  1. I'm curious about what action the fleet will take if they found a planet with slightly advanced, but non-hostile alien race like Zola. I mean, Zolans are the first non-hostile alien race we saw on Macross; so what's UN Spacy regualtion about this? Claim it as one of their colony, or let the Zolans live in peace and train them to protect themselves (like, giving them VFs for patrol use)? And why the heck the Zolans have english name like, uh, Graham? Maybe the fleet that founded Zola have some english missionary on board . I'd like to know more of Zola and its marsupial inhabitants.
  2. Hmm, between this and re-released VF-0...which one should I get.....Okay, I'll get both Is that dying scream coming out of my wallet?
  3. Mine got no problems with the wings at all. As for crotch piece that keep falling off, I guess it's common thing. I got problem with the neck, it seems that having too many joints on them making it difficult to attach the helmeted-head. It stayed, but I didn't feel satisfying 'click' when I plug the head. Other than that, I'm very impressed with this figure. If SHFiguarts have similar sculpt and articulation as this guy, I might collect them. I'm a Kamen Rider fan afterall
  4. You're basically right. The Gundam VS series in essence are 2-on-2 fighting games viewed from 3rd person perspective. The most recent Gundam VS Gundam line made it crazier by adding mobile assist (kinda like Striker system in King of Fighters), mid-air equipment change, and many mecha-magic thingy. Realistic/technical, maybe not. Fun, yes. However, there are many gundam game variations out there...including serious mech-simulation genre like Lost War Chronicles or Rise from the Ashes. If you're looking for technical games, try them (they aren't for PSP though). And don't forget Gundam Battle series which provide the engine for MAF/MUF. Melee in that game sucks, so I guess it's not the game you described . We need more Macross games. If only Macross is as prolific as gundam, in number and genre....although I can't imagine Macross turn-based strategy game or Macross 2D fighting game
  5. Get over your hatred for Gundam and try Gundam VS Gundam Next Plus. That thing is a masterpiece for PSP. Fun and challenging even if you're not into Gundam. I play that alternatively with MUF. But if you really allergic with Gundam, can't help you though
  6. I joined this forum waaay back when I was searching for VF-X2 story translation. Post nothing back then. Just weeks ago I want to search more info bout DX chogokin and I suddenly remember this forum. Need to recover new password anyway since it's long forgotten. Gotta agree with you, Christopher, toys are meant to play. I kept some of my toys in their box only because display space limitation. Still, I often take em out and switch places with those on display. Btw, I love the styrofoam package of DX. Not enviromentaly friendly but secure and easy to handle unlike plastic tray. Not to mention it's nostalgic, bring back memories of 80's toys. I hope Bandai continuing this tradition.
  7. Whoa, man, I envy you . How big the package will be when it comes?
  8. I doubt it will just 'only few years'. Yamato just only starting to release mac7 toys after, like, 15 years. It's even possible for Bandai to hold the franchise forever, just like Gundam. Me too, hoping for better-looking Yamato-made -25 since I love it so much, but I won't wait that long. And even if I told to wait just 2-3 years, it's the same. Y'see, that's the whole point of this thread : to decide what VF-25 to get from what options available NOW.
  9. I do not own any Yamato, so your opinion maybe correct about Yamato being superior to Bandai in terms of details and posability. However, we're trying to help someone decided what's the best VF-25 toy for him. Considering that there's only Bandai DX for VF-25, and no Yamato, I recommended it for him. Yes, DX maybe sucks, but it's the biggest & most durable VF-25 out there (mine is durable, if you're isn't, you're just unlucky). I believe that both Yamato 1/60 and Bandai DX are different beasts altogether, and both have their own flaws. As for Gilliam's missile, I need to rewatch that episode but clearly we never see any of 'em under the wings (animation error?), maybe it can, but we never saw one. Michel's special case, though
  10. Wing stores? I believe that from originally VF-25s aren't designed to have underwing ordnance. And how important removable pilot and detailed cockpit would be, considering that this is a toy, with seam lines and screw holes all over? The detail is fine as it is, and if you really want detailed pilot figure, go for Bandai's Alto Ex-Gear My DX VF-25F movie version (that bluish one) is fine. Really. There's some scratch but that's due to my rough handling, and it's not bothering me at all. Think of it as 'battle damage', heh. Also, I wonder why no one mentioned about this, but the DX contains a lot of die-cast. Ankles, upper-thighs, waist joint, shoulder joints, and the whole biceps. It feels that good to touch those parts and feel the cold, heavy metal sensation . I guess that's what made them cost more than Yamato. I won't call a toy piece of trash if I happen to be unlucky to get the bad one. Just take it as bad luck...that costs more than $100.
  11. Ok, after closer look at many reviews I gotta agree it's ugly. I never realized the nose cone protruding so long in battroid mode. Guess I'm distracted by those long legs, heh. If I can find it cheap I'll get -1S just for comparison sake with my old Revo Strike Valk.
  12. Agreed. But what kind of base that stand can connect to? Since it's Bandai maybe Action Base 1 (for MGs) or AB 2 (for HGs) will do? Or better yet, Alto EX-Gear base (since I just bought it)?. Guess I'll posing this guy in Battroid mode all the time...with that evil-looking closed faceplate
  13. Wait, no one commented about alternate "closed" faceplate? This looks nice, I might pick it up if the price is right. And who need landing gears if a display base if provided?
  14. The problem with Revo is that they made for dynamic pose. It needs a good imagination (or references) to make your revos look good on your display. Pose it in 'just stand there' static pose, and you'll get an ugly toy. It's not something that you'll expect to amaze people simply by details or size. I gotta admit that revos are hit or miss for some people. Even I'm somewhat picky about them. The Laevatein is awesome, but newer Arbalest is a pass for me, for example. I'll pick designs that has no other figure incarnations like Laevatein, Dangaioh, or dix-neuf...but then there's so many alternatives for VF-1, transformable or not. I assume you guys already have a lot of valkyrie toy variants in your shelf, so I can understand your decision to pass this one....But I then don't have any transformable VF-1 toys yet .
  15. My point is, all flaws that I mentioned above are all common for a revoltech. I'm fully aware of those flaws, and won't really affect my judgement since I'm kinda used to it. What I don't understand is why people expecting too much from a 2400 Y toys, and disliking it just because it doesn't have as much details and gimmicks as over 10000 Y toys. I'm not that wealthy, but after spending 16000 Y for a dx chogokin, the revos price suddenly become way too cheap, thus I'll forgive the flaws.
  16. I didn't mean GNU, but transformable 1/60 v2 line. I own Fokker's Strike Valkyrie Revo as well, that's why I'll get -1S for this new line so I can compare them. Proportion is a subjective matter, I admit it's not pretty in fighter mode but I can stand that . I consider them as mecha figures anyway, and that Gerwalk and fighter modes are just added bonus . That's why battroid proportion is what I really care about -those long legs starting to grow on me. At least if the durability is the same with other Revo, it might be a good toy to play (to be exact, transforming it back and forth) when I get bored.
  17. I don't understand why there are so much rage about these things. Yes, they aren't anime-accurate (proportion wise), the rounded joints and odd base connector looks weird, and it has a shoddy paintjob. But come on, these are Revoltech we're talking about. If you own any Revo before, those things I mentioned above won't matter. They have great articulation, fun to pose, and most importantly, cheap --> compared to other overpriced transformable macross toys out there. I have nothing to complaint, and I will get Fokker's If I can find one nearby. It's not like you're gonna notice the paintjob flaws when you pose it on your table anyway. I think most people here are: -Spoiled by Yamato VF-1s (and thus making it a standard) -Never own a Revoltech before -Or dislike Revo for some reason -Have too much VF-1 toys (this I can understand) -Expecting too much when it was first announced Or, most likely this : -Forgot that these are Revoltech, forgot that these only cost 2400 Yen, and forgot that Revo never give a damn about accurate proportion anyway. Sorry if I'm being rude for my first post, but I just have to say it.
