It does strike me as a little cliche, yes.
-
If we're going to start debating Gundams, Han Solo and Optimus Prime, then maybe this thread needs to die.
-
If I wanted to write some Zentradi characters speaking in Zentran, does anyone know how to write that? Or do I just write, "so-and-so swore loudly in Zentran?"
-
I guess Megumi Nakajima is into pink.
-
Back in First Macross, did they have the ability to control QF-3000E Ghost fighters from Valkyries like the VE-1 and the VEFR-1?
-
Considering the number of colonies and colony fleets, that does seem kinda small.

He's also a fictional character, same as characters in anime which is another form of fiction. I don't see anything wrong with looking up to a character like Luke as long as you remember where he comes from. Oh and don't whine about power converters at the Tosche Station.

If you still aren't impressed by episode 4... maybe skip ahead and watch 14. If that doesn't grab you then this show is not for you.
-
Do you mean the first three eps?
-
Anyway, I think the original point was, why drag Gundam or any other anime into this? Let's not use weird stuff in Gundam to explain or contrast weird stuff that happens in Macross.

Hey folks, soaking-wet noob here. I just started reacquainting myself with the original series and am happy to have found this forum. I will accept dumb answers (or links) to these dumb questions:
Does the Supervision Army figure in any of the sequel projects?
From the Macross Mecha Manual: The name given to Protoculture and Zentradi people mentally controlled to fight for the Protodeviln (from Macross 7), a race of spiritual energy life forms from a sub-universe outside the known universe. Eventually the Supervision Army and the Protodeviln are defeated, but remnants of the Supervision Army still exist even to the present.
Really only in passing.
Has anyone attempted to map out exactly how and/or where Macross City was configured within the ship? The DYRL version was in the legs/engine sections. Not sure about the TV version.

It's very interesting where this thread has gone originally from my review of Macross II.
-
Why? Gundams don't have faces.
-
Yeah but Basara has nothing to do with Gundam.

My brain is shortcircuiting. The only response that leaps to mind is CURSE YOUR SUDDEN BUT INEVITABLE BETRAYAL!

Speaking of all this, does anyone notice that zeheart(spelling?) seems to look a LOT like Wolf? I wonder if there is some hidden relation between the two characters...
I'm not sure, since his last name is Galette, same as Decil.

Gott love the 90s!

Episode 17 was kinda ho-hum this week. Hopefully they ramp it up next time. And who here is sick of montages?
-
That depends if Kathy is hot enough to make up for Ozma not dating two women at once and them being okay about it.
-
Yeah man, get down wit your Destroid self.
-
Dude, I wish I could draw Valks like you.
-
So we went from Macross to Highlander in just a few posts? That's something.

Yeah, Docker was a jerk. Kinryu was so much more awesome. I mean, the man was dating Sally and Miho at the same time.
And Basara's Fire Excalibur does hold some appeal to me as on old Power Rangers fan.

What can I say, I'm a details man. I suppose it comes from being an old Star Wars fan, where the EU and the wikis have exhaustive amounts of information.
