I think you hit the nail on all 3 points, especially the last one it's not just anime in general, Japanese stories tend not to spoon feed things to their followers like American stories do, this recently came to light in a novel I read about Dracula in Meiji Era Japan, and there's still about 3 different ways that could have ended. Yes Robotech especially since it has three different versions of the fates of the characters (Macek's original plan, the McKinney novels and the Shadow Chronicles), does make the idea of worrying about their fates a big deal and I'm sure that carries over me and for others. And yeah, you're right if we just knew they went off in a ship and lived "happily ever after" it wouldn't be a big deal, like I don't need to know if Max and Millia eventually moved back in with each other and Mylene died an old maid because she kept waiting for Basara to get back while Gamlin killed himself cause he couldn't win Mylene over (I'm just being silly), It's fun to think about but not a big deal... where as Minmay's fate is... might be because i don't know if she lived horribly ever after or just died a horrible painful death.

So my Joe collection is pretty small still, but it's growing and I moved them from the two book shelves they were occupying to the top of my dresser (note does not account for my whole collection because duplicate named figures are gonna be stored elsewhere). The two exceptions to the named figure rule is I have two Storm Shadows (one Cobra and one Joe... PARADOX) and two Dukes (cause I just used Duke Vs Redstar Duke as a green shirt officer). Honestly, if it happened and they also released an uncut Sub version on the DVD I would not mind a dub with a few dialog changes to fit it in with Robotech saying that it's an REF fleet and so on, talking about protoculture in the robotech sense. At least that way Macross Frontier could be released without the problem of the HG Macross trademark. I'd watch it with a robotech dub, as well as with an original sub. That said... this is fake.

Anyway sorry for the double post, but I just got intel on another place in edmonton that apparantly has a huge stock of American GI Joes at a reasonable price, won't supplant All Star (my friend's shop) for getting the new stuff... but for the older waves and troop building I'm going to check it out.

Well, again the only place I can get US carded Joes is either at my friend's store or at West Edmonton Mall... at WEM US carded joes go for between 5 bucks (if the figure is Serpentor and your at Comic King) to 25.00 for some of them at collector's edge (where I also saw the vehicles). So yeah collector's edge jacks up the price, and unless I'm specifically looking for something from an older wave and I can't even find it on Ebay I don't go to them. At my friend's store I can get the US carded joes for 10.99, and he's only charging his standard normal mark up (but then a small time store could never match walmart and target for pricing anyway, and walmart has the canadian joes of course), that's fine cause once you factor in shipping that's better then asking for someone from Hisstank to send them to me and more reliable since he orders two whole boxes of each wave just for me, and gives me a discount on the price I mentioned. So yeah, I'm going to see if he can't get me the vehicle packs for less.

Heh, I'm seeing the vehicle 2 packs going for 39.99 at West Edmonton Mall, need to check with my other source to see what he can get them for.
