Even if the VF27 couldn't have been hidden behind the hill. Or maybe it was hidden underground?

Waitaminute? I know atleast Minmay cameos in Macross 7 on several occasions, but Mac F (apart from flashback sequence & Richard Bilrer's locket)? Which Sheryl concert you talked about & which Mac F episode?

There is also Gloval on that concert, but for what we know the Minmay portrayed there could be only a fan dressed like her (I doubt she would use the same clothes of 30 years before!)

That's a lot of awfully good animation to waste on a game. I hope there will be a DVD special release (like the one for the 20th anniversary).

Most interesting to me is the revelation that Basara never actually came back to Macross7. In fact, he is still wandering the galaxy even in 2060. The album was put together through the Galaxy Network, so essentially Fire Bomber are still not exactly "reunited".

As for MII, as a fan of the series I fear they are not going to cover it as much as I'd like (I fear we won't see the transformable Mardook battlesuit, or the VFXX). I do hope to see more character sheets of Sylvie and, of course, color spreads of MII destroids, Metal Siren, VFII JA and VFII SS Fast pack

Battroid hands down. But if it wasn't for Mikimoto's character designs, It wouldn't have been the same.

It's not easy to find any background information on the styles and artists that have influenced the character designers that have worked on Macross.

By the way, I voted Mikimoto because I always loved his art, but I think Ebata is very talented. It's just that in MF her work has been a bit undertoned by the animated. Besides, you should have started this thread a dozen of years from now, when Ebata will have done more works and had the chance to show her talent. It's not fair to compare them now.

How do you figure? Macross 7 had over 50 episodes, a movie, and a sequel OAV not to mention massive amounts of merchandise. That's a lot more than Macross Plus.

That's a lot more than any other Macross series, original and F included.

Unfortunately, no. It's an A page. VF171 gets the VF22 Gamlin (Dynamite) treatment.

It's pretty in plane mode, but that is a mess for a battroid. The design shouts Transformers. And what's with the nose cone and the fridge behind it?

Yeah, It's a real mess in battroid. That's what happens when you design a non-transformable VF and, at a later date, you decide that "heck, it MUST transform! What was I thinking?"

IIRC, it was from the DYRL? game. It appeared for about a second...Just like the Armored VF-1J. It was there to tease people.

I can't believe how how little attaention Macross II's soundtrack gets. It's way way waaaaaay underrated, and is better than even some of Yoko Kanno's sountracks.

I like MII songs much more than Minmei and Shery+Ranka ones, and I also think that II has a great soundtrack. It can't beat Kanno's instrumentals or Fire Bomber's songs, though.

Man, have you ever listened to her other works? Cowboy Bebop's soundtracks are masterpieces. Escaflowne is also really good.

But you are somehow right if you refer only to her Macross sountracks. After having listened to Macross Plus, Frontier feels only like a side project (sadly).
