  1. I hate to tell you this but there's no such thing as the price settling down when it comes to the VF-25's. Bandai make so few you have to jump on them when they're new or the prices will only get higher.

  2. I oppose line art tyranny.

I agree with this, but even still. There's plenty of deviations from the lineart in the other toys that doesn't particularly bother me. If it doesn't affect transformation, and I'm not entirely sure those canards might not with the way they have to fold down and fit beneath the fuelselage when tucked under in Battroid, why not make it as close as possible?

  3. I don't believe anything came from people here.

You might not but plenty of others do. The people saying we're criticizing the CAD are wrong. We're noting differences/inaccuracies. Things we like that Yamato may have missed. We know Graham has contacts and he's asked us for input and spoken directly with the company before. There's evidence things found in the past have been caught and changed. None of us are saying "those wings are off, Yamato sucks, they should all die." We only noticed and noted a few things that don't mesh with the lineart and have brought them up.

  4. Can you tone down the OCD in your posts

You're a kewl pony, but it seems like you're just looking for every tiny reason not to buy something.

It's a valid question. The only issue here is it's in direct response to your assertion the fins will move therefore they can be aligned which could be very, very wrong. Unless they lock in place that may not be the case, those YF-21/VF-22 wings hold okay at their maximum but they also have to move for transformation and they dont' always hold that great at angles that aren't fully extended/fully closed. What's with your super-defender attitude toward this particular Valk? We're voicing what we feel is important, you keep trying to bat people down.

  5. Yep, 2D all the way. Really no interest in seeing anything in 3D.

Although I could possibly be tempted to watch Star Wars, A New Hope in 3D, as long as Han shoots first!

    Graham

To be honest after seeing the trailer for Phantom Menace in 3D I don't think the Star Wars movies will look good at all. Adding 3D to older 2D movies in post is already spotty and I felt the stuff I saw for EP1 looked HORRIBLE. I'd rather just have Han shooting first in 2D again.

  6. I might have to pick one up once this re-release happens though, the design has grown on me a bit. Though I'll be heavily tempted to paint it a nice flat gull gray color. That paint makes the thing look a bit like a chameleon caught in a pimp's wardrobe.

You're right, after flipping through the 25 Master File book last night the design is pretty cool looking when it's in some real military-style colors. I'm not sure these things are easily painted with their glossy finishes though, are they?

  7. I think this right here is a good example why Yamato should release a VF-11 unpainted, unassembled kit like they did for the VF-1. It lends itself so well to mods and repaints. I'd bet it would be a pretty popular kit. I know I'd buy several just for a crack at a few different schemes.

  8. I see what you mean about the difference in the gradual versus more dramatic slope near the guns. The conformal wells I wouldn't necessarily say are different. if it shifts forward/back you can pretty much figure out aproximately where they go. The slope above the cannons is a little different. Either way I'm starting to see why people are so concerned about there being a good fighter mode. The wing span and alignment of fins/wings makes a huge difference in how it looks.

  9. It's nothing more than a stylized version of the VF-1, that's plain to see. In terms of it's figher mode I don't really get why people like it. In terms of Gerwalk and Battroid it's kind of cool in the same way a modern Mustang is kinda cool because it's obviously lifting old aesthetics from the classic cars but still adhering to a modern sensibility. It may not look nearly as good as the original but I'm not necessarily offended by it's derivative nature.

all the same, i've nearly pulled the trigger on a copy of that kit a few times, and i just yet might one of these odd days.

here's to YAMATO somehow managing to pick up the license to produce a 1/60 P. TRANS.

becase, detractors say what you may, this is something that really needs to happen, right alongside a 1/60 VF-2JA!!

    I'd buy a 2 and a 2JA if they were made.
