  1. Yeah, just a few minutes ago it was in my cart but wouldn't let me check out. There's just no way once they run out of their allotment so I had to empty the cart...

I still have mine in my cart and keep clicking to process the order to cause further 503 errors just for fun. :D

  2. Wow this is probably the worst yet. Amiami instant sell out as always, NY lists hours early just to fubar everyone, and no other sites even put it up for sale. Glad I stayed up for this nonsense!

  3. Anybody care to PM the NY secret?

There's no "secret", all everyone is doing is entering 100 in the qty field to see their site correct it to what they are actually selling. Then they refresh again and again and see how long it takes to sell out. Doesn't exactly help you with ordering one since typing 100 might put the remaining 12 in your cart and when you go to check out you'll have to back out to correct the qty and might lose out in that time. A fun trick if you want to "watch" the stock sell out but that's all.

Does amazon Japan have the same timeframe for preorders?

They sometimes do same day/night, the problem is they only get every other Valk or so. For example they didn't have anything prior to the 171 for preorder, they had the 171 Alto, didn't have the YF-29 30th, did have the 171 CF, and so on. I am referring to Amazon Japan themselves here, not third party sellers. So when Bandai does decide Amazon is worthy of stock they do list it around the same time. Yet somehow Bandai can stock local retailer for NY to buy up and scalp the stock from but not the world's largest online retailer consistently.

Is it just me or there is little to no links for the new VF-27 around? Normally I find there are links for a future product days before but this time there isn't any to be found and it's on sale tomorrow.

Golden Week last week meant no one came back to work until today, or later, and sites are just now beginning to put up a couple new items (hobbysearch has some new non-macross stuff today for the first time in almost a week).

    Pay 40 dollars over retail?

Shhh!!! Awww....damn it, now you've ruined it for everyone.

  4. xrenton and loop have 3

    a few others have +3,

    lupin has 6

    duymon has 6

anyone have nine to display 3 in each mode :D

wow, makes me envy all of you.

Actually I have 5. I let one of my CDJapan preorders go as 5 was enough...but since that gives Duymon the crown for largest 171CF Squadron maybe I should grab two more, lol.

  5. Wow! That's insane! If I didn't have preorders for other things I'd at least want three CF's. =)

Yeah, the bandai marketing images did me in....made 3 a necessity, lol. Actually I usually try to get 3-4 of anything I really, really like and want to have extras of/replacement for in the years to come. This is the only Bandai renewal I have three of aside from the Alto 171s, and I only picked up 3 of those since I was able to get them all at retail.

  6. We have no history of Hobby-fan with the V2's because they did not offer V2's until the CF-171 and REissue YF-29, which aren't out yet.

Bandai doesn't ship directly to them because they, like 99% of other anime stores in the US use whole-sale distributors that Bandai does ship to.

Sorry, hard for us to know when you previously wrote:

Helpfully point out what? By talking out of your ass about a company you've never used? I'll gladly TOFTT and chance it to see if HF can or cannot be deemed a reliable source for V2s. I've shopped from them on and off for 10 years for many legit bandai and kotobukiya products ranging from toys to pvc figures to model kits (Yeah I also bought a few recast resin kits too, in other words I am a shithead who supports piracy :p). I haven't been burnt by them yet. Worst case scenario they just don't get the pre-orders to fill everyone's (or anyone's) orders and oh well live and let learn.

This really isn't helping your case of trying to "help" the MW community. Exploding in epic-fashion and being direspectful to everyone isn't helping you accomplish anything.

For a moment I thought you meant Hobby Search, had to do a double take. I don't think they're going to get these; in fact just for fun I just put 899 of those into my shopping cart and their site was actually going to let me check out with that many. I can't imagine Bandai is going to actually ship product to a company that is known for bootlegging products.

I get what you are saying. What I'm asking is has anyone actually goten a V2 from those guys, ever? I've never even seen them mentioned here before. Kind of surprised actually given that they mostly just bootleg and "reissue" garage kits. Can't imagine they're going to be able to fill my order for 899 units. :D

So as you can CLEARLY see from my posts I was pointing out that there is no way these are legit preorders as their webstore would allow 899 (or more) of these to be preordered. When I said "Can't imagine they're going to be able to fill my order for 899 units" with a laughing face it was patently clear that I did not actually order that many. But hey, if you want to be a moron and believe that a company who would have accepted an order for 899 valks had I clicked submit is actually going to fill your order then...well you know what they say about swampland for sale.

Furthermore HF SELLS BOOTLEGS! I can't believe you are going to try to defend them. Here's a great example:

    http://www.hobbyfan.com/product_info.php?products_id=14865

Metal Bug...so it's ok that these shits sell pirated ILLEGAL product that violates SNK's Metal Slug rights? You're going to actually defend that? And you even admit in your post that you are ok with pirated items. So Macrossworld is pro-bootleg now? Seriously is a mode even paying attention to this? Maybe people like you who promote BOOTLEGGERS should be banned. Funny how I'm the a$$hat here but people who admit to supporting bootleggers are valued members. I thought we supported licensed products obtained through legitimate channel here, but obviously not. No problem, I'm gone. There doesn't seem to be an option to delete my account so if a Mod would please do so it would be appreaciated, as I will NOT be associated with a forum whose members promotes piracy. Have fun with your pirated toys. When the companies who's rights you violate go out of business you'll only have yourself to thank for STEALING FROM THEM. Shithead.

  7. Not to criticize you Lupin but I feel that you're kind of an "a$$hat" yourself. ;) No offense though.

I think a part of the pre-order madness (not exclusively) is that people just file in as many pre-order slots as they can just to be sure.

And it gets worse and worse with every release and part of that is the release schedule of Bandai regarding the Macross Frontier items.

If you want every release you have now three pre-orders pending. The YF-29 re-issue, the VF-171CF and the RVF-25.

And non of us know how many units are available so maybe there will be units available at release date.

It's a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy people see that items are rare and pre-ordering more units than they want resulting in smaller pre-order windows

with every further release and no valve to release the tension because there are no actual releases.

I don't know if I was extremely lucky but I was able to order a VF-25G from amiami at the release date. *shrug*

Wait...what? Why am I an asshat? What did I do to you? Maybe you misunderstood. Hobbyfan is NOT getting these, those guys are bootleggers that make most of their money by taking other's people's garage kits and illegally making recasts of them in China. I did not actually order 899 of the RVF-25 from them; I can think of far better uses for ~$118,000. My point was that preorders from them are bullshit, they are not getting these and the last thing I would be doing is giving my credit card info to bootleggers. If you guys are stupid enough to do that then you deserve whatever you get. Not sure how I'm an "asshat" for pointing out that preorders with HF are complete bullshit...I am seriosuly getting sick of this forum. Any time I try to helpfully point something out to people everyone attacks me. Honestly go screw yourselves. Give your credit card to known bootleggers, I hope they use your numbers to pay for visits to Japanese love hotels and you're unable to reverse the charges. a-holes.

  8. who knows. Still have 2 from NY so if Hobbyfan goes through it's a only a bonus :D

  9. It's a long-shot, but I just pre-ordered a few off of Hobbyfan.com. I doubt they'll pull through but if they do I'll be pleasantly surprised.

For a moment I thought you meant Hobby Search, had to do a double take. I don't think they're going to get these; in fact just for fun I just put 899 of those into my shopping cart and their site was actually going to let me check out with that many. 10. The V1 releases of Michael and Luca ONLY came bundled with their respective super packs, so yeah. The bundles were also the only ones to come with stands the first time around.

Personally, I'm ok ordering the packs separately this time because it saves me the trouble of getting duplicate valks just to get the packs, but I'd much rather see bundles to begin with. I may be wrong here, but it seems like the renewal releases are spaced much further apart than the originals. Granted, there've been a few releases in between to break things up (the 171 and YF-29s), but it's like Bandai has gone with a "we're only going to work on one release at a time, and we're not going to bundle anything ever" approach to the renewals.

I'm pretty sure the first time around, Michael and Luca were released almost simultaneously.

I'll be honest though... for as much time as Luca spent out of fighter mode, or without packs (did they ever even come off?), I'm almost tempted to just pick up the v1 release that NY is still selling, and be done with it. I feel like the RVF-25 really needs those packs to help balance out the design.

Looks like someone beat you to it (unless that was you who got their last one). Ok so the Super Parts (for the YF-29 30th) are 3150¥ and the Armor Parts for the VF-171 were 5040¥, the valks retail for ~14000¥ and the RVF-25 V1 retailed for 17,000¥...so surprisingly that's about the same price point depending on which parts kit. Not bad then, I thought Bandai was really fleecing us.

  11. When is HLJ opening up their preorder this is getting old fast and we have 1 more valk after this and then Bandi can go and #$#% themselves

Well potentially 4 more with the 3 VF-27 variants and the RVF-171...think of all the frustration you still might have to look forward to!

I'm not that familiar with the V1 releases, didn't the RVF only come with it's armor the first time around? Is Bandai actually pulling product out of the box this time? With customers as pissed as they already are about availability? If so that's some seriously egotistical testicular fortitude.

  12. Honestly, we've been enjoying nothing less than a total Macross renaissance the last few years. There has never been this many high quality goods available as quickly as these goods have been available. We can grumble about the quality of some of Bandai's toys and their relative scarcity, but just a few short years ago having this much stuff available? I don't think many of us could have even imagined it. Bandai is even making completely unimportant side-mechs like the VF-171? We might get a toy of a video game exclusive mech soon? It took yamato upwards of a decade to make toys available of some of these mechs. Bandai has made toys of relatively comparable quality available immediately. That's a hell of a turnaround from how things were for this fandom before they went all in on Frontier.

It might be annoying that it's hard to get these toys at the prices we want to pay but to say they're mismanaging the brand is pretty short-sighted. I know it's easy to get spoiled but let's look at things a little more objectively here, really.

I think a lot of folks are just getting even more angered by Bandai's antics than previously due to the fact that Yamato/Arcadia is currently MIA due to the restructuring. We know for a fact that Bandai at the very least has the VF-171CF, the RVF-25, the VF-27, a reissue of the YF-29 30th and the Vajra coming out this year. Contrast that with...well pretty much nothing from Yamato. So basically people are left worrying that while Macross interest is at an almost all-time high, the only Valks coming out in the forseeable future basically can't be bought for less than 2-3 times retail. If Yamato/Arcadia had already announced any combination of a new wave of reissued Option-Parts-enhanced Valks, a new Destroid, a V2 and/or new Valks from Macross Zero, the V3 YF-19, a VF-2SS, or the FB2012 Version of the VF-4G then it wouldn't be so infuriating that the only Valks announced for the first half of this year are from Bandai.

  13. Should they give it up? No. But what they should do is stand aside and not prevent anyone else who wants to play from using the license. They've shown a complete inability to meet demand and I can't imagine another company couldn't do better. Plus Bandai has never made anything as amazing as the Max Factory Big O...imagine that kind of engineering in a Valk. Sure it'd be $500 but it'd be worth every penny AND you'd be able to buy it at retail instead of 3-4x the cost.

I do find it funny though how when I joined I was an evil bastard for daring to speak ill of Bandai's inability to meet consumer demand and now we have polls like this. Funny how times change. Guess I'm a trend setter.

  14. Haha....that Ebay scalper I linked to in disgust last night must have not gotten any....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/RENEWAL-VF-RVF-25-Messiah-Valkyrie-Luca-Bandai-DX-Chogokin-Macross-Frontier-F-/321081416127?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D5938814571384507417%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D321081416127%26

...he closed his auction without any sales. Awww....too bad, so sad. Serves him right for trying to fleece folks hours before these even went on sale, douche bag. Haha, he thinks he's getting $1500 for a set of the Armor Plus Tekkaman Blade figures. What an a$$hat.

  15. Yeah I searched that (Ebay) right after I left the Amiami fiasco. What is so sad is my scanner caught it, but I could not get it to add to the cart lol.

It was actually up at least an hour before Amiami put them on sale. It's kind of ridiculous that some douche in NY is selling them hours before they go up with no guarantee that he's even getting one and Ebay lets this crap fly. Sold out on HS btw.
