the meantime I'm planning to buy one of the new White PS3 500GB models for Macross 30, Okami, Ni no Kuni, Ico Trilogy, Beyond, Toki Towa/Time & Eternity, Deadly Premonition DC and some older games like Folklore, Heavy Rain, No More Heroes, Valkyria Chronicles, and a few others that I should have already played.

  8. Anybody know when I can find a reasonably affordable figures of Echidna and Shizuka from Queens Blade? I really don't want to spend more than 60-80 bucks US for them.

No but I just preordered this....

    10216189a.jpg

I don't even follow Queen's Blade but that is a freaking awesome statue and it's in 1/4.5 scale!

  9. Ok I am seriously stunned that not one toy manufacturer nor Sunrise/Bandai/Production IG are doing ANYTHING to commemorate the 25th Anniversary. I really expected to see something at Wonderfest, though there were some very nice looking garage kits that I'll most likely never be able to track down nor have the skill to properly assemble and paint, but otherwise....just nothing. The first OVA series ever to be successful enough to turn into a TV series and no one is even taking note of the anniversary that's all of two months away. I thought maybe Wave, Yamato, or Koto would at least do some reissues with the Anniversary Logo stickered on the box (ala the Macross 30th) or maybe even a new toy (SOC Ingram or more Yamato 1/24s). I know it's not Macross but damn...in fact now that i think about it in many ways it is a much better series than Macross given that the quality of all the shows/movies/ovas were consistently good (except maybe Movie 3 which fell apart a bit at the end). You look at Macross and it's complete hit (SDF/Plus/Frontier) or complete miss (MII/M7)...what a shame that such a great series' only notice is that one of ADV's new companies is reissuing the 1st OVA series in the US though not even playing up the Anniversary aspect of the release. Bummer, guess I'll have to break down and pay those inflated prices for a Helldiver WHAM and Revo since no one gives a damn anymore about this great series...

  10. Sorry to bump such an old thread but since this is the "official" one I thought I'd inquire here. I just purchased my first few figures, the Gundam Wing Leo, Space Leo, and Tallgeese...and I am stunned by how small these figures are given the price. Are they all this tiny? I certainly didn't expect something like a Chogokin or 1/6 scale figure but these are almost like cheap blister pack toys. I am stunned by some of the prices I've seen the OOP ones going for given the pieces I just received. Heck even the prices for the in print ones seem exorbitant given their scale.

  11. Windmill Gundam....Closes all arguments about G-Gundam true awfulness.

    WindmillGundam.jpg

Wow...you are wrong...so wrong. That is like OMG Amazing! If Bandai does not make a 1/6 Scale DX SOC of this then I don't know how I can go on living. :D

I honestly don't get where those kids toys argument comes from.

The latest Macross license that Yamato had (form the tv shows) was Macross 7 which is a show from 1994.

No kid today wants something from that era. In addition these shows are not aimed at kids.

Wait...M7 wasn't a kid's show? Really? People think it was an intelligent, deep show made for adults? With a protagonist who jams on his guitar to defeat the enemy? I watched the first 4 eps of M7 on fan subbed VHS, said to myself "My God they've killed Macross and turned it into kiddie tripe." and never looked back at that awful crap. Hell it almost made Power Rangers look like a show made for adults.

As to the weird direction this thread went....Macross collectors are elitist? Maybe a little bit, and if so who cares? Collecting by nature tends to attract people of moderate, or better, economic means and there is a measure of pride put into one's collecting. And there is nothing wrong with that. And even if people here are elitist it's not even remotely the same as collecting Ferraris, but either way...so what? Instead of decrying Yamato, who have always been a company who focused on the collector's market from day one, maybe people should ask why Bandai has such questionable values, given the absurd Macross savior status they've suddenly been bequeathed in the course of this thread. After all, our new "savior" makes $10-15 toys all the time but doesn't make Macross toys at that price point, makes ~$130 Valks that end up being sold for $300-500 on ebay...see how silly this line of discussion is. Maybe we should back off with all the elitist talk...it's starting to sound a lot like the mental dribble that spills from the mouth of our silver-spoon-fed President and his equally elite cronies.

Nothing about this rebranding says they are done with Macross and the couple of folks "in the know" seem to be saying they have good things planned. So until something new is announced what is there to talk about?

  12. so this morning i got this through Facebook:

    Dear Mr Moore,

sorry that we have to reply to you here, we did reply to your inquiries each time but looks like you are not receiving our e-mails.

Probably they ended up in your spam folder, sorry for this.

We explained in the very first email that there was a problem with the Alto Parts listed on our website, we found out that the last remaining piece was crushed and that we needed a few days to get another one.

Since looks like we have a communication problem and as you say you are VERY impatient we alreay sent you a full refund.

    Again sorry for this problem.

    Erika

So now i dont know. I have check my spam filters: nothing. I even checked through Gmail on a browser instead of through outlook and STILL couldnt see any emails.

So if they were sending em, now i feel like a dick, but since i cant find them... I dunno....

I wouldn't buy it. They gave me conflicting info about my lone purchase I made from them, which I detailed in another post, and I'll never do business those guys again. They run their business like a small time ebay seller and I don't care what they claim to have in stock, I'll never touch their website again and no one else should either.

  13. I'd rather just grumble and moan that there are no decently sized, poseable toys/models of these things ever. something along the line of Kotobukiya's armored core kits would be just great.

Totally agreed. They seem to churn out a new Armored Core model kit every month but figures? There's the recent SRC release, plus the stupidly priced Tamashii Web figure, and then just the models. I seem to recall some figures years back...from Koto? ArtFX? But yeah, a larger sized figure series for AC (or Steel Battalion) would rock. I was totally stunned when I received my SRC AC Figure....I had no idea it was going to be that small (my fault since I didn't understand the difference between Bandai's SOC and SRC lines).

  14. Hey, does anyone remember steel battalion? I never played the game and I never knew anyone who did but I always thought it had cool robots.

    hiResvtScare.jpg

Ok so i officially hate you! Why you ask? Because I am a huge fan of Steel Battalion; in fact i have 3 of the Controller/Game Sets (2 of which are still unopened for posterity). Yamato did actually make a set of their very nice mini-figures of these back around 2004 or so. Somehow or another I missed out on them, I don't think anyone I shopped with carried them at the time and I always planned to track them down but forgot to do so. There is no chance these are ever going to release again (especially since the Kinect games is hot garbage) and the only one of the 5 minifigures I can find is selling on Ebay for $27...these were originally $7 each. So now I have to track down all five of these guys for $30+ a piece. So thanks for reminding me....no you couldn't just leave well enough alone and let me blissfully forget the only piece of toy merchandise for the series could you? Thanks bunches...I hate you. :p

    From Hobby Search's archived listing:

    10036815a.jpg

  15. Has anyone heard anything about new releases for the 25th Anniversary this year? I missed out on the WHAM, Yamato, and Helldiver Revoltechs as I wasn't collecting at the time and really, really, really, really want a reissue of any/all of those.

  16. Those bodies are just the wrong shape for the Lovely Angels.

Yeah those two figures look more like cosplaying the dirty pair than actually being the dirty pair. They look like crap to be honest.

Sadly I do have to yield to these opinions. The figs will be super posable but the DP are the kind of characters with too much exposed skin to look nice as figures with these kind of hinged joints. Plus the Kusunagi figure CM's did supposedly has a lot of problems so these will look weird and explode into small pieces that leave your relatives wondering what kind of pervy thing did to those poor figures!

It would be great if they made revoltechs of the Steel Gunner characters from the old arcade game.

    stgun-1.pngsgunnerj.png

Oh Steel Gunner.....such a great arcade game. For the longest time I thought this was possibly an Appleseed arcade game that had been retitled for the US. The arcade I went to regularly had this and once a month of so they would do a "lock in" at close till ~1am and everything was free play; my brother and I always played through this at least once each time.

I'll second (third, whatever) Dangaio, Escaflowne, Venus Wars, FSS, Sol Bianca, and Appleseed. For Escaflowne, I'd definitely want more than just the titular robot. At the very least Schaherazade and the Alseides would also be musts. For Sol Bianca, I'd insist ont he OVA version.

To contribute an additional title, I'd love to see toys based off the Crusher Joe designs.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the various fighter planes from Wings of Honneamise as toys too.

Crusher Joe is getting a few recent releases courtesy of Wave...

    TOY-RBT-2589.jpgTOY-RBT-2590.jpg

Totally second the Honneamise Fighter want!

  17. Yeah I know, I was just playing along :D

I agree on your point though. I do what I can to score one of these (since I'm so late on the Frontier boat), and hopefully score one, and if that doesn't work out, I just move on to the next choice (the lesser of whichever evil stores jack up their prices.)

Ideally, I'd pay retail price at most. I just can't stomach paying the grossly inflated prices some shops offer (unless I'm really desperate). We'll see how that plays out when the VF-25F/S get reissued (if that ever happens any time soon).

Whatever you just said doesn't matter because your new avatar is so awesome it defies all logic!

  18. Yeah, I've wanted Priss on her Motoslave or the Highway Star for the longest. There was a model of the Highway Star too in one of the B-Club books.

I thought about getting the metallic version. But it's just a more expensive yet metallic paint version of the same toy. It really should be a larger scale model.

Since we're talking BGC I could totally go for the AD Police K-11 & K-12 Power Armors, Leon's Car, Patrol Copters, even the ADP Troop Carrier.

    tek_powersuits_k-11-suit.jpg

    tek_powersuits_k-12s-suit.jpg

    140420542_f841ad429a_z.jpg?zz=1

I could also go for Vision's Spider Mech....

    737187007194_0.jpg

    1. Deunan. We still don't have a good statue version. The Hot Toys version was tempting but I want something similar to the quality of the Vice/Alter Motoko statue.

    2. Rook's Cyclone. We almost got this one but were sadly let down.

    3. Dana's Hovercycle. I found an old kit of it a month or so ago. But I want something large scale and detailed.

    4. Axelay ship from the videogame. Still the best shooter to me.

    7. Original Kei and Yuri Dirty Pair statues.

Pretty much agree with all of these. CM's doing Kei & Yuri for their Gutto-Kuru line later this year. My only concern is there were some QC issues with their recent Motoko figure so hopefully they put more effort into the Lovely Angels.

    Dirtypair-550x.jpg

  19. But it's true! :(/>

Anyway, I'd go to NY more often, but their price mark-ups aren't very encouraging.

I was only joking, I didn't actually think you were lying. I'm not a big NY fan either. I do see the point in paying a little more and not jumping through hoops to get a figure, but outside of the first night preorders go up most of their prices are insulting and no better than an ebay scalper. Plus if you're up late the first night preorders go live you might as well try to get one for retail or less at another retailer who actually has a little bit of scruples and doesn't fleece the customer within the first couple hours.

  20. In all fairness, Renato did warn me that this Valk was a PITA to transform but...damn, this Valk is a PITA to transform!!

I've never had so many pokes, pinches and cuts from a Valk before. It's a beauty on the shelf but i'm almost afraid to go near it.

It's like that one woman you know will hurt you but you can't wait to get yer hands on her.

    Haha...isn't that all Macross Toys?

  21. Happy to have found this guy online for half the retail price but i'm annoyed to find the armor parts going for 13000yen now on the secondary market. That's near full retail for the valk itself.

You can find better pricing but don't wait too long or you'll end up like this....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-Tamashii-Chogokin-SOC-GX-48-Big-O-Arms-Limited-MISB-/251193488620?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7c4c74ec

$329 for Tamashii Parts for the Big-O....Damn it that crap pisses me off! I didn't even know about the SOC Big O until I bought mine last year. Yes it's completely my fault for being out of collecting from the end of 2008 until end of 2011 but that price is ridiculous; especially for what was originally 6300¥ worth of parts that should have been packed in with the figure to start with. Especially since Bandai could reissue it tomorrow if they wanted to. At least the Super Parts and Armored Sets for the Valks are legitimately add-ons! Anyways, off on a rant, sorry; buy now or be really pissed later.
