Batou
I don't know about pre-painted (maybe check local hobby shops, esp those that sell trains), but there are injection kits of deck crews and such at HLJ: Crew Sets Support Teams Fuel trucks, tanks, accessories General diorama stuff There's precious little in the way of anything 1/60, and most of the really cool 1/48 stuff is discontinued and hard to get ahold of. Vifam7
thanks for the answer, but i can't find any interesting accessories.. Go to ebay and search for "flight deck crew" and "ground crew" for personnel. For a hangar like accessory, go to HLJ.com and look under "mechanical chain base". Hope this helps. miriya
An email that I wrote to Macrossman and have been forwarding to members here and there.... OK, so the kit I have is the "Hasegawa 1/48 Ground Crew Set A" and is regularly available on ebay auctions as well as most hobby shops/sites. The one that I got, I got pre painted or "built" as they say, on an ebay auction. There are several sellers that regularly sell "built" 1/48 crew including ebay member "falconx58" who sells really high quality figures but not cheap. You could get the hasegawa kit and build it yourself and one member here, winterdyne, has a step by step on how to do it yourself which is HERE. Also there are other Hasegawa 1/48 crew sets that are readily available including set B, carrier set, pilot set, etc. There are a lot of model kits in 1/48 which is great for making dioramas. http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM32557 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM32547 http://www.hlj.com/product/ADL48F03 http://www.hlj.com/product/ADL48F11 http://www.hlj.com/product/HSGX48-12 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM32548 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM89768 http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS09097 http://www.hlj.com/product/TKT75246 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM89767 And as far as where to get paints you can get them from Tamiya US at their site http://www.tamiyausa.com and they also sell all kinds of supplies. I am pretty much new to the model kit hobby coming over from the toy hobby, which I am still very much a collector. Winterdyne and many other members on the site have great step by step tutorials which are very informative. Another one is WM Cheng who has some great stuff HERE . And there are more 1/48 kits: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32502 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32534 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32533 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32530 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32526 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32521 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32514 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32557 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32547 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32512 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32509 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32552 http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=32508 And that is just the beginning. There is a lot of great stuff. If you want to take a shot at putting the models together I would encourage you but being a father myself I know how precious and short time is so you could always commission someone to do it for you. You may be able to get some modelers here on the forum to commission stuff for you and/or you could try to commisssion from an outside source. There is a list HERE on starship modelers site. I hope this helps. ADDITION: also there are items in 1/43 scale that are close and in train language O scale and in architecht language 1/4. Poke around and you will find stuff.
