Another, thinner diameter rod will work as the mounting rod and slips easily into the one to go into the hull.

With CA slathered onto the end going inside and pressed to the inner hull, the cover plate was also glued and then fared in. And now Argonaut has her new stand.

Thank you! I was thinking about using a base as long as the ship itself and using two mounting points, but it's a space ship and it needs to look like it is flying.
