As crazy as it sounds though, it can be done, you've just got to create another character that appeals to the fans the way hunter did. And judging from TSC, it seems HG believes this new character might be Marcus Rush but then again only the die hard fanatics desperate for anything with the RT logo slapped on it, would be foolish enough to buy into this.

Well that is why they're failures at this point, and a lot of fans are wising up to their BS. This is also why we need someone else to take over RT, and someone who's not going to half ass everything. I can't say that WB wouldn't be in it only for the money, cause that much is obvious *cough* competing with Bayformers *cough* but it's obvious they can do a hell lot better than HG has.

yeah, this I'm aware of because I'm one of the few who doesn't care, I just want a good story to follow. that's the thing, they CAN but they choose not to.

Of course I'm not talking about any of the HG staff, they have already proven they lack the ability to come up with anything that's not a rip of something else. I'm saying if someone else could take over, and give the RT fandom something new, then they'd be better off. They have the options of looking for someone else, but apparently they believe crap like TSC is doing so well, that there's no need to find someone with an actual imagination. As long as HG is the one behind the creativity then yes, but if someone else can take the reins, then RT can continue without Rick Hunter. I'm not a hard core fan, but I do like it. I watched macross II on television many years ago and downloaded DYRL and watched that. I'm more attracted to some of the art styles more than anything, and I do have a slight interest in Frontier, being that a friend of mine said it has some similarities with my story, so I'm just curious to find out what those are. Which is just pathetic, he's old now time to move on.

while this is true, it can change and you know how? First, someone needs to create a story that is original, with characters that people will actually give a damn about. They need something that can take the series in a whole new direction, without losing the appeal that made the original series what it is. Robotech can't continue relying on the original characters for all of its future works. Rick Hunter has to die sometime, right?

This is Hollywood we're talking about, and so we can expect the SDF-1 to crash land near New York or even L.A. Rick Hunter will be an emo wuss, and the minmei type character will be a pop princess or R&B diva. and as for the soundtrack, just be prepared for mainstream rap, and rock hits, especially linkin park. Can't have an emo Rick hunter without teh linkin park you know?

I am seeing it sometime this week, and I've heard there are shaky camera scenes but on a scale of 1 to 10, how bad are those scenes? Are they cloverfield bad or not. just wondering

you do have a point there, which is why I've really never bothered with anything new they came out with. I got TSC for my birthday two years ago, worst present ever. It does suck though, and when I discovered RT back in 97 I always thought it would be cool to see a movie based on it, and now that there is going to be a movie and it's a complete re-imagining it is kind of a slap in the face because I don't know what to expect at all. It could be good but it could also be a utter piece of crap, which I'm more afraid of. I know the facts and whole legal issues so I've accepted that, but either way I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I'd rather see a Halo movie, at least that has a better chance of being a success and it has a bigger fanbase.

yes the fans do need something of their own, but I would rather it be something good than something cheap and half assed.

I love that book and I've always thought that the misspelling of the word, added to the creepy atmosphere of the story. I was also surprised to find out that King scared himself so badly writing that book, that he actually kept it in a drawer and refused to publish it until his wife read it and encouraged him. Desperation is still my favorite though, and I'm still waiting for a movie adaption.

They certainly don't make computers like they used to, my old compaq presario lasted a good six years before the power pack died, and being it had been abused by UPS when I had it shipped to me from CA, it was pretty much damaged so I ended up buying a new computer only to find out it was installed with Vista and not even a few months later the second disk drive just broke for some strange reason. My boyfriend even had the same problem with his new computer, second disk drive just stopped working. It seems the desktops are just built half-assed on purpose today, while the laptops are far more reliable. I love mine, I bought it about two years ago. It's an Acer brand and it also came with vista, but I love it I've only had to replace the fan in it once it because of a dust problem but other than that no problems at all *knock on wood* one thing I don't like about vista is it already has a tablet function installed so when installing another like my wacom graphire it seems to interfere and cause it to screw up, but lucky I found how out how to fix that by downloading and installing a special driver that's compatible with vista.

I bought a wireless modem to sync with my 360 once and it never worked at all in fact I ended up having to cancel my wireless internet and exchange it for a cable modem instead. I've also had bad luck with a brand new scanner/printer/copier I got for christmas. It just stopped working one day and I could never figure out why.

well the whole issue behind that is just ridiculous as hell. He's pissed off because you told him to stop attacking waters 7 (this is exactly what he told me in IM) so now because you're defending waters and getting on his case, he thinks you're just as bad as the rest of those he constantly argues with. I honestly don't understand what that's all about, I don't see a point in defending Robotech. Not everyone shares the same views, so instead of acting like immature children, why don't they just ignore trolls and respect the opinions of others? He honestly has no reason to bash you, you've done nothing but tell him to knock his crap off. I've also done the same which is why he doesn't post in that thread anymore.
