I'm a member of "the never had them as a kid and was jealous of the people who did" camp as well. But I don't think that it is the reason why we buy the same damn valk with a different head and colors. I think it is the child at heart. We collect all the different valks because we have to have the characters' VFs. We want them because we want to replay the scenes we saw in Robotech/Macross/DRYL. That is the point. Having just one and pretending it to be someone else just doesn't work. Especially now when we are adults making money and we can actually make purchases on impulse rather than begging to mom and dad for getting it for us.

You should ask you wife why should she collect the barbies (if she does). It is the same damn chick with different colors and hair scheme. Even better with the different clothes. I have five of them (Not to brag here ) and I had only one missing the catapult tow thing on the front landing gear and missing the little ring as well. I also found out the strap broke where the missing ring is suppose to be! I was surely pissed. I just won an auction on ebay with the complete set gunpod and strap. I just want the strap which mean some can get the broken strap for parts. I am also getting those catapult tow things as well. I may have an extra once I replace the low vis and Roy.

The 1/48 Yamato Super VF-1J. Why? It costs the most. Saves a nice hunk of change so you can get the rest of the stuff on the list. BTW, I would skip the MPCs from HG. I have them all but I am selling my extras and refuse to buy anymore. The 1/48s stole my heart . Just my opinion.

I've heard that the unrated CA Full Throttle is just a few secs longer of Drew Barrymore getting beat up...dissapointing.

From the macross.anime.net, I see the glossary of the following terms:

UNN United Nations Navy

UNS United Nations Spacy

UNSAF United Nations Space Air Force

UNSM United Nations Space Marines

Now I am confused. Why do you need an air force if the Spacy is your air force. Also I thought Spacy was the Space Navy, so why the Navy? Am I to assume the UNAF and UNN are for earth atmospheric force so-to-speak? And Spacy is devoted for space naval forces?

Most 2 favorite aircraft? Man, that is hard. I have a huge freaking list. Well, I need to narrow it down.

F-14 TOMCAT -That is the absolutely my most fav fighter. It was designed as the fleet defender and it has offensive capabilities nicknaming it the "Bombcat" as well. The Phoenix missiles can shoot anything down in 100 miles. I believe that the valks are based on it. So I hope.

Now I have to figure to which other aircraft...

• a. A-10 Warthog - if you need a tank division destroyed absolutely overnight, this is the baby to do it with. B)
  b. F-117 Nighthawk - if you to need sneak in to destroy the AA defense at night so you can use the A-10 to destroy the tank division, this bad boy does the job.
  c. B-2 Spirit - need to lob a nuke or the MOAB and you want to make sure they never know or see it coming, this is the one!
  d. F-22 Raptor - gotta protect the A-10s, F-117s and Spirits from enemy fighters.
  e. AV-8B Harrier II - If you are in the Royal Navy or USMC, this sucker is your best friend when you go on the amphibious assault.
  f. AH-64D Longbow - you want to ambush em, this be it.
  g. F-4U Corsair - Greatest all around fighter and CAS during the Pacific Campaign in WW2.
  h. B-17 - Bombed the crap outta the Nazis and their manufacturing capabilites.
  i. Spitfire - finest brit fighter in WW2. It was essential in the defense of Battle of Britain.

It's a pair of Canadian CF-18 Hornets...as far as I now Canada has yet to purchase any of the E/F variant (aka the Super Hornet).

As I said, for people who prefer fast paced anime, with more combat than plot, stay away. This is slow, at times painfully so, but still a worthwhile watch if your willing to stick through it. Granted I have yet to see the end, mostly cause I got distracted by the real world. It is not a mech anime. Its an anime that has mecha in it, and they are part of the plot, but not to the point where they feel the need to fanservice all the time. (incase you have not guessed I hate fanservice too much fan service make this gobot's circuit's sizzle )

Well, my friend could say the same about Macross. He said it was boring but I think he is talking about Robotech show not the actual Macross TV.

Gasaraki is a mature, slow paced story. It has non of the classic silly features that most anime posses. This is why I like it. Think if they made the Patlabor series in the style of the Patlabor movies. Plot based, does not feel the need to fanservice (most of the time that is). Its also pretty dark. Its not a mecha series in the traditional sense. It stays away from pointless fights, and emphasies on story telling through dialog. It certainly is not for everyone. BTW off of amazon I got the whole set for 40 bucks. It is not a boot, its the real deal. It wasn't very popular for obvious reasons, so check the used section of amazon.

If you can rent it first then do so. The pacing is kinda slow but it has the most awesome mecha designs. How much is the box set? I think it's an aweful lot to be spending on something you never seen and don't know what to expect?
