  1. New resolution : New career, get a date with a chicks again, MUST BUY at least 1 Yamato valkyries.

Happy New Year to all fellow MW members.

New year resolution : get a gf, buy some more toys and starting a new job in a few days. B))

  2. we NEED 1/60 Regults!!!!!!

looking at pictures of their original announcement of the Quadlunn Rau, I have the impression it was supposed to be much bigger than it actually came out...I am not sure if I want a Regult that is to scale with that QR or its "REAL" size?

And make a god damn 1/60 Tactical Pod Glaug too.

  3. I just wish Yamato would slow down with their releases. It's impossible to keep up at the moment, especially with the high strength of the Japanese Yen.

For the first time in many years, I'm having to be selective about which and how many Macross toys I buy. :(

I agree that too, especailly all the VF-1 series. They should slow down a bit. But to not other mechs, such as Destroids.

I can understand Yamato just want to release more macross product quickly. Since they can take an advantage with the current Macross Frontier market wave.

But the strong Yen , high price mark products and weak economy are killing all the collectors outside Japan.

  4. Yamato, just to our voice -

Give us some damn 1/60 enermy mechs such as Regult, Glaug Officer Pod, Nousjadel Ger or even 1/60 some enermy soliders.

And a 'nice' scale TV version SDF1 and some enermy ships too!

WHo the hell is the Yamato marketing guy doing? These toys will sell great cause NOBODY has done them!

  5. The toy in general is highly sturdy and very durable. The true test is to test out the shoulder hinges under stress. From what you did, nothing would really break. You have to pose the shoulders a lot, move the shoulder hinge in and out, see if there are any cracks, if there aren't, the problem might be solved.

There are breakages no matter where the pin is facing, so I really don't know, the only viable solution I can think of is to mold the hinges out of POM and be done with it.

Is there any confirmation about the shoulder hinges material being used on 1J and Hikaru 1s are different than the Roy's 1S?

So far no one report any shoulder hinges problem on the 1j yet, right?

I am thinking to get a VF-1J soon...

  6. Prices seem to be creeping up here in Hong Kong.

Still not many shops have them yet, but those that do are selling them more expensive daily.

Found both the VF-25F & VF-25S in Toymania (1/F, 188 Oriental Center, Wanchai Road). The store owner, Kit, was selling them as a set for HK$2,400 (approx US$309.68). Toymania is always overprice compared with other stores.

Today, the hobby shop in Cross Lane in Wanchai had the VF-25F Alto for HK$1,080 (approx. US$139.35), but no Ozma. This is the opposite of Yesterday, when they had Ozma, but not Alto.

Haven't been over to check the shops in Causeway Bay or Mong Kok districts yet.

I assume it is because all shipment are come from the 'air'?

Price should settle down once the sea shipment arrive, and more stores have them. Also some toys will get even cheaper once the Chinese New Year sale kick in... B))

  7. Except that would require Bandai doing one thing: Putting time and effort into something that ISN'T the Gundam Cash Cow.

Not that I'm complaining, I love Gundam designs and how much love Bandai gives them, but let's face the truth here; Macross is NEVER going to get as much love from Bandai as Gundam does. Why do you think the DX VF-25s suck so much? The models are decent but they have nothing on your average newer MG kit. It's just left to see just how bad the 1/100s will be (I'm hoping for HCMP-level but I know I will be sorely disappointed).

It might be truth, after all-

Business is business... smaller market = less effort

    :(

However, if recent Macross F toy line sell well enough, there might still 'hope'.

  8. Durability wise it feels very sturdy and very much a "toy", so whilst the Yamato 1/60 toys have a better finish they are more display pieces that have to be handled with greater care. A lot of this is down to the usage of diecast in the joints, so it doesn't feel weak in any way. In terms of stuff breaking, not so sure on that yet. I'm very careful generally with toys and the only slight thing I've noticed is that the cowls on the legs that house the smaller fins sometimes don't quite click into place properly.

You have to swap the hands out for the transformation as far as I can see and the gun holder is purely functional for fighter mode, so it's not housed anywhere in battroid.

Thus far, the more I play with it the more I like it. Once you get used to how the transformation works it begins to click I think. I still haven't really found anything glaringly awful with it either but I'll post more later (hopefully with pictures!). As proof that I have them at least here's a happy photo of me...

    Happy birthday!

u do look very happy with the vf25. :)

  9. Nah, Kinyru survived that attack until got got blowed up in the explosion of some Varauta ship he blew up. Although I guess technically they disbanded the unit after the incident so I'm not sure if anyone survived the encounter.

I like how someone is complaining about the "dull colours" on toysdaily. Does the colour bother anybody else? I'm not a huge stickler for details so not many small things bother me.

I am not the one from the 'toysdaily' who complain about the dull colour. But I do prefer the VFX color theme...
