  1. Just out of curiosity wanted to play with an idea I haven't seen to this day. A reconnaissance VF-21/22. I got an spare Hasegawa kit and got to building. I like the recons vf's in any variable fighter scheme so thought why not a 22?

I got a bit ambitious so I scratch-built a ventral antenna like the VF-25 and a mock up device for the first Cloaking valk in trials. Also a radar dish made with Bondo and styrene.

My first problem was to figure whether it would need 2 crew members? So i went for this idea, but this would mean I needed to stretch the fuselage a bit for a mock up second pilot spot. I am planning in sculpting one straight in the cut off fuselage but not sure out of what?.

When Milliput dries is way too hard to sculpt, sand or cut. I would need something softer that can be easily sanded. Any suggestions?

My second problem is what the heck will I name it?

Is a reconnaissance valk with a cloaking device that makes it invisible to radar and partial EM spectrums, My first thought was INFILTRATOR..but then again I might be way over my head. Would that name makes sense or is the better options.. What would its denomination be?

  2. Not only that but the final price might be right enough to buy a couple and customize it. Usually some of the "uglyness" can be masked with a good paint scheme.

I'll wait to see the final product to judge...

  3. Yes, they are virtually the same scale.

The eta-2 is the titanium and the N-1 is a hallmark tree display which I think is on the relatively small size side. The scales were pointed out by some members at Starship modeler site.

The A and B wings are fantastic plastics. E wing is the Model Addix one... it will look pretty good with the Fine molds one

  4. One thing that is important to consider is that not just any company holds the rights to make and distribute any given model/toy. Some companies hold the rights until they exhaust their creation making it for other companies hard to compete or bring new item in the market.

Also it has to be considered that new generations which now outlast old generations in economic power might not care about old products from an Anime they might not relate to. So companies do not want to take a risk bringing old models back specially with new tooling and just concentrate in new characters instead...

  5. Now I realize that I won't like the Comanchero posing landed on its wheels. This model is meant to be displayed flying on air ( my personal opinion). What i like most is that as a simple design and little screen time it has on the tv series; your build looks as daunting and menacing as the hellhound.. It will be a treat seeing it with all the missiles add-ons...

  6. Yes there is..and was. Most of the 80's DYRL great models were made in 1/144 scale by Yellow Submarine and some others in 1/72 scale and a few in 1/100

If you go to the main site and look into the models page; you'll find some examples of them which unfortunately are discontinued by now, but can be found every now and then on Evilbay at outrageous 21st century prices...

the only Nousjadeul-Ger from DYRL I know of that was ever made; is from yellow submarine in 1/144 scale...
