  1. Well, my story is that I wanted to expand my mecha horizons. Bck in about March or so, I had just watched Mobile Fighter G Gundam for the first time (and loved it) and got into about 11 episodes of Victory Gundam before it uber-depressed me. I wanted something new and different. I remembered that I had seen an episode, or rather 5 minutes of an episode of Robotech once on Cartoon Network. I believe it was episode 2, when Rick/Hikaru slammed his Valk into Minmay's restaurant/apartment? From there I made the leap to the fact that the boys on my favorite podcast, Gundamn!@MAHQ, had said that Robotech was really three different shows in one. I did a little searching and found out that Macross was the part with the transforming fighter planes. Now, I'm an old-school Star Wars fan (which is kind of funny considering I'm only 25) so starfighters are really attractive to me. So I watched SDF on Hulu... and pretty much fell in love. Yeah, it doesn't have the greatest animation at times but it was still awesome. I then gobbled up DYRL and Frontier. Frontier was a little off-putting because I was a brand new fan but then I saw Plus, Flashback, M7, 7 Encore, Dynamite 7, Galaxy is Calling Me, Zero and just finished up with the two MFrontier movies. At this point in time I would say that my most favorite entry in the whole franchise would have to be a tie between First Macross and Plus, with my least favorite being Zero.

So here's hoping we get some kind of OVA for Macross' 30th Anniversary!! DECULCHA!!!

  2. You're not implying Fire Bomber produces musical vomit are you? Because you're going to have to turn in that Ozma Lee avatar if that's true, mister.

As the posts of English Fire videos indicate, I'm implying that Fire Bomber AMERICAN is what grinds my gears. Give me Basara, Mylene, Ray and Veffidas ANY day.

  3. Pondering upon Macross once again and after watching the second Frontier movie I came to the realization that the true villians of the story were essentially humans. So I'm going back to the drawing board for my villains for Macross Delta. But that's not too bad as I think I'm going to concentrate on finishing Odyssey first. In fact I'll definitely finish that one first.

I also bring to you this little nugget of fanfiction I found on Deviant Art, called Macross 2012-Insurrection. Not the greatest story ever but the writer seems to know most of his lore. What do you think?

  4. Not quite out there. I just did it would take to learn to adapt, not that it is doing something serious.

It was only an exercise of imagination. Something that anyone could do.

I could use another anime, Eureka Seven, and say it wascolonized in a world where "veritechs" could only fly oversurfboards.

In my view, could even adapt to the Macross 7 for Robotech universe.

Robotech 7 huh? And since HG would likely be too cheap to pay fees for the Fire Bomber songs, we'd get some horrible new sound that would surpass Fire Bomber American in musical vomit. Actually, they wouldn't even bother would they? RT characters singing Japanese rock would kinda ruin the whole Robotech schtick, right?

  5. Well my grandpa has managed to hang in there. Thank heaven that he wasn't actually AT Pearl Harbor when the bombing happened. But he did spend 6 years trucking around the Pacific without one hour of leave. He didn't even get a proper uniform until he got to San Fransisco on his way home! :)
