  1. Swoosh,

Thanks for taking the time to post the wing fix. I'm bummed that we need a wing fix, but not post-19-1188447102.gif angry, just a little: post-19-1188447132.gif

That was dogjumpjump's pic, I just put them in English, he fixed it the same night after he bought it ^_^ , pretty efficient!!

  2. Anyone want to try and translate the steps on the "how-to-fix" chinese version into english 21.gif

Let me try to translate it, he did it by removing the pin (Sounds dangerous...), you will see there 2 bars (male joint?) on the hinge.

When you turn it over, you can see the left hinge should be symmetric to the right hinge (workers used 2 left right side hinge on both wings)

Turn it over and you will find one of the "male thing" on the hinge is longer than the other, so file/trim the "male" thing a bit to make it the same length to the left hinge.

Put it back... and it is done

Hope this explains, or please help to rephase it in better english....

Removing the pin is not easy, so I might just live with this....

P.S. I am asking for permission to put his pic here... ^_^

  3. Hate to post bad news, but according to one user in toysdaily, his SV-51 had three problems.

1st problem: Both wings have right hinge joint thus making it unable to bend fully

2nd problem: Body locking mechanism is loose

3rd problem: If one plays with the hip joint too much, it will result in a loose leg

Sorry if my interpretation is bad cos my chinese aint that good. Maybe swoosh can help translate.

In my opinion, the problems listed are minor except for the two right hinge joint on the wings, which is probably a result of the assembly worker sleeping on the job

Just checked mine, I agree the 1st one is a real issue  (I had never tried to bend it fully), the other two just can happens to any toys, the body locking mechanism is better then YF-19.

  4. Thanks Graham, actually, I am not sure if I have transformed it correctly :p I hate dealing with those tape on the instruction's packing so I leave it untouched.

Now we need to wait for some custome made decal/stickers set.

  5. Lots of question....

Oh my, I think I am not the only one who had multiple orgasms looking at swoosh's photos!

Thank you Swoosh for the awesome photos! Your photos are always so sexy! When you posted the photos for the VF-0A Shin W booster, I was not planning on getting it, but after seeing your shots, I bought it the next day!

This is really a beautiful Valkyrie! Unfortunately I do not have the funds to get this today but I am so totally getting an SV-51 as soon as I can.

Thanks again Swoosh and Graham of course too!

I also bought Shin after seeing pic from members of this forum...

Can you attach the gun on the side of the leg in battroid mode like Ivanov did in the show ?

For those who pre-ordered from toy-wave i got an email from there saying they will ship the SV-51 early next week. B))

Yes, I can, may be tonight, any screen shot for reference?

WOW!!!! Thanks Swoosh!!! I really can't wait to get this thing. I keep checking my email to see if HLJ has shipped yet!! I too really hope they make my scheme, that would be too cool!! I told my wife about that slight possibility and she thought that was awesome...so I guess she wouldn't mind me shelling out the doe for one then! :D

    Chris

I want your scheme too, so pleasing to look at it.

awesome awesome awesome. love the pics with it next to the vf-0a and yf-19. bring it on.

if it's not too much trouble could you post a pic of the sv-51 next to a vf-1 in battroid mode? thanks.

    Sure, but 1/48 only, I don't know where my 1/60 VF-1 gose...

How is the gripping of the gunpod? Does it holds it tight or the gunpod tends to fall off like with most VF skeleton type hands?

Yep. Unfortunately those of who live in the states have to pay a much higher premium than those in other countries. At least will hopefully be getting a bird thats completely worth hard earned dollars.

-Are the hands a lot more solid than the 1/48's? Can it grip the gunpod well?

It dose holds tight IIRC, only one transformation cycle was done so far...

Thanks everyone for liking my pic, worth the extra money I spent just for having it asap.:lol:

  6. Almost forgot to take some pics of the best feature that comes with the Yamato SV-51...

I think that's the best way to add all weapon without giving too much stress to the wings, and most important.... it save space!!

It is 1a.m. now, so Good Night!!

  7. Just got mine, fiddle around with it also just now, seems like no QC problems/issues so far (Very good sign). Too tired and exhausted to do a full transformation after a long day's of work. Will wait for graham's video demo as a guide before i transform mine fully.

Swoosh, you are very brave man in transforming it w/o looking at manuals. So far all is good except for the boosters and missiles seems abit too heavy for mounting on the wings, other than that, its a beauty to behold! Seems like yamato have done a through R&D on the SV-51, thus minimising the occurence of problems.

yups dnd, cant imagine what they are paying for the SV-51 in Hongkong ^_^ I think its slightly lower than what we pay locally here, which is about USD$150

Hi Recon, can the missile (black ones) on yours attach properly on the wings?

  8. haha thanks. :D

now that i know it can stand upright, can it strike a pose?

can the head be extended up in fighter mode?

and most importantly, how much did it cost you?

I paid more than I expected, but just like Graham said, I can't wait anymore...

I live in HK, so you guys may not want to know how much I get it :D

  9. Can show us the size comparison with VF0? I would love to see both birds side by side... Man, can't wait to hold this baby in my hands.

one other question for anyone who's TF it into battroid...

can it stand on its own?

Haha, the last batch of pics anwsered your question ^_^

  10. Thanks for the great pics! I cannot wait to get my hands on one, but i know it'll be a ways off, but your shots really help!

Are the wings sagging with the boosters bc/ you've got the wings straight? In the anime, it looks like the wings are bent with the boosters equipped.

I will try it after I can figured out how to fix those missle pod properly.... they just keep coming off.... <_<

  11. Lots of Tampo printing. Tails, both wings, heatshield, head.

Only a few quick fighter mode pics for now as my lighting here is terrible. Swoosh's pics are far better than mine.

Haven't transformed it yet. This is the first Yamato Valk in ages that I don't know how to transform before the release date. Need to actually study the manual.

Box is reasonable size for what you get. Two trays, one with SV and weapons, other with display stand.

SV is a work of art. No idea about durability yet tho.

    Graham

I don't how to transform it too... haha.

One thing to complain is that missle pod (the 4 black one) cannot attached to the wings very well, pretty easy to pop off.... and canopy is not as clear as recent release.

    more pic in fighter mode:
