Something new from yamato..low vis VF-1S or TV VF-1S?
Can't be Roy TV1S. beside being too gray, it has yellow head arrows and DYRL pilot.
-
I'm just curious, as I haven't been able to dig an answer, jet (if it exists): In Macross 7 we have a VF19 KAI fire Valkyrie and a VF11 MAXL: what does these terms/acronyms stand for?
-
And as an aside: was Myria's 1J in M7 DYRL based?
Pete
If you mean that it sported DYRL hands, no. It was based on the Mirya 1J from the TV series, albeit with slightly different colors. On a side note, in 7, during the famous "revival" episode with destroids and many VF1, the latter apper with TV hands but in the ad about the gathering they appear with DYRL hands.
The DYRL valks do appear in ENCORE (Fleet of the strongest women).

I'd be careful with offering an invitation like that
Right! I guess I got carried away

I guess it belongs to M new... I finally found my old account password, after three years!!! Hahaha! (feel free to insult me)

I've never seen this picture in any Japanese Macross book, so I assume that it is a pure RT work.
The art style has vague similarties to Yoshiyuki Takani, the artist who did the box art for many of the old original Imai and Arii Macross models.

Nope. The image is an original Macross one ('been floating around since 1982), but you are correct: no Macross related book contains it. It probably comes from advertising. Years ago many (now-dead) sites had this image in their galleries.

My opinion. I am enjoying M0 and I think the CG in it is far better than what I thought (in my worst nightmares). BUT, confronted to, say, Macross Plus (which is the highest achievement in hand-made animation ever accomplished by the macross franchise along with DYRL), the 'magic' is just not there. I like to watch animation (in general) and wonder 'wow, they did THAT!" like a child. Marvel, that's the word. Well, I don't get that feeling watching M0 Valks, although I must admit that, for a CG show, it's quite impressive, or better, the best CG animation I've seen so far, even with its many faults.

nexxstrait,
Thanks for posting these!
Also, thanks for not plastering your name all over them like you had something to with the creation.
I wish I had taken part in drawing those beauties!!

Nice job. What did you make Hikaru out of?
I think he made it from that eraser, HELL of a job for carving. did you have a piece of straw hanging out of your mouth while working the buck knife
He he.

If you thought by seeing previous picture that Hikaru was poorly made, well, yes, it is, but I began to do it because I felt annoyed and suddently I found myself adding color to the creature. From a distance it looks good. By the way, here you are the last one, the 'I was made of this' picture of my little pilot. Rubbers are really nice to sculpt!

Very nice... looks good in color.
Too bad it didn't make it into the animation.
Designation adjusted: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat.../vari/vfxs.html
Yeah, It's a pity. Maybe they intended to do more episodes and show it in flashbacks, who knows. The super packs look very similar to the original VF series ones, don't they?
