In a store here in Tokyo I recently came across a bunch of old Macross kites, that looked like they were released around the same time as the original TV series. I didn't get too much of a look at them as I was with somebody who wasn't too interested in the nerd stuff, so I can't say much about them aside that they were plastic kites with VF-1's and Destroids on them.
Couldn't find anything on them on the main MW site or google, although I could have sworn I've seen them mentioned somewhere before. Anyone have any info, or a rough estimate on what they're worth (if anything)?
I really don't think that is what u r talking about... but it is a 'macross' kite.

I actually really really want to order the Proto Garland, but their shipping estimate is around $40, which seems really high to me. What did you actual shipping turn out to be, if you don't mind saying?
Ordered my 2 days ago. Still waiting for the final shipping bill... suppose to be 4000 yen ems shipping, but I have another stuff ship with it, hopefully will pack them together!
And, HLJ just list the Proto as 'backorder' today, i think.
-
Yup, look at HLJ... even the Yamato Protogarlands are showing a dismal performance at 50% off! And it's their least problematic one at that! What're y'all waiting for, the Yen to crash?
Just order the Proto Garland, hopefully will get it in 2 weeks time.
I still think the 'red' Garland looks better though, if only it has no 'design' and 'qc' problem...

Good to see the ver2 MG RGM79, got to get this one!
But where is the Guntank, Bandai???
-
Yes, I might do that too... still not sure about the battroid mode, but the fighter mode loks good enough to me!
just the pilot figure looks a bit rubbish.

1/60 ver.2 VF-1D is coming, offical photo from Yamato.
http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1242
in two months time...

Dollar to yen ratio sucks but what sucks more is that no matter what you pay, the shoulder hinges might still not be fixed.
lol true, man.
That's why I still yet to own 1/60 ver2 VF-1 toy.
-
Thanks for that SAVE!
Yeah i'm the same, but i got Sheryl on the way. Can't have it all!
Yup, it will only make 'your' Sheryl even more special than already is...
-
As am I, but the thing is, with the dollar to yen as bad as it is, I just can't bring myself to make any major purchase from HLJ right now... that sale price will only get better if the dollar picks up.
Anyone think US dollars to Yen is bad...
Check on the Canadian Dollar rate to Yen, it is like paying around 20% more than 12 months ago!
-
And look at the upper movement....Ngee Khiong also states no polycaps either......

Man, Gundam MG kit is getting better and better in recent years.
Shame it also getting more and more expensive...

cool.
All three looks great, I wish I can afford all of them!
At least I have my Klan order though.

Yes but if the parts other than the TV hands had POM, then the 1S and 1D would have had POM listed, so far it is only listed on the 1J, and the 1J is the only one with TV hands so far, therefore, I think the TV hands are made of POM. If the shoulder hinges are, then GREAT that is what I've been hoping for, but if that were the case I wonder why Yamato did not list it for the Hikaru 1S and 1D. This is the very same reason I have been asking fans that own the 1J if they could tell if the shoulder hinges are made from POM or not. If I had one I would inspect it and report back immediately but I will not buy another unless I determine whether or not the issue has been taken care of.
yes, me too.
I want to know that if 1J has the same shoulder hinges material as 1S...

I also just started collecting these Macross figures about a month ago and it is an addiction! I feel sorry for crack addicts. I have been a long time fan and I wish I kept my toys from the 80's but these Yamato figures are becoming a good replacement. I have already spent almost couple thousand on most of these figures but it's woth it.
I bought a few of these from members of MW and I am still ictching for more. Please someone help me with this addiction
Wooow... only started a month ago. Nice collections!
Good luck to your wallet.
I started my macross 'toy' collections just over a year now... my wallet hurts. So many toys come in recent months.

OMG! OMG! Tramampoline!
Walmart has the Force FX lightsabers on clearance at their online store. They have Luke, Anakin, Obi-wan, Darth Vader, Yoda, and Darth Maul all for $50 each. If you do site-to-store the shipping is free, and the standard shipping was only $.97 for me.
Go and get em!
Very nice. If only they sell them in Canada...

It looks nice on its own; but it looks too small when puting aside with my 1/48's.
And it's not cheap either...
Yes, totally... it is small and expensive.
However it looks very nice and details.
I hope Yamato or Bandai will do a bigger scale of it, like 1/3000 or 1/4000.
-
I just want to make a few points here:
Yamato is not a small company, it might not as big as Bandai, it has grown a lot.
Some of their products are certainly over-price. Such as 1/12 Scopedag (around 18000 yen) , 1/60 vf19 without fast pack(around 18,800 yen) and 1/24 Patlabor (28,000 yen). What they are thinking?!
Yes, the more units the products sold, the lower the price can be... on the other hand, the cheaper the product price, the more units can be sold too... (i will have everthing Macross toys they made, if they r much cheaper...)
Anyway, back to the topic - whether Yamato is too greedy?
YES.
They are in it for businness. What do you think?

I would buy a large plastic box and put your lovely yamato box in...

something like that!

Last custom I made was YEARS ago! Finally got some time 4 the Tomahawk... this is an incredibly nice built toy IMO. One of the best by Yamato so far.
The light was really bad so some details are really hard to see.
Only problem is I lost the damn pilot!!!
Wonderful job, well done.

lol are you serious or playing. I meant the ARMS, only difference is the arms for Zero and SDF versions.
The size of a 1/60 Monster would be huge anyway ... Don't mention that Yamato's BIG package box!
BTY, Yamato... isn't it about time to show off the 1/60 Destroid Phalanx toy? (we all know that is going to happen...)
