  1. About a year ago I was frothing at the mouth from the seemingly endless storm of Valkyries that would be coming our way: the Yamato's, Bandai reissues, heck even the MPC had me excited. Right after I got the original '48 1A however, the desire started to drop dramatically. I used to think it had something to do with all of the Yamato bashers and QC freaks in the 'Forums, but now that I think about it, I just have a much harder time justifying the purchase of a toy that costs as much as these Valkyries do cost....Of course, this is far different than a few years ago when I skipped a mortgage payment just to buy my first Strike Valkyrie.

I can't even remember the last anime I bought-it might've been one of the Noir episodes, but unfortunately all Noir did was spoil whatever anime hunger I had left. I dunno, maybe I've just outgrown the whole scene.....

  2. I don't think that it will ever be possible to reproduce the impossibly sleek form of the '21 as seen in the anime, and you can probably bet that no one else is going to try, at least in a toy. Prices for the 'Plus mecha are the best that they've ever been, so I say bite the bullet and get them both-you probably won't regret it....

  3. I don't know. I've been reading these Yamato QC threads before Christ supposively walked the Earth, and I just can't believe that it is that much of an issue. Not one of my Yamato's has had any issues...Well, my '21 FP didn't have the paperwork but hey, neither do any of my kitchen help.....

  4. Looks like procrastinating and being a cheapskate has paid off. I most definitely will buy the new 'Roy.....

Also, if they end up reissuing the "Low Availability Valkyrie" I will be seriously annoyed.....

  5. Back in the day, oh about 4 or 5 years ago, when the demand for Valkyries was high and production of any were nonexistent, I paid about $1200 each for three Bandai 'Strikes.

I look back at that now and can't believe I ever did such a thing. Even with the money, a purchase like that has still gotta' hurt....

  6. Right back where we started...not knowing what's happening. :p

Seriously. At this point discussing the matter is useless, and we'd be better off banging our heads against Valkyrie-Exchanges' empty 1/48 Fast-Pak shelves. Heck, Macross is basically contraband here in the 'States, yet I am still able to buy my Valkyries, M0 episodes and whatnot, so I see no reason to even care about any judgements regarding the rights. Sure, I won't be able to catch the Low Visibility Valkyrie at a K-mart Blue Light Special sale, but I think I can live with that....

  7. Uh... I'm still saving up for FAST packs, the 1/48 Hikaru 1S, the 1/48 Hikaru 1J...

Sheesh. I'm still saving for Valkyries. $400 dollars? Of couse, this isn't even the Konig....

By the way, just how big is this thing supposed to be? As far as I'm concerned the bigger the better-it's a barrel of laughs not being able to see my own floor, and when they come over the call girls love that stuff....

  8. My mother, god rest her soul, bought me a Takatoku VF-1S from the local comic shop back in '89 or so. I remember that evening well....playing with my snappity-clickety new VF-1S while watching the premiere of Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine" video, featuring Sam Kinison.......

  9. :( I had the orig. Voltron... The entire thing with all the cats that came togeather to make one big robot. Some little kid that my Mom's friend brought over ran into my room, grabbed it, and threw it out the window.

Someone shoulda' thrown HIM out the window to go get it.

Anyways, the Trendmaster's Lion-Bot paint job was what always bothered me. It always seemed to be just a little off, or something. Strangely enough, I never encountered any mechanical problems with the cats...
