  1.

No stickers no landing gears and no pilot!!

The two turbines rotate when you blow air and the cockpit opens.

    I'm glad I bought it ^_^

I am having an associate grab one for me on the trip to Japan. I don't know what I'm thinking spending this kind of money on this. But it is too cool and I LOVE Hikaru!

  2. Thanks for the link. Couldn't pass this up. Picked up a few sets and might try my hand at applying them when they arrive. Will let you guys know how they work out.

I'm wondering if I should wait for the review or get them before they're all gone.

Edit - On second thought. There are no "VF" decals on those sheets. I really don't know how many of those decals iwould even use.

  3. The side covers and neck piece are on the valkyrie, relax dude. ^_^

I'm in love with this toy.

Oh. I'm relaxed. I meant "WTF?!?" to the "feet covers". I've never seen that. I was unaware that the GBP had those.

Also. I could not see the side covers and still am having a hard time seeing them. I never said that they were gone out of the package. The neck pieve I constantly forget about. But I see it now as well. Thanks for pointing it out. ^_^

So. About those "feet covers". WTF!?!?!:lol:

  4. No, the 1/60 VF-1 are all made in the same factory.

I spoke with Yamato yesterday about the difference in tampo printing and they said that basically they are experimenting with each release to see what looks best. I told them the 'more is better' approach is the best.

Anyway, I just picked up the new cannon fodder VF-1A TV type and noticed that it has "Prometheus" tampo printed on the tail fins. Way cool. That to me makes up for the loss of the other small markings.

    Graham

GREAT! Thanks Graham. You are the man!

Can Yamato give us decals instead of stickers too?

I don't know about the costs; but stickers sometime cheapen the overall crispy look of the Yammies.

You mean like WaterSlide decals? That would be excellent. I agree that the stickers they have sometimes make the VF-1 look cheap.

so it seems that we've been buying experimental Yammies for almost a year now

valk w/ crappy shoulders hinges, valk w/ non-cracking but looser hinge... valk w/ these markings and that, valk w/out... valk w/ markings tampoed, valk stickered up to match... valk w/ PITA crotch, valk w/ new crotch

they could've just asked from the start... poll here would probably have 99% say print everything. <_<

I personally would not say to tampo "everything". But, a lot of tampoing I would not mind at all.

    YES - tampo print away! I don't do stickers . . .

    I do when necessary.

That would look horrible! Much like a tatted out person that mutilated their body.

Agree and Disagree. It depends on how much tampoing gets done.

  5. Ahhh come on man! I'm just gonna drop a "G" on a MISB and open it so I can restore my childhood.

Not with all these Macross toys saturated and so many options. It was well worth the "G" before Yamato took over and the released 1/55.

Based on what brah?? Hmmm...... no set in stone price. Varies on the buyer(s) and what they are willing to pay!

Prices has dipped. So has the Takatoku 1/55. Even a MIB unused VF-1S Strike Valk struggles to sell at approx. $300 bucks.

In this case turbolove925. AgentGHQ knows what he is talking about. Everyone here knows his HiMetal (Bandai) collection. He has multiple VE and VT mint and sealed. I would listen to him and not pay that crazy amount of money. If you think just because it is AFA Graded it is worth more. You ARE wrong. Sorry. But the truth hurts.

  6. HOLLY CR*P! I can't believe what I'm seeing! The daring! The artistry! MY MIND CAN'T HANDLE THE AMOUNT OF AWESOME GOING ON IN THIS POSE!!!

    *dies*

:o :o HOLY CRAP heres more lame poses for you

Even though that was funny. You are an artist Vegas. Your shots are close to flawless. Angles, light, crispness...this is what makes you amazing.

I know it's been done a billion times, but the classic Hikaru 1S final battle scene pose will always be one of my favorites

I think this is the first pose I have seen you post Kirik. I will not deny, no matter how many times this pose is shown, it always looks good. ;) It does'nt help that I LOVE Hikaru.

  7. haha, pst, your fanboy is showing.

Yamato pretty much opened the door to mass produced anime accurate transforming toys/collectibles. They took an old license that hadn't seen a modern toy in nearly a decade... the bandai m7 toys were even *worse* than the original 1/55 line up, less articulate, paint apps and accuracy. The 1/48 vf-1 took the market from garage kits or toys that made serious compromises and made way for the takara MP line up. So while yamato was making highly accurate, perfect transformation toys, what where the competitors doing? Making minor upgrades to decades old molds? re-issuing 20 year old toys? Making toys that were basically designed first and animated latter.

There's only one other company that has released a PT toy on parity with what Yamato has done and that is Beagle.

Yamato has had a lot of screw ups, poor QC, some design flaws, boxes that were too big, hands that were too small, whatever, but it's laughable to accuse them of thinking too conservatively. They've taken some pretty big risks, and have shown a willingness to continue to do so.

    Now can I say it?

    SNAP!

  8. well, you're not the only one fooled... the first time i saw his flexi poses even in f-mode, i thought - "how the hell did he do that?!?!"... after looking more closely, i figured out his technique and that's what got me sold on these flexi stands... :) ingenious really... just pose the valk first in your hands, try to support it using 2 rods only and then find the cog and use the third rod to support it...

we should really get some kind of royalty for advertising these stands... ;):p

Well. I was talking with Carlos about purchasing a case of them. He gave me a decent price. But then I thought. What am I going to do with 40 6inch flexi display stands. I will be able to use prob. 10. But not 40. I don't think.

  9. there are some poses w/c surprisingly can be balanced using only 2 rods... looks to me though that a majority of ruskii's flexi poses actually use all 3 rods just like his last one w/ his tv max, but it looks like he's only using 2 coz he strategically uses one of the rods as a counter to one of the other rods to balance the weight of the valk where it would usually fall if not supported.

Argh...it would seem you are right. Sneeky Aussie

  10. ruskii inspired balancing act... :)

Not bad. ^_^ But, I do not think ruskii uses all three posts. I think he does only 2.

On a positive note. I really like your back ground. I love green.
