Can somebody explain how a Valkyrie can fly by using nuclear powered fuel? How a common turbofan engine works: A) Air is sucked in via inlets and compressed. B) The compressed air is mixed with liquid fuel and injected into a combustion chamber. C) The burning gases are then sent to the turbine and drive turbine blades. D) The turbine blades then causes another compressor to compact the hot gases. E) The flaming gas then gets sent out via exhaust nozzles and propels the aircraft. There's also the Helicopter/Propellor methods.

You can blame Ronald Reagan for the retirement of the F-14 Tomcat. Because of Reagan's Defense spending from 1980 to 1988(Star Wars, ICBM "Peacemaker", cruise missiles, Pershing, 600 ship fleet, M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley, B-1B excalibur, B-2A Spirit, ATF program, Ohio class SSBN subs, etc)drove the Russians broke. A single engine attack fighter like the F-16XL isn't as appealing compared to a 2 engined aircraft like the Tornado and the F-15E "Beagle". With 2 engines, the chance of you surviving an attack from this Tunguska is greater:
