    Yup, that’s the one! Regardless of whether they did or not, this would be a better way to see the OP clear probably. Think of it as similar to that 20th Anniversary DVD with the video game OPs or the SDFM BD box bonus disc with (some of) the Pachinko footage.

    If anyone remembers the OP animation we mentioned for the recent Crossover Live, it’s getting a physical release (just the OP, not the Live) “Macross Won’t Stop: Special Disc” (tentative title) While the bulk of the Disc will be Minori “Freyja” Suzuki, Nao ” “Reina” Toyama and KENN “Bogue” shooting live on-location segments for Macross Won’t Stop, the Disc will include a collection of recently animated clips from events, such as: -Superdimensional Orchestra OP -Walkure 2nd Live OP -Walkure 3rd Live OP -Macross Crossover Live 2019 OP and more.     1:6 scale. Its been doing the rounds at events such as Kawamori’s The Henkei, the Skytree Blue Moon Showcase and Comiket since 2015 or so.

    In the leadup to tonight’s Ultimate Macross Poll broadcast, results 50-26 have been released for each category. Here’s a quick translation of the mecha results so far. Keep in mind that the same model of mecha has multiple entries for tv/ova/movies. There are also a few entries that were tied.     Just a quick heads up for anyone who is interested. Last night, Kazutaka Miyatake mentioned that an upcoming issue of Model Graphix magazine would feature a special on Studio Nue. It doesn’t appear to be listed for sale anywhere yet but more info will hopefully drop soon.

    It’s been his official policy on the franchise as a whole for 21 years now, meaning that it predates even Zero. And this is only one translated published account. I suspect it dates back even further but people didn’t ask, given that canon is not something the Japanese tend to put as high a value on as the West when it comes to fiction (a trend that dates back to the late 70’s). TLDL: everything is fictional meaning that it can exist within and outside of concepts of canon simultaneously, allowing Kawamori maximum creative freedom. Knowing how he works, I suspect that he came up with this idea to keep himself motivated and creative and may well not have returned to Macross without it In a way it isn’t dissimilar to the stance Cameron has adopted with regards to the next 4 Avatar films that are currently in various stages of planning and production http://www.decultureshock.com/shoji-kawamori-on-what-is-and-what-is-not-canon/
