  1. Which is a shame, really, the best parts are all in the first half. Diana's life history and all (which I grant, you've already seen :) ). The character development episodes were great, too. That episode with Diana trying to do her bit by helping out with the nursing of the injured, that was a pretty good episode.

bob: Well, I have seen some that underrate Turn A, saying that it was because of Yoko Kanno... I say that's a load of crap. Of course, she did help set the mood, but the show was already good from when it started. I watched it back when it just aired in Japan, even (thanks to bootie VCDs, lol). I can't quite put my finger on it... it's just captivating. To me, anyways.

Let's not forget about Tomino's latest work: Overman King Gainer. Whackiness, but fun, nevertheless. Somehow Tomino might've gotten the idea for King Gainer's opening from Johnny Bravo's. "Do the monkey!"

  2. Thanks to the 'new' Tomino, we have the wonderful Turn A Gundam, which is much underappreciated. Come on! It's a darn masterpiece! (though I watched it without subs, so I didn't understand everything, but thanks to mahq.net that's been fixed somewhat) BTW, if I remember correctly, it was the Gundam Evolve 3 (G Gundam) that came with PG Mk-2. I can't remember where Evolve 2 came from (but I have a faint memory about it originating from the 'Gundam, the Ride'), or even Evolve 1. Not like it matters anyway, unless you want to hunt the originals, which aren't perfect since there have been several complaints regarding errors in getting them to play. Bad disc printing? Looks to be so.

  3. Hmm, as I expected, Lament of Innocence appears to play like the classic Castlevania series, i.e. before Circle of Blood (first Dracula X/Casltevania X). Nothing wrong with that, IMO. So far from what I've played, only Super Castlevania 4 has given me the best control over the whip, it really renders Richter somewhat more useless, but he makes up for it with his crash attack. Speaking of crash attacks, I don't think you can execute that in Lament of Innocence?

As for Megaman not working in 3D... Well, I enjoyed Megaman Legends to a certain extent (except the voice-acting). It would turn into a totally different gameplay rather than your average Megaman/Rockman gameplay, I give it that.

  4. Yep, I've seen the opening, so I know what you're talking about. Someone even went through the trouble of doing a V Gundam music video with Layzner's opening song "~Lonely Way~ Merosu no Youni" (tv sized), doing the same annoying thing. Probably to mock that part, heheh. Thanks for the info!

  5. Hmm, action-wise, I was disappointed. Plot-wise, I was more than happy. Despite the short-length, I found pieces of the 'new' Tomino in it which made it a good watch. Overall, it was great. Of course, like you said, the music helped with the mood, too.

  6. Lol, but it depends on which SD we're talking about. Thanks to SUPERIOR DEFENDER, the entire thing's jumbled up now. Before it was just Super Deformed Gundam, now it's moved on to confuse us when we say SD. When I say SD, I'm only referring to the one and only true Super Deformed world, for I despise the other 'SD'.

Besides, the SD Gundam series is hilarious! Gotta love how they mock the aspects of the original Gundam shows. Especially Char and Shaaaa. XD

  7. Actually, Transformers and the Brave Robot saga (includes Gaogaigar) are made by 2 different studios, Brave Robots are by Sunrise, Transformers... I don't know, lol. I seem to prefer the Brave Robot series. Brave Robot includes shows such as Exkaiser, Mightgaine, Fighbird, and others which I've forgotten the names of.

Well, there's Aura Battler Dunbine, which has Billvine that transforms. There's also Galvion. And Gravion, which I think many people are familiar with.

Space Runaway Ideon. Let's not forget Machine Robo. Also, a show which was dubbed with the name Ninja Robots (can't remember the Japanese title). There's also Metal Jack which is TECHNICALLY a transforming robo anime. Gosaurer. Raijin-oh. And I don't know/can't remember others.

  8. Which is, the only fansub out there (fansubS was the wrong word there, it wasn't a plural, lol). And I'm talking about that one. Oh well. But like I said, it doesn't look like they made big errors (but if they made errors on small areas, that would be questionable, wouldn't it?) *shrug* Anyways, enjoy.

  9. I must say I'm pretty impressed with the animation quality. (Although in terms of looks, it's still funky, nevertheless the animation is fluid, heck, it's even better than some of Sunrise's other shows, especially Gundam) The fansubs have some errors though, vernier was translated as barrier and shield, lol. Another bit as well, where the operator says "Understood", the context was wrong as well. But it got the message through and wasn't altered too greatly. Minor errors here and there shouldn't do too much problems.

  10. A transforming Escaflowne toy/product really doesn't look right. Well, the fact that it transforms via semi-morphing, probably shows why it's like that. BTW Graham, did the folks at Yamato mention anything about the transformation design being borrowed from Studio Halfeye? It really looks like Studio Halfeye's version, so I was just wondering.

Despite the fact that I said it doesn't look right, I think I'll pick one up. :)

  11. Hmm, good point. Heheh. BTW, I don't see any mentioning of scales. Doesn't bother you how big/small they are? Of course, if shelf space is a limitation, 1/144 is always the way to go, not to mention cheaper. Meanwhile I'm still looking for the Junchoon ODK and Junchoon Last Type in 1/100.

  12. Have you tried it out? I've been meaning to, but haven't been to a toystore to find lego parts...

BTW, those supposed 'beam sabers' on the S-Gundam and its upgrades are actually Beam Cannons. I used to think they were beam sabers, too, since the ZZ Gundam has those as beam sabers. The beam sabers for the S-Gundam is actually located at the knee. Odd place to put a melee weapon if you ask me.
