  1. You can use a forwarding agent like Tenso to buy from there. I bought my vf-171 from there and if you ship two of them, the cost to Australia which should be the same as US is 4,700 Yen with 980 Tenso fee.
  2. Falling in price at Amazon JP as well. You can get it for 12,300 Yen now at Amazon JP, next available seller not far behind with 12,540 Yen.
  3. I am going to pass on this. Not interested in the scheme and the price. I supported Yamato a lot in the pass with the 1/48 and even bought the 1/60 v2 on preorders, and multiple of the same item in both scales only to get hit with huge discounts later on and reissues with optional parts. Will only be looking if they release other things other than the VF-1 line and will also wait for it to be released and not preorder it unless it was limited like the VF-4G.
  4. Just curious whether there is any difference given the price difference from Yamato. Yamato VF-1 RRP was 9,800 Yen, this appear to retail at 15,800 (with 5% tax = 16,590). Huge price increase. Perhaps this is the price Arcadia need to charge to be profitable.
  5. Ouch that's quite pricy. Wonder whether there's any difference to Yamato 1/60. At that price I rather spend on Bandai if you can get them at RRP.
  6. Adding high amount on the cart only work sometimes. It appears to work mainly for preorders while for in stock items I found you need to add a number that lets you add to your cart, and from the cart, you keep clicking on the + icon until it gives you an error message to tell you you reach the maximum stock they have.
  7. Would like to see how the Alto goes as if you are able to get it at a decent price on release, then you must as well wait for the Ozma to be released if bandai reissue it and if you cannot secure one near RRP on preorder, especially if NY decides to bump up the price by 50% again like the Alto.
  8. If it doesn't sell, it will fall again. NY doesn't want to sit on too many stock. If you look at the YF-29 30th anniversary, they drop it from 21,500 to 19,500. After they sold quite a few, they brought the price back to 20,000, and when they sold all but 1 or 2 pieces, the price is back up now at 21,500.
  9. Would be interesting to see how the other releases go. There's a chance the RVF-25 will also follow how the VF-171 went in terms of price drop from the premium prices put up. The VF-171 is still readily available in places like Amazon JP. A lot of us won't be happy if we see the VF-25F selling below the 21,000 yen price being charged by NY. Just have to wait and see.
  10. I had to partially transform to check mine. These are the items that I check. Black triangle pieces not broken. Tyres all present on all landing gears. The plastic pieces that folds out on the shoulders are present, the plastic pieces that folds out in the chest (I actually had one piece fly off when I remove the legs), and the plastic piece under the cockpit. To check the plastic piece under the cockpit, I had to transform the legs, free the arms so that I can remove the back plate piece so that the chest area can be seperated from the cockpit area to enable to rotate the cockpit up. It's not a lot to do and easily put back to fighter mode after. Once you know how to transform properly, it's actually not that hard to transform it.
  11. They did price hike the Alto by 50%. Retail 14k yen, price increased to 21k yen. For the VF-27, the price increase from retail is about 19% which is not bad comparing to the Alto price hike.
  12. Mine broke first time transforming it. Glued it back and it's fine now. I think it's due to the tightness of the joint and also the pin is not a solid pin and has a gap in between which can catch the plastic and cause it to break when rotating. After I glued mine back, I made the hole bigger to make sure it can rotate with ease.
  13. That seems quick. Did you use SAL as well? Have you tried transforming it to battroid and back. It could be not transform properly out of the box.
  14. My pin is not missing, but out of the box the wing wouldn't sit flush like yours. After transforming it and then transforming it back, the wing sit flush now. So I think it's got to do more with the positioning of the arms back into fighter mode. Just transform it a second time and battroid mode was easier this time and got everything to lock in place without much problem. However back to fighter mode, I had difficulty getting the black piece with the writing NUNS on one side to fit into position perfectly. It fits but has more gap compared to the other side. Will try transforming it again and see whether I can get it to fit nicely.
  15. The areas I found difficult to transform is to get the back plate lock at the lower torso to stay while trying to lock the back with wings with the two holes, and getting the arms in the correct position back to fighter. Other than that, it's not too bad once you figure everything out. Got mine back to fighter and may stay that way for a while and my broken part seems to be holding after using super glue.
  16. I find it difficult to get the chest lock and the back plate lock at the same time. Took me many times as whenever I lock the back plate, the chest lock will unlock. I finally sort of manage to get it done, but feel that the chest lock will come unlock easily.
  17. Btw, Japan has new requirements and the first package sent to you by Tenso will need to be at your residential address when you provide proof of your residential address. Once they have sent a package to that address and finish their proof of identity process, you can then send to any address. This new requirement started from 1 April this year.
  18. I am happy with their service. The day they receive it, I will receive notification that they have received it later in the evening on the same day. And so far when I request shipping on that day, my items are sent out the following day. Packaging is based on what the Japanese merchant sent. For the two VF-171 I got, it was placed in an Amazon box that fits both perfectly but no bubble wrap. Tenso will open the box to inspect the content. If the items are wrapped they will remove the wrapping but will not wrap it back. If you use their consolidation service, they will repack and use those air pocket spacer to fill the gaps but do not bubble wrap the items. Probably lasted a while as well due to the VF-171 being out for a couple of weeks now and most people would have picked one up already and it was probably sold to people considering picking up another.
  19. It will depend on your credit card provider. In Australia, most CC will use the exchange rate close to the mid rate, however, the provider may charge you a foreign transaction fee which varies and most of them being around 3.5% I believe. Paypal exchange rate will be reflective of these transaction fee. However, with Paypal I noticed that sometimes I pay in Yen, but the transaction is said to have taken place in Australia, so I get a good rate but without the foreign transaction fee. Those who got confirmation from Amiami, can you let me know how much the shipping cost is. To the US is the same as Australia and would like to know before considering putting an order in. Thanks.
  20. grymg, what shipping method did you choose for that price. Just thinking whether to order another. Thanks.
  21. CF normally do not sell well. If you look at Yamato when the 1/48 first came out, the VF-1S Roy was very popular that it received numerous reissues. When the VF-1A CF was announced it was said to be limited, probably to help the sales. Not sure whether it is but it was not sold out immediately and no reissues were done. This is probably the same for the frontier valks with Alto and Ozma VF-25 selling well, while the CF not so. It might impact a release of a VF-25 CF but given how Alto been reissued, we will probably see Ozma reissued as well. So far we have frontier items coming out every month up to August. 4 months left in the year. We might see Ozma reissued as well as VF-25G and RVF-25 super parts, and maybe Tornado parts.
  22. Thanks. Will have a look when I get back home tonight. Quite fiddly to transform the first time. The joints are tight and sometimes you don't know whether you need to use force or not and afraid to break it. I actually broke a small part on it which doesn't affect the appearance luckily. It's the black piece near the intake in fighter mode that folds inwards. Currently being super glued at the moment and hope it holds.
  23. Finally transformed one of mine and it's the first VF-171 that I have transformed. Not sure whether I am doing it right and probably someone mentioned it back in the post. In battroid mode, does the body lock at all. The only lock seems to be the backpack. Mine seems to collapse quite easily in the middle as there appears to be no lock at all. Just wanted to make sure I am not missing anything. Thanks. Also, stock appears to be moving a bit as if you look at Amazon JP, the lower prices ones are gone. I managed to pick up another two shipped by EMS for 32,275 Yen or 16,138 each shipped which appears to be a good price.
