Takara Votoms Figure Question

Hi all,

I am looking for details on the following figure:

1/48 scale Takara Votoms figure on BBTS

It says it is 1/48 scale but doesn't say hw tlal the figure is or anything else about it... it's got pictures of sprues for the weapons and some other parts, but shows a fully assembeld figure that looks like arse straight out of the box. I want to know if anyone else has this peice and can tell me any thing about it, quality, detail, assembly and disassembly so I can paint it... anything. I am trying to decide if I should get this as another 1/48 scale figure to go with my growing stash in that scale, or just find a few of the old model kits and save up to buy the Yamato figure to have more fun playing around wtih.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Man those are some lousy pics of it. Some have said the Actic Gear 1/48 Scope Dogs are Takara's answer to Bandai's HCM-Pro line.

The AG Scope Dogs are very tiny though, it seems.

Wow...those pics are actually pretty nice. I can't read Japanese, so I still don't know how tall the toy is. Also, where can I get the armor set? Judging by the pics, it will obviosuly need to be repainted, so I'm still thinking that if I'm going to put alot of effort into it I might as well get the Yamato... and maybe one of these guys if the price is right  Hopefully Yamato comes out with the Artic Gear and the Turbo Gear custom set soon...

And what is that horrible pic in the third link of a ruined looking hip socket? Is that a manufactoring problem or something the poster of the pics managed to screw up?

These figures are quite nice, I have three of them so far. Like HCMP's they come with the figure mostly made up and everything else ready painted on sprues.

They're not as techinically advanced as Bandai's line but they're meant as more of a retro feel toy then any kind of mini high end figure.

These are the ones I have,

The 1/48 Actic Gear toys are pretty amazing for what they cram in at that miniscule size...

- Opening visor and cockpit, removable pilot

- Rotatable scopes, full articulation

- Slide-out 'turn picks' and arm-punch

- 'Down-form' that integrates the various backpacks properly, better than the 20-yo 1/24 toys, etc

Minuses... the individual armor bots are a bit fiddly and the tiny piece of plastic 'wireframe' that has to be cut from the sprues and attached to the right knee is very easy to break, IF you didn't figure out to slide down the lower calves before attempting to do so. Also, no spare posing hands, ie. only closed fists and molded-on-weapon fists.

A couple of pix of my current AG kennel in my office:

the 1/48 AG toys are very good , they re worth 15$ , not 29.99$.

They re great for cutsom. I have the first green, the purple, the brutishdog and the all green with bazooka. They are not as cool as the HCM pro as they re not painted except for the weapon in some case, and a part of the head. Indeed, they should be considered as assembled model kit. With some dark lines, a little dirty effect on them and they re ready for action :)

I ve bought them on HLJ and unfortunatly i dont have preordered/bought the red shoulder, the fly ... :(( they look to have some success...

If u find them too little, i advice you to wait the takara 1/18, which look better than the expansive yamato

PS : if u got some be very careful to the little pipe near the knee, i broke 2 :((, they dont reach the inside of the knee. same for the little part of the chest, it has to be cut properly.
