  1. For one, the stock Sv-252Ba doesn't have the laser machine guns built into the nose/monitor turret.

    Did you mean Sv-262 then?

    Unless you meant this:

Windermere must be getting pretty desperate. Though it would help with all the snow.

D'you remember who was firing? If it was the forearm guns of the Draken III, those were 27mm railgun rounds.

I'm not sure who exactly was doing the shooting, only that the bolts were red. Also, it looks like Chuck didn't take any hits, but Arad took a few without consequence.

  2. Conformable missile packs.

I think the correct term is "conformal" but maybe both work. Just an aside.

So, what kind of engines does the Tornado Pack have? It has four of them, right?

Also, did you guys notice Arad and Chuck taking hits in the last episode? I don't know what caliber or type those guns were, but the -31s just shrugged them off. I can make a GIF if you don't know what I'm on about.

  3. Yeah, but he had to stay in GERWALK mode or ditch one because he didn't have anywhere to put two.

Actually, Alto was able to carry both gunpods in fighter. The sniper rifle was just sort of stuck on there.

I actually came here to ask a question: given the Tornado Pack and the advent the Sv-262's drones, do you guys think the trend toward multiple engines that can be rotated around is going to stick? Also, can the YF-29 do that? I can't remember but I don't think it can.

Full disclosure, this was mostly an excuse to post this analysis GIF of the Tornado Pack that I made while keeping the topic on Delta.

  4. With respect to the valks appearing without an EX Suit. Hellooo, fingernail computers....McFly, Helloooo..*knock, *knock

I suppose if Walkure can control the multidrones with gestures of their arms and hands (and likely a mental component), then maybe the pilots can also do likewise with their fighters.

Given the already established tech that made up the main control system of the YF-21, I wouldn't say that's too far-fetched. What with the implants and all.

As for how the VF-31s avoided the patrols and whatnot, I guess the active-stealth system that has been on Valkyries for a while now, paired with careful maneuvering between concealment. As for why they left them behind, that I don't know. They should have just dressed the VF-31s up like Windermere soldiers. Nobody would have known.

Ps: I wonder how many references to Back to the Future this thread will have by next week's episode. I, for one, hope the number is high.

  5. Subs say that ammo was conveniently loaded. Berger for the win!

I don't recall seeing that anywhere in the subs I watched. I checked the scene where Berger was showing them the VF-22, but didn't see anything about ammo. Was it somewhere else that I forgot about? Or are there different subs?

Though, if Berger really went to all that trouble, I wonder what his reasoning was. There was no way he could have known that far in advance that the Delta team would need an escape vehicle and/or distraction. Maybe, seeing as how things with Windermere were going sideways, he prepared the VF-22 as an escape route for himself in case he got into trouble?

So does Lady M appear before the end or do they save her for the movie version?

Lady M might stand for Lady Movie. A personification of the upcoming movie version that will undoubtedly meddle with the plot.

Honestly as goofy as the VF 22 being ready is the Sigfrieds just kinda showing up is what killed me. Why not let Arad catch them then rondevue with their planes.

Well, the VF-22 in question had no legs, so that might present a problem for that scenario. Can a VF-22 hover without its legs? IIRC at least some of the thrust from the main engines is directed downward in GERWALK mode.

Really, the YF-21/VF-22 is one heck of a robust vehicle.

  6. The VF-31's active stealth system must be pretty good.

I also figure technology hasn't really proliferated through Windermere, since on the whole the place looks pretty archaic.

About the VF-22, honestly, I'm more surprised it has weapons. I gather the weapons it used were the kind that don't take "ammunition" per se, but still... to have working weapons on a display piece is quite surprising.

But, I'm willing to accept it. Why? Because we got to see a freaking VF-22 flying, man. That was great!

Also, I'm pretty sure the reason Arad didn't do this, or Arad didn't do that, was because he was being shot at by AA emplacements and his chief priority was protecting Kaname and the others. I'm still not clear on how that whole rescue went down, but even if we don't get clarification it was a cool sequence and I'm happy it happened.

  7. Fact is that No one tried to stop anyone from jumping nor firing.

Well, that was sort of my point. Because...

they couldn't openly oppose Heintz's decision. All I'm saying is they don't seem too broken up about their rivals escaping to fight them in the air once again. Except for Bogue, anyway.

<_< Yeah, you're hoping for way too much.

I know, but while we're waiting I might as well hope.

  8. Arad was shot at without instruction.

Arad was shot at by the AA guns. He destroyed one emplacement in his pass, and the other returned fire. He didn't attack the knights (at least not directly) - the AA emplacement was above them and debris rained down after it blew up.

I was talking about what happened between Hayate, Mirage and Freyja and the Aerial Knights on the platform.

I'm pretty sure if Keith or Herman wanted to stop Hayate or Mirage they would have no problems. Fact is neither lifted a finger to stop them from escaping. But, like I said, the knights may not have realized they were actually escaping... not that I buy that.

Also, I wanted to reply to this:

Unless now slave-mode works without cable connection, wireless, long distances, via undetectable implant. Also, falling some 10 meters over a metal surface is not healthy either.

I'm also wondering how they jumped safely onto the VFs. I think the Valkyrie's AI probably includes functions that are designed to rescue people, such as reducing closing velocity and things like that. I mean, half a Valkyrie's job seems to be catching people these days.

I do hope they clear up how that rescue happened in the next episode. To be fair, people who aren't familar with Frontier wouldn't even know that they have something like slave mode (though it is pretty well established the VFs can fly on their own in Delta). Ex-Gear is barely even seen in Delta for that matter. Either those VF-31s were controlled remotely by someone else, or their fingernail computers summoned them somehow. Hayate didn't seem surprised at all when he noticed their fighters coming in just before he advised them to jump. I'm pretty sure that was the plan all along - I just really hope we get some more details because right now there are just a lot of questions

I do love that scene, though.

  9. I would say the arrow is just a warning pointing to something the pilot uses in emergencies?

I was referring to what was on that blue colored screen. I highlighted it in the image.

    Unless I'm missing something.

No. The three were about to be executed and the Aerial Knights didn't bat an eye. Also the 3 were also shot at. Did Any of the AKs try to stop any of the gunmen? No sir. AKs also seemed surprised to find out that there were Valks waiting below.

I'm positive Windemere would be content to see them die right there.

Obviously Keith and Herman aren't going to openly oppose Heintz, but considering the dialog it certainly seemed like they didn't want things to go down like that. Both pilots have developed a respect for their rivals in the air, and expressed those sentiments (especially Herman). When the heroes make a break for it, the knights don't do anything to stop them. It's pretty clear this is one of those "I can't release you, but if you somehow escape I won't stop you" situations. Bogue on the other hand - I'm pretty sure the only reason the guards were shooting at Hayate and co. (who were about to jump off a cliff anyway, seemingly making the bullets somewhat redundant) was because of what Bogue yelled.

I missed Biff being knocked out by the suddenly opening canopy, while Doc... no, sorry, wrong series.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. This also gives me an excuse to re-link that GIF I made. (Warning, somewhat large size)

    Also...

Looks like I was right - they put the singers in the place where the legs would normally be in a VF-22. Only wish I would have suggested that here before I got the subs (instead of just thinking to myself about it) 'cause then I'd look real smart now.

Then again, it's possible my subconscious picked out the word for 'legs' (and possibly others) from the Japanese dialog and figured it out that way. Sometimes I learn words without realizing I learned the words

  10. Did I misunderstand something here(watching Raw only)? Because I just witnessed Hayate and Mirage blow a perfect opportunity to kill off the Aerial Knights while they're on foot. A volley of missiles. Forearm guns. Head lasers. Melee punch. You know, things that a VF can do. Nope. Nada. Nothing.

    Facepalm

With the exception of Bogue, it seems there's a mutual respect that's developed between the Aerial Knights and the Delta Squadron. Maybe they prefer to settle things in the air at this point. It didn't look like Herman and Keith made any effort to stop the escape either, but you could make the argument they didn't know Hayate and co. were in fact escaping.

Or maybe they were on break, I dunno.

    Also

About the VF-31s arriving to make the rescue. Hopefully it'll be made clear how that happened either in the subs or next episode, but while we're in the dark might as well speculate.

I know this is a pretty long shot, but does this look at all like the Epsilon logo to you guys?
