  1. Like this one?

Maybe a poll should be added to this thread. Are you a Battletech fan and are you going to buy the Tomahawk because it?

If it is as detailed as the adds for it look I think I will leave it stock. Although a black and weathered Warhammer would be cool. Does anyone remember where the Black Widow symbol went on the mech?

  2. Head's up guys, the Flexi Displays are back, with upgrades, according to the Lost&Found Toys website. They're up now for preorder.

Already put my preorder in for a set of the 2.5, 4 & 6. Doesn't ship until October 31st through. Oh and awesome paint job by the way. Please post more pics.

  3. there are a lot of good stores. here are two for example but there are lots more.

    hobbylink japan

    http://www.hlj.com

    overdrive

    http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/

i think both the tomohawk and vf-1s strike from overdrive might be cheaper than tisinc but you might want to check shipping and everything.

Thanks! Checked both sites and the differences in shipping to me make them about the same. The Tomahawk works out about the same (from Tisinc to the others) as shipping to Saskatchewan is about $30-40 for both the sites that you mentioned. I will try them though as my last order with Tisinc did not work out so well.

  4. You can still find the Griffin (Roundfacer), Shadow Hawk (Dougram), Thunderbolt (Ironfoot), and Goliath (Crabgunner) 1/48 Fang of the Sun: Dougram kits all over the place. A 1/72 Marauder (Glaug) is a little more difficult to find but is still out there. They all match up beautifully with their 1/60th BattleTech counterparts.

there are 1/60 Mad Cat, Vulture, and Atlas resin kits out there (Armorcast) plus a newer and larger 28mm Elemental to go with them. The license has not (yet) been transferred to the new Armorcast owners as far as I know but the kits can still be found.

Don't tempt me sir! ^_^ Seriously i did not know that, just ignorant of me I guess figuring that all went the way of the dodo when FASA pretty much died. I will think about looking into but I think my modeling days are behind me. I have a 1/60 Leopard II tank that I trying to turn to Canadian specs for like 2 years now. Just don't have the initiative to do it anymore I guess.

  5. hehe too bad there's no mad cat and daishi equivalet :) i'd pick those up in a jiffy :)

I still kick myself today that I didn't by those large 1/60 models when I was a kid but I hadn't discovered the potential of purchasing things on the internet back then. Man when I think of all the time I spent buying and painting battletech figs. :) ............and then when I went away to school my mum dumped them into a pail like a bunch of GIJoes. :o

Anyway back on topic I am so buying the Warhammer sorry I mean Tommahawk as soon as I recover from my YF-19 purchase! Well maybe after I purchase that 1/60 VF-1S that just came out. Oh God and I thought my addiction to purchasing books on Amazon was expensive!

  6. I can't believe I'm going to type this, but here we go.

[geek mode]It's VF-0S not YF-0S The 'Y' designation was only used for the YF-19 and YF-21 because they were prototypes. The 'V' in F stand for 'Variable'[/geek mode]

Sorry wrote this at 4 in the morning. Can't believe I did that!

  7. Aye, and what we need next are Rifleman(s), Marauders and Wasps... waitamin, don't we already have wasps? :p

This is where Battletech got their original images. I think this ir really cool for both the Macross fans out there and the battletech fans.

    wasp

I think Hurin's sarcasm maybe undetectable due to his lack of funny bone.

As soon as I saw the Warhammer aka Tommahawk all I could think was I HAVE TO HAVE THAT. Now all i need is an 1/60 Archer, Griphen, Shadow Hawk, Marauder, Wasp, Rifleman, & Pheonix Hawk (oh right I have this one too!) and I could play battle tech in the backyard. This also made me pull out my much warn and much loved 3050 and 3055 Tech manuals (before Harmnoy Gold made FASA butcher them). Ah PPCs, LRMs, SRMs, Med Laser, AutoCannon, Gauss Rifles, XL Engines, Endo Skeleton, Ferro Fibrous armor..............

Whoa I just flashed back to when I was 14!

  8. That would be awesome if they did bring out a YF-0D I thought it looked the best out of all the Zero Valks.

I purchased a YF-0S in February from Tisinc99.com and no problems with the order or the toy, although I don't transform it too much. Usually have it on display on a stand in my office.

I just purchased a YF-19 and stand from Tisinc99.com and all I received was the stand. I phoned him back and he immediately sent out the YF-19. So I had one good experience with him (ordering through amazon market place) and one bad (ordering direct). I will give him credit that once I did get a hold of him on the phone they apologized and said they would send it the next day. Hope to get it this week. Will post back once I get it hopefully.

Note that the first time I phoned him it was not during business hours and I got a weird answering service (which immediately made me think I was screwed). But I got a hold of him fine during business hours (Calf.) so maybe it was just a bad answering system. Also I had sent him an email before and they said that they had sent one back to me but I never received it. I did receive to confirmation emails after he sent the toy again (hopefully minus the stand I did receive).

  9. Hi:

Kind of new to the thread but I have been reading it for a while.

I finally broke down last year and started buying the 1/48 to 1/72 toys.

    So far I have:

YF-0S that I bought off of amazon.com (for about $150 Can plus shipping)

YF-19 and display stand that I bought from tisinc99 (for about $210 Can plus shipping)

Does anyone recommend any other internet sites that I could use or where there are usually good sales? I live in Saskatchewan Canada so my options are usually limited (aka internet only for my anime, manga and scifi novel hobby). I really want to pre order the new MBR-04-Mk.VI Destroid Tomahawk ($113US on tisinc99) and VF-1S Super Valkyrie 1/60 ($149.99 on tisinc99). Just want to know what are the good and trustworthy places to go. Also trying to find a deal if I can.

Also does anyone know of any sites selling and presales on the Macross Frontier toys?

    Thanks.
