I would imagine the 19 and its upgraded derivatives coupled with the VF-171 would parallel the Hi-Low mix of fighters of the F-22 and F-35 in the real world. A small number of Excaliburs would establish space superiority for the flexible 171s that could act as missile boats, recon etc.
Well, at least in my mind it seems rather fun to picture them working together.
And of course, the VF-22S++ would be the specfor mainstays but I'm OT.

Yeah you'll find that most fandoms in any mythos have camps that jeer each other in good fun(mostly) but I've learnt not to take them seriously anyway.
Oh yes...HA Jazz, Breacher, Terradive and Tomahawk are all in my wanted list for this year.

A crazed mass of metal tentacles, obviously.

Battle Ops Bee
Very nice collection, I still like HA Bee best. It's not the most accurate but it's very pleasing to the eye, comparatively.

Just watched it. 2.22 just took a veritably dysfunctional show and sculpted it into a masterpiece where everything clicks. For the first time in many years of Evangelion I was actually cheering for Shinji. I gotta admit where the old material(imo) was part awesome and part disgusting, 2.22 is 100% fun.
Love the music, reminds me of FLCL.

I know I might as well ask for a unicorn, but I really want truly perfect-transformation in future releases, and maybe even a special remake for the VF-1 and -19 with PT. All these extra parts for landing gear and head lasers and gun pod handles. It's 2010, why do we have to decide between PT and looks? The old 1/100 VF-1 wasn't as pretty, but it was PT. The new one is better looking but not PT. That's not progress, that's a trade-off.
I can handle a clip-on heat shield, but beyond that, if the next release has clip-on landing gear and gun pod handles and all that, I'll stick with Yamato.
I agree for the most part but beggars can't be choosers. I'll be another that will be all over the obscure valks if they get released in the Hi-Metal line.

Just noticed something else.
In fighter mode, when viewed side on, the gunpod is not parallel to the bottom of the fighter. The muzzle is angled up, so the muzzle is nearly pointing at the plane's nose.
Looks weird.
Graham
It does look off, reminds me of my VF100 VF-25S, except the muzzle points away from the fighter and towards the ground.

Awesome work, could almost hear the jet engines winding up . Thanks.

I'll choose this one over the Hi-Metal any day.
That's just personal preference of course.
Seconded. Size is about right for a display piece and a toy to zoom around.

Thanks for the additional pictures, my personal fav is the one with the 1/2000 USS Enterprise. Really shows off the grandeur of the scale.
-
(snip)...compared that to US$150+ for a 1/60 Yamato.
Where did you find such an expensive non-F/SP VF-1J?
Nice pics guys, personally wishing that this will do very well so we'll have a chance at other valks.

Love the detail and the panels. Very nice indeed.

I think you can transform without swapping the canopy... (at office now! can't really check)
But no, you can't keep the gun hand in. The gun-holding hand is molded with the gun hilt, so it won't fit.
That means you'll need to keep at least two parts in hand for transformation unless you couldn't care less about the gun. I tend to either lost these sort of parts or stash them somewhere and wouldn't bother with them.

I particularly like the way the mini-guns are placed directly behind the propellers...
The guns are usually synced with the props in real warbirds, nothing too unusual about that.
I like how Terradive's "B mode" has a mini heatshield. Shame the jet exhaust gets transformed to facing up. Definitely getting Tomahawk and Terradive and giving them pseudo-macrossverse prototype valk designation in my head, like what i did with ROTF Thrust.
Highbrow ain't doing it for me either.

Looks pretty dynamic in Battroid mode. Is it floppy though, or will all the joints hold especially when you invert it.
-
Some pics of Mr. Gamlin!! (playing around with my new camera) Luvv it!!
btw....can anybody tell me what episode or where I can see this piece of Valk awesomeness in action?????? Tried searching YouTube but no luck....
It's in the Mac7 Dynamite OVA.

HLJ is holding yet another Paypal shipping sale - 70% off any shipping between 10am JST 22nd and 6pm JST 24th June. Doesn't mention any caveats about limited stock like the previous one. Could be a good opportunity if you missed the last.

Good looking bird there. Really gives a fresh perspective on the ol' nineteen.
-
Nice interpretation. I love what you did with the winglets but the canard looks weird, like two boomerangs. The tail markings are awesome!
-
Amazing detail, absolutely loved your how-to pics. This made my day and then some.
-
Passing on this as well, just waiting for the YF-21/22, VF-2SS or the VF-171. Not holding my breath though.

If not mistaken, once you ticked the PayPal as your preferred payment mode, you still need to tick another one for Paypal billing agreement parked right under Paypal which may seem not noticeable easily.
Yup but that only needs to be done once, IIRC. I have the paypal billing agreement set to default so now I don't need to do anything in regards to payment at the order page.

Whatever that is it is a wicked sweet bird! I want a transforming figure of that for sure!
Ditto, would love to have a single engine valk. Could be a light fighter counterpart to the VF-19 In fact I bought an ROTF deluxe Thrust figure to customize for this purpose.

Boyarque - Yep I bought my 22S from them, great and fast service. Grats on your new valk!
Chronocidal - That's horrible, hopefully they will agree to give you free shipping or rescind the order.
To sticker or not to sticker...

I used the Wolfpack stickers on my 0A and it turned out a dream. Had to do a lot of trimming on every sticker to make it work though.
